When you're recording, you also explain what you're thinking and what your opponent may be thinking. I think that does have an effect. Not just that you spend some extra time, but also you need to switch focus back and forth between talking and evaluating the position and the next lines. That's my theory. 😊

From a sub 1500 player, there is no need to be embarrassed. If there is a game that teaches us how human and imperfect we are it’s chess. While winning is a great healer, losing is a great teacher. Please keep on playing and learning.

Thanks for actually playing the game live, it takes balls to do this, you could hide behind the commentary but I have respect for you for walking the walk. It’s not an easy game there as so many psychological issues to overcome to put yourself out there. Thanks again 😊😊😊😊

Can't say enough good things about these videos of your rapid games. Your analysis and thought process is always valuable, of course. But your manner, your emotional disposition, as you and your opponent move through the game, is not just pleasing; its inspirational. No trash talk or chest thumping when you do well. No self-loathing when you miss something. What comes through - to me, at least - is an even-tempered love of the game. Truly commendable. Please keep 'em coming! 😀

Good game, agad! And I definitely think recording while playing is much harder, your attention is split on multiple fronts, being entertaining while playing the best moves... Takes a lot of practice for sure to figure out.

Samo nastavi sa ovim Rapid action partijama. Pravi je pravac na tvom kanalu, po mom mišljenju, dosta toga se može naučiti i to u realnoj partiji kakvu svi mi pokušavamo da odigramo. Hvala i samo napred!

Have been following your rapid games and I love the format! just two suggestions: 1) Anish Giri in his e4 Chessable course also recommends the Adam’s attack against the Najdorf but he follows up 6. h3 e5 with 7. Nf3!? 2) when you create a new rapid game you have a shortcut on Lichess to play 10+0 which is way quicker than what you do of opening the additional modal to select the time etc 😉
@cinemaker321
@cinemaker321 9 месяцев назад
re 2: I think the default modes search in a rating range -500, +500. He selects 0, +500 in the custom modal.

I love this live chess series. I can relate to thinking on the fly under time pressure. Sometimes I find myself yelling at the screen (at you) about a certain move that looks good. “How about rook to C5!?!” It is fun to see in your analysis if the engine agreed with me. ❤ Thanks!

I don't think a sample size of 5 games or even 10 is going to show you any convincing evidence on whether recording your games changes your level of play. You'd have to do hundreds and adjust for player ratings, lines played etc.

Talking distracts you from actually analyzing what you are doing. When I talk and play at the same time I can't concentrate on a game, even if I talk about variations. Has something to do with how brains work maybe. You are used to receive and analyze information while listening, not while talking. When you type something it is easier to make a sentence than when you saying it out loud.
