I’d say it’s harder to get big as just a streamer. Mainly just because twitches recommended system is terrible. If not non existent. Ya gotta have a mix.
@A7RA3L.Eh, RU-vid has pretty interesting algorithm at times. As long as your video is interesting or align with someone else interest it could end up in someone's home page. I got recommended to videos with only 100-200 ish views ever since a month or two ago, they are mostly related to what I've been watching recently, though that makes me wonder did they change how algorithm works now since a year or two ago I never got videos or stream with below 1000 views, but nowadays it's pretty common occurence.
@A7RA3L. I think it's easier to grow on RU-vid to be honest you just have to post quality content and follow the trend a little and be consistent . People are reaching 60 to 500 views every day plenty of of small youtube grow relatively quick.. I am discovering small RU-vidrs everyday depending on the topic i search. i have been watching twitch recently and Twitch recommendation is really not good. On Twitch if you get 20- to 50 people watching constantly its actually really good because a lot streamers of cannot reach that. 100- 500 you are probably a small start on Twitch. Also, regarding the raiding concept I dont know if it's really effective.
I think it depends on content that you do. Best advice is do something that you enjoy watching and get inspiration on it. There os no need to get complicated about other stuff like editing, software etc. Just upload content that you are willing to share and you know everyone can enjoy. Treat it like something that you can share to a family member or friends. And if it goes viral, then you have idea and foundation to build up your channel. Regardless if you stream and posting yt videos.
Twitch is prob harder, u have to be on all the time, it’s not like u can edit what u do or say out, so u always have to keep it in the back of ur mind. Yt on the other hand if ur recording n u say sum fucked up shit u can edit it out. Just my opinion btw
Coming from a new streamer who’s already had an RU-vid with different type of content streaming on twitch is definitely more of a grind , on RU-vid you can post ppl all around the world have an chance to watch at anytime . Streaming . You kinda have to be good at whatever game your playing or entertaining but I’m learning when your just starting it’s kinda difficult to get ppl to tune into you when their already watching their fav streamer
It’s much harder being a RU-vidr than a streamer from my experience. Streaming is fun and easy but building the audience is hard. RU-vidr is a lot of work that streamers don’t face. Making videos that people won’t click off is tough. Learning the retention and the algorithm drives you insane
Beautiful video. I thought it was a joke because of the title, but instead it was a serious, honest take on the feeling of starting out with no following yet putting in all this endless effort. Thanks for making this. I guess i gotta stream until mr beast sees me LOL.
Depends entirely on the content. Some youtube channels makes insane contents that requires many hours or days just to produce. Production value in terms of recording a video, for me, is a lot harder than to sit on a stream and entertain your audience live, as you have feedbacks to rely on. But for youtube videos, you don't have that, you can only know if it's good or bad, after you finish producing, which could either be worth it, or perform very poorly. Yeah sure, you can take breaks, but that's only if you already have a very enstablished viewerbase, which will ultimately wait for your videos, as thay's normally how youtube ecosystem works. I get that it's also hard to maintain viewership as a streamer, let alone, raising it. But in term of production and all, being a youtuber will probably take more from you. Although, I highly doubt it's that much difference overall in general, because there's pros an cons for both, and it depends entirely on you for which you can manage better.
They’re both hard. RU-vid you have to edit; making thumbnail, come up with the idea and all that crap before dropping the video. Twitch is easy in the sense you just go live but you do it for hours and for most people it’s to 0-3 viewers. I basically streamed on twitch for 7 years for Pennies to the dollar.
I really dislike that this is even a conversation and a distraction from young people having traditional career ambitions. I understand why it's a conversation, but for me, the majority of people who are successful Streamers and RU-vidrs are talented enough to win auditions to work in TV or Film. They just choose to Stream or post to RU-vid because they make more money that way of course. We have a society of young people who think almost any of them can be successful at streaming or post to RU-vid and that is simply not the case.
