Eeeeeh. Whenever I see a truck bed it's never a flat block back there. It always looks like a bunch of loose parts with wheels and a trailer hitch and maybe some wires
Great review and a solid Optimus figure. I think this Prime is a 9 out of 10. It would be a 10 out of 10 for me if Optimus had better elbow bend, even with a single joint the elbow it should be able to get more range. I don't need the forearm to touch the shoulder but the ion blaster stock should be closer to the shoulder when Prime holds it with both hands. I wish the head was on a hinge joint in the back of the head for looking up, instead of the ball joint they used. Certain parts of the figure aren't painted due to some of plastics used, like the matrix chamber. I think they could have designed the Matrix chamber interior to be a separate piece that they could have glued or screwed or clipped in. The blue part that's painted red for the truck mode on the legs also could have been two separate colored pieces glued together to avoid potential paint chipping. I'm also not a fan of the hip skirts, I prefer the Earthrise Optimus and Siege Starscream hip design. When Earthrise Starscream is sitting down or doing kicks or raises a knee the skirt covers half of the thigh because of the hip skirts. Speaking of Starscream we need a new Seeker mold to go with 86 Optimus, Earthrise Optimus was already taller than the Seekers but it's too much now. I feel like they are going to redo Shockwave, Soundwave and the Seekers to better scale with the newer figures. I feel like that's why we haven’t gotten any other 86 Seekers from the Starscream mold because they are retiring it. Overall I'm excited for this Optimus figure. It's almost the perfect Optimus Prime. It comes with everything Optimus needs accessory wise, except maybe a jet pack that's compatible with Sideswipe but that's a bit much to ask of Hasbro. I'd love a Nemesis Prime of the 86 mold. I really hope they do a toy/comic accurate Optimus Prime repaint in the future with a white shield Autobot logo on the shoulder, silver stripe on the truck cab, painted shins and silver trailer with the blue and white stripes. Basically the ToysRUs MP10 colors, I think that would elevate the new Optimus mold. I've seen some amazing custom repaints of 86 Prime that give me hope for possible future releases.
33:37 And in all that time, they only did like ONE new mold for the Matrix: the one in Legacy G2 Laser Optimus Prime is different from the Earthrise mold...and then they went and locked it to that mold (Toxitron, RiD01 Scourge, etc.), which is baffling. 37:56 ...yeah, I think that unlike MP1 & MP10, there's way too much goin' on to see a proper downsized MP44. (We had downsized MP1 with iGear Faith Leader & Takara's Hybrid Style THS02 G1 Convoy, along with a crappy "MP1 inspired" in Takara's Robot Masters G1 Convoy...and of course for downsized MP10, there's the KuBianBao MP10V, which even towers over SS86-31) I think that KuBianBao didn't bother going beyond the early prototype phase for a potential MP36V for the same reason...just too much goin' on in there. Fantabulously AWESOME review as always!! Definitely hope I can get this when it finally and officially comes out in the US.
I do not collect but am torn between the following. Earthrise, missing link, and the 86. Which one is most recommended I just want the best one for the price to put on my desk. Price is not the issue it is design and likeness. Thank you.
Here's all I can tell you because all three of them look completely different, I have reviews for the other two. If this one didn't convince you to get this figure, check those out and make your own decision.
@@TMan978 Close enough. We're talking about a difference of less than a head height with SS86 Prime. You won't notice it unless you specifically pose them standing side by side. Even an action pose on the same shelf won't reveal a discrepancy.
Hey Tman is there a way to glue those smoke stacks in place? What I mean is there a screw to take out so the smoke stacks will come right out so they can be glued in place?
If you glue them in place they'll bump into the arms when you rotate them. I can't remember off hand but I'm sure there are two screws in the back of this shoulder
@TMan978 ooohhh nice! Thanks for the reply manz! Time for me to get the KO version 🙃🙃 always felt that the studio series one isn't as screen accurate.
the head doesn´t look like the cartoon, def needs a head upgrade kit. and his chest is too wide. if it would be slightly slimmer and the windows more square he would look alot better. other than that he´s great.
@@TMan978 I got one of those yolopark g1 versions, because seriously ❤️ the Optimus. Thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Compared to what hascrap puts out, threezero, flame toys, my goodness. For the $. And hascrap dares crap out shit like this. Is absolutely unsatisfactory. 👍
@rickytoddbotelho9555 those are two very different toys trying to accomplish to very different things. This figure is by no means comparable to a Happy meal toy or a shampoo bottle as people like to say. Probably weighs the same amount as that model kit (definitely if you and cleared all of his accessories and trailer) and it's going for a cartoon aesthetic which is super clean colors and not metallic.
Yeah it's funny 10 years ago, MP 10 was only $10 higher than this thing cost. They are definitely made out of different plastic and he's significantly smaller.
You really don't sound like Joe Biden. You're using actual words, for a start. As for the figure, I'm very happy with the Siege and Earthrise Primes, and will be sticking with those. The Netflix version of the latter is fantastic, without the trailer. Obviously Prime is an eternal moneyspinner for Hasbro, but for the sake of a very slightly larger figure this seems barely worth the bother. The trailer is gagging for some stickers - they could have included some.
