Just got these. My ankle and Achilles started hurting so bad after wearing this and it was because I’ve been wearing flat shoes for so long. They are comfy as hell !
Thanks for the great review, very thorough! I had spinal surgery alittle over a year ago and decided to 'splurge' on myself and buy these for daily walking since my Nike didnt help with the occasional ankle twist and back spasms I was experiencing. I seriously went from a short daily walk to at least 2 miles per day without ever having pain, twists or spasms. I started to love walking as well! I have always been the one who prefers barefoot or open flip flops and now I always reach for my On Cloud 5's. The comfort level of these sneakers are truly amazing as well as keeping me steady on my feet during my rehab. Highly recommend these and looking myself for the next color combination Ill get.
Thanks so much for the review! I just got these for traveling to Italy and I couldn't figure out the laces. Your video made so much sense. I prefer the more traditional lacing option for the "lockdown" you describe. And like you said, I wouldn't wear these running. But for a comfortable shoe walking through Italy, these are going to be great. And they look nice. Thanks again for the content. :)
One can tell that you really tried these shoes (not a given considering all the paid reviews you stumble upon). Yes, true, the speed lacing is more practical, but the "traditional" lacing gives much, much more stability.
Breakdown on inner heals on both of mine feels like a plastic bottle. 5 months happened in both shoes. The bottom logos on the inside rip right off and are not engrained in the sole which is a bummer too. I am returning my On Cloud 5 Waterproofs for $159 when purchased as an every other day switch out wear. The cost was too much for the quality received here in US. My first experience with On-cloud, I like the style but the quality for the money needs to improve.
Update: I went through warranty and they gave me a credit back for a new pair - whatever I wish I just received my money back. I haven't chosen another option yet didn't want another pair. The hype has worn off for me just like the quality of the shoe. Sad to say this eco friendly option is a bust.
I've only worn mine for a month and already feel the heel of one shoe breaking down. They started squeaking as well. Very annoying. Glad to hear they have some sort of warranty.
Hi great review as usual just got 1 question how is the cushioning compared to the previous model was the increase noticeable and it seems very similar to the cloud x now in terms of midsole thank you
Thanks! Unfortunately I never got to try the previous version. The midsole here isn’t super soft. You get a noticeable squish in the heel but overall it’s pretty minimal compared to like a full performance running shoe.
I just bought these as an everyday wear to the office and lifting in my home gym after work. Should be a lot better than my $30 Nikes that squeak. lol.
Thank you for a great review. I purchased the OC 5 Waterproof and I like the shoe at first blush but I don't care for the speed laces. I'm going to call them for the traditional laces. I have plantar fasciitis on my left foot and need the extra support.
Hi, I’ve just got mine and I wore them for half an hour with the speed lacing and oh my days-my feet were almost numb ! They are way too tight for me and I put the extra normal laces in and they’re so comfortable now
I can wear them for 6-8 hours comfortably but after that the top of my foot starts getting sore…I think I’m going to have to change them for traditional laces.
The biggest Plus on the shoes is the cool Factor... They are very much in style and if you want to look cool they are the way to go and they are comfortable for being out and about around town.however as he said these are not true performance shoes if you into serious jogging or intense exercise there are better options.
it comes down to preference but I just pulled them to when they were secure enough and felt good on my foot. Once I got it to the level I wanted I tied off a knot. Since they're elastic it's not going to be super secure. I use them more for causal wear
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT right my issue is when i tie off the knot, that knot is much further UP the lace away from the shoe that i want it to be and can't figure out how to get the knot to tie closer to the shoe
I ordered cloud 5 NOT good shoes I return it right away Not good on the feet DONT waste your money buying this shoes it’s a junk I don’t know why the reviews are soo high
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT they were the most cushioned out of all cloud shoes I tried on, I’ll give you that, but still very stiff at the same time. I can’t see myself walking in them all day. (I work in dental implants)
You should try the new Cloudsurfer (the one without the Speedboard). Changed my mind as it was really like walking on clouds--what I expected from On in the first place.
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT Live in switzerland just bought 2 this afternoon from a shop where all colors where displayed none had the flag on them. The previous model had the swiss flag. May be International version is different.
@@briang1310 no they are not fake there is a swiss law that forbids from putting the swiss flag on articles not manufactured in Switzerland i called ON they are genuine
these are the best shoes i ever owned in terms of comfort. i wear them at work ( i work in venues as an AV tech ) and they let me walk all day without pain , which matters at the end of the event when I have to tear down all the gear and push it to the loading dock and load trucks..... these make my feet super happy and my feet are cunts. real complainers.