Actually both are easy when u are at the top... if you are big u open ur stream any time, do anything, and thousands will watch u, donate, etc... the hardest part on youtube is editing the video itself, but when u are big and make a good income already, u can just hire editors, thumbmakers, etc to make the hard part for u... but I agree that being entertaining for hours on a stream everyday is hard... but if u are xqc for example is easy u can just chill watch videos and play without saying a word If u don't want and millions of dollars will be in ur bank account 😅
No offense to any of these guys but I have no idea who any of these guys are. Makes me think of those youtubers or twitch streamers that have millions of followers/subscribers and can't even get 5k live views on their streams. The only one I've been able to see get 200k views consistently is Dr.Disrespect. Though I haven't seen his streams in a while. So I'll check back and see.
Neuro surgeon would be 2 life harder if you guys consider REAL actual job that need skill and obviously the word that is not really common these days ‘SCHOOL’
Streaming is 100% more difficult once you start streaming you realize how entertaining you actually are without post editing I say build an audience on RU-vid then bring them to twitch
well youtubers can stream on youtube… 🤯 also, they edit their videos in case they did something they thought was embarrassing. not because they think they aren’t entertaining 💀
@@MadaraUchiha-.._ Ofc people edit and cut their content to make it more appealing, entertaining and funny. E.g Shorts and why they work so well for content creators. They are highlights. A live stream is a flow not a highlight. I would compare RU-vid and Twitch with Acting a script and Improvising. Kinda similar with a lot of overlap but also different specialties make them shine.
I’d probably go streamer here as coming from experience it can be difficult to be able to do things like count sub count or any of that stuff especially if you stream on console also for small streamers it’s harder be able to manage school/work having a nice life for example spending time with family and streaming 5+ hours a day this is my opinion if you don’t agree I apologize please don’t hate
I'm a new streamer. Definitely a lot involved in streaming. To upload a video a week on YT I can do the editing anytime in the week from footage but with streaming you have to YT and keep to your live schedule. its wild sometimes. Let alone handling all the plugins and socials on top.
I genuinely prefer streaming, but that’s just because I hate editing, I don’t really care if I get big while streaming, but I’d love to get up to 1000 average views per stream in like a year or two
I do it all and still barely get followers other than tik Tok and shorts. I guess I need better video editing and planning. After a few years it's exhausting.
If you want to be a streamer you better do tons of research and have a lot of money saved up because it’s one of the most expensive things to get into when it comes to content creation.
both are difficult to make it far but if you are only doing one of them twitch is miles harder there isn’t anyway for people to find your streams unless they are scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the page but if you do both your streams are your footage then you just edit the parts you want and the youtube can help boost your twitch
streaming is way harder to get big in. youtube you can get lucky and have 1 video just pop tf off to start your career. streaming you don't just have 1 stream just pop off. as for the content aspect, youtube is way harder if you're doing it solo. all the editing and post-production stuff you need to do in order to make it appealing to the average viewer is much harder than hitting the go live button and just sending it.
RU-vidrs: - Film content (vlog, games, review, reaction, challenge, news update etc.) - Edit in or out moments you want: make it monetizable - Edit how long you want the video to be - Able to choose music before uploading: use non copyright music or you have rights to - demonetized video can be re-edited and reuploaded - Can only block troll comments: Blacklist certain words or phrases in comments - Could hire Camera crew, editor, manager, etc. Twitch streamers: - Livestreams (Just Chatting, Games, Podcast, ASMR, etc.) - Livestream however long you want/can stay up - Pay attention to chat and donations - Constantly have to think before speaking - Unable to control “sudden moments” - Watch out for copyright music: mute stream - End stream before being taken down - Able to ban obnoxious viewers - Hire Moderators Similarities: - Same rules and guidelines - 3 strikes, You’re out! - Will try to take down ban creator’s alt acc’s - Sponsors and Ads: use premium to get rid of ads - Viewers, subscribers and donators - Hire people for extra help
There maybe more but I just listed some things off the top of my head. I respect all content creators who are able appease and entertain this horrid wasteland called the internet🫡
depends. If you can think fast. Stream. If you like setting things up. Make videos. That's a generalization but there's alot of factors into it. In the end "Effort x 1(undefined luck) = benefits."
