You're by far my favourite RU-vid doctor. All your videos are incredibly detailed and so easy to understand. I can say that because I've watched most of them (started watching bcz of my fissure). Thanks so much for making these videos. Here in Afghanistan we don't have great access to doctors so when needed, I just use RU-vid. Not much choice here. God bless. Stay safe

Such a valuable info!!! Thank u so much . I was hovering for last few month and it significantly irritated my pudental nerve and all issues started again(

I'm so glad that this was helpful for you, but I'm so sorry to learn that hovering irritated your PN issues again. Hopefully that means that you were doing well there for a while! One of my go-to mantras when I'm feeling down about the non-linear, scatter plot healing experience that is recovering from PN is, "if my body is capable of feeling well once, she is capable of it always" - and I'm confident the same is true of your body. Don't give up, keep going 🧡

I have been hovering for years and it pretty much ruined my Pfm… i struggle so much with pelvic pain and constipation/ frequent urination/ unable to complete urination in one sitting. I even prolapsed but im learning how to fix it and see a therapist.Thanks for the info!

I'm SO sorry to learn about your struggle with pelvic pain/prolapse/constipation/frequency/incomplete urination - I know our cases are different, but I know from my own experience how challenging, mentally and physically, navigating "chronic, mysterious" pelvic conditions can be. I am ECSTATIC that you are seeking a therapist and learning how to fix it! Don't forget to celebrate all of the victories - big and small. The silver lining is that everything that you've described could stem from a core issue, maybe a pelvic floor spasm - and treating that issue is 100% possible. Here's to your healing, and I'm so glad that you've found some of my content helpful 🧡

I went through a period of years where I tried to "maximize muscle activity" as much as possible, so I actually hovered over every toilet, public or no. Related to that, I also did kegels while I peed. So basically all the wrong things for my poor pelvis, lol! And so, I'm incredibly thankful for your channel for spreading good information. ✨ I'm learning so much! Would a more acceptable alternative to hover peeing be a standing squat, but bent forward in half, so the torso is resting straight on the thighs? Meaning a position more based on balance than strength? Or still no?
@PelvicEmpowerment
@PelvicEmpowerment 2 года назад
You aren't alone in that reasoning - I've heard the idea of "maximizing muscle activity" in the clinic before! I'm so glad that you're altering your habits for a healthier, happier pelvis and that you've found my content helpful 🤗 Excellent question! So, I think if the squat you're describing mimics the squat you'd need to assume to use a not-Western toilet, like the toilets you'd find in India for example, that'd be fine! When you can balance on your legs and truly relax into the position, it's all good! It's when you have to activate your abdomen and inner thighs to maintain a position that you may be interfering with your pelvic floor's ability to relax 🧡

with my ocd i started getting disgusted of toilet seats whether private or public i always hover/squat , i just want to know what pelvic floor pathologies will hovering inducee , like for ex if ur used to hovering u kinda strengthen the muscles so i dont think u will be much tense nd do much effort or am i wrong??
@PelvicEmpowerment
@PelvicEmpowerment 2 года назад
So, there is a urethral sphincter that is part of the pelvic floor, and it's important that that sphincter is able to relax and be open when it's time to urinate. Hovering forces the body to pee through a partly or fully closed sphincter via abdominal pressure, which, when done over and over again, can cause pelvic floor tightening/spasm and dysfunction that is related to said spasm. I have a different video that really breaks down that relationship and may better your understanding, here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D2v_bNG2GO8.html Pelvic floor tightening-related dysfunctions might include urgency/frequency, urge incontinence, painful s-ex, constipation, fecal urgency, low back pain, or pelvic pain, namely. I'm so sorry to learn about your struggle with OCD - the video that I linked focuses on proper toilet positioning for urination! I know that anxiety is not a rational beast, but at the very least it may help you to better understand your body! I really wish I could be more helpful, and I do wish you the best in your healing 🧡

Hi, in some parts of the world there are squatting toilets. Is squatting a good position for peeing?
@Roguey84
@Roguey84 2 года назад
With squatting they completely drop to the point where their hamstrings rest on calves. I’ve done Asian squats and they help a lot but u def shouldn’t push too much or strain in this position
@PelvicEmpowerment
@PelvicEmpowerment 2 года назад
I echo what Rogue said! If you can completely relax into the squat, it's a different story - the issue is when you have to activate your abdomen/inner thighs/gluts to support yourself in the squat position.

I am an IBS-D patient I try to push hard when I open my bowel at night to avoid getting in the middle of the night could this affect pelvic muscles ?
@PelvicEmpowerment
@PelvicEmpowerment 2 года назад
Yes, unfortunately, pushing hard to have a BM can affect the pelvic muscles in the same way pushing hard to urinate can! I'm so sorry to learn about your struggles with IBS-D. I do have some content here on the channel that might be helpful for you! For proper toilet positioning for pooping, I have this information video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5egK-7jrEHM.html And I do have a series dedicated to IBS that may be helpful. The first installation is here if it's of interest: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h6x9_RloKGU.html Wishing you the best in your healing, don't give up 🧡

Many Indian women use squatting. Is it good for pelvic floor?
@PelvicEmpowerment
@PelvicEmpowerment 2 года назад
I apologize for my delayed response - I was just able to respond to your similar question over on my other video about proper toilet positioning for urination! Here is my response copied and pasted from over there ❤️ "The main focus of proper positioning is being supported well enough to relax into the position. Said another way, the position is meant to enable the pelvic floor, abdomen, adductors, and gluts to relax! I think in Western societies squatting would not accomplish this, as many of us don't grow up practicing a squatting position, so we can't fully relax into it. Whereas Indian women tend to be able to fully relax into a squat, and almost rest on the back of their calves! So if someone can accomplish relaxation of those muscle groups in a supported squat, than the squat would be totally fine!"

Is standing while peeing bad for pelvic floor pain?
@PelvicEmpowerment
@PelvicEmpowerment 2 года назад
It can be, it depends on the person, how they're standing, and the condition of their pelvis! That said, if you want to compare how it feels to stand with how it feels to sit in a way that is very kind to the pelvic floor, you can check out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D2v_bNG2GO8.html All my best 🧡
