After my recent working vacation to San Diego a few weeks back, a few of you raised the question of whether it's okay to completely take time off in private practice - fully log off and disappear.
The answer is 100% yes! But we do have an ethical obligation that our clients' care remains a priority even while we're unavailable. So in this video I'll dive into the steps you can take to make sure you're ready to take time off.

Here are a few steps to take to make sure both you and your clients are ready for a vacation. Even if you're leaving for a long time and will be completely unavailable:
1. Give your clients a heads up
2. Plan for how your clients will access care while you're gone.
3. Clearly communicate your plans, availability, and options to your clients.