I got respect for both, I think they both take an insane hustle. Maybe a different kind, but it’s a hustle either way. And one’s easier than the other at some thing and vice versa. Streaming like scarra said once you get somewhere you can autopilot it but the hard part is getting ANYONE to watch your stream starting out. Meanwhile posting full on videos that are up forever….you get noticed and views easier cuz people can watch it whenever and therefore also choose to subscribe whenever. It’s just a different hustle but they’re both a hustle
Dunno most streameres I know are mostly reaction content and honestly I don't see the appeal for nost of them, some do put the work but leaving those and the amurath types aside I don't know any other types of streamers.
I’ve been streaming for about 8 years and I’ve only got 20 followers across my RU-vid and twitch it’s hard to get followers and get noticed especially bro. I wish I had help bro. Anyways keep up the grate work bro
RU-vid is way harder, streamers sit and play a game for a few hours, RU-vidrs gotta record the game (may take a few hours) then they have to edit (by default takes longer than the video took to record) then they have to upload the video which can also take forever. RU-vid is way more time consuming and challenging.
RU-vid is easier to gain a following plus it pays well even if you have 50k subs. My buddy make roughly 80k a year with just 50k subs he has merch and small brand deals that reach out to him
Streaming is more more difficult in the sense that it requires more time commitment and consistency.. as well as being far more risky due to a lack of censorship and inevitable Freudian slips.. RU-vid is more difficult in the sense that it truly is more technical and there’s a massive learning curve beyond captivating the audience with personality alone and the demands for the quality of the films are only rising as the platforms technology and techniques evolve. An insanely good editor is crème de la crème on RU-vid, make or break.. and twitch doesn’t even involve that aspect… just equipment.. decor…. And vibe.. so I agree RU-vid is more difficult to be successful due to an immensely greater learning curve.. but it’s also so much more rewarding… and far less likely to make the performer and audience mentally ill.
I believe both have their pros and cons and some people may be a better streamer then video editor and vice versa! ❤ I have more luck with streaming on twitch then youtube. But it doesn't mean i'm giving up (๑ơ ₃ ơ)♥. Everyone will have their strengths
i need help to become a better yter, plus i only have my phone for doing my whole yt channel and i don’t have any source of income due to being denied from 7 job places
Probably depends on the type of person you are. RU-vid is more for people that like being able to edit and be very deliberate with what they share. Twitch is for folks that just wanna vibe and don't care too much about putting themselves out there 100%. Both are cool in their own way.
Im literally just starting out my anxiety is bad because i just wanna be a good streamer and just to make good videos. Like i dont wanna be perfect at all, just wanna do what i love i just wanna show myself off ya know. 😂
the hard part is trying to actually be a good entertaining streamer for hours while there's only 2 people watching (wich is yourself and 1 bot) and making 0 income or progress 😕😕
I find it easier to be a streamer than a youtuber, i dont even post on youtube at all, i just started twitch like a week ago and already have 13 followers, So far i just enjoy twitch more than youtube
Personally, streaming is harder for me, because my schedule isn't consistent, but I can make uploads pretty consistent throughout the week. Streaming is so horrible difficult to get an audience.
Well, its all came down to talent. Some people has talent for making good video, while some people has talent in making impromptu entertainmen, and neither one is straight up harder than the other
Working class Streamers and RU-vidrs are a thing now .? I think the lamest “creators “ are the ones that need to do the most , they kinda have to just to stay relevant . 💅
Idk man. It is soooo draining being a streamer. Reason being is you don’t grow on twitch without grinding your bum off on every platform to bring in viewers and THEN have to entertain people on live feed and not have any issues with quality, you have to keep talking, you have to have incentives. Nice thing about RU-vid is you can make cuts. I love sitting back after streams and making the cuts in stream vods cuz it’s so much easier. RU-vid you can also add memes and editing to make your content more interesting whereas your streams are live and entertainment depends on if the streamer is.. entertaining. And for girls if you don’t show your body and use it for views you have to work that much harder cuz ppl who want to want gameplay go to men and the ones there to watch females go to the stripped ones. You have to work hard to find genuine people and build a genuine audience. Oh and if you’re not single you’re screwed cuz everyone wants to date you man or woman. Though I’ve heard it’s not really an issue with guys but idk just trying to be equal about things.
