Loved you recognizing the evolution of Thibs. Since the 2021 loss to the Hawks, his strategy and willingness to change gameplans has improved greatly. He used a variety of defenders on both Maxey and Embiid, and has fully embraced "position-less" bball when necessary. Hell, he used Anunoby as a center at multiple points in this series
I also loved him recognizing Thibs changed and is a superb coach. I don’t think the Atlanta loss was it tho, the next season was terrible he was so stubborn and didn’t adjust at all. I think it came December 22’ when he took Fournier out of the rotation, gave quickley more responsibility, and just other adjustments that showed he can adapt. I’m a ride or die for Thibs now he lives breathes and bleeds basketball and it’s obvious how much talent he can squeeze out of the right guys
I always hated thibs because he seemed to stubborn to adapt but he’s started to change a bit. I still have questions about his offensive schemes and ability to adapt but he’s def not as bad as he used to be
"15-5-5 at the half, pretty mid for him", it's genuinely funny to me how true this statement is, if Luka plays at this pace for a full game then his overall regular season averages go down
I have a hearing disability so sometimes the music makes it so I can't actually hear what he's saying. Was fine in this video though :p @@africangoku1152
I’m a bit of an older viewer but I normally listen with my phone off when I cut grass or do stuff around the house but whatever you do ima support the content you put out man
I know injuries and fatigue probably played a part in it but embiid averaged 5 points in the 4th for the series (4 of them being free throws) while also shooting 28% from the field and 11% from 3
Big Knicks fans. Thibs definitely changed his coaching style here, since like December 2022. He’s show that he can adjust and adapt now which was my biggest criticism of him, his stubbornness. Love Thibs now. He lives breathes and bleeds basketball that’s my guy I think he’s a championship caliber coach and one that actually makes a difference. He’s like the Knicks pat riley
I think Embiid's time is nearly over. He made TONS of dirty, intent to injure, plays in his mind "to protect himself". He should have been ejected at least 3 times this series but what this tells me is he already doesn't have faith in his own body. With a star player losing faith, and wasn't able to do anything in the playoffs beforehand... it doesn't look good for the future. Plus it starts with him when you talk about how many offensive rebounds the Knicks had.
Audio experience would be great. Listening to these while making dinner or going on a run is amazing and being able to download them ahead of time would be a data saving game changer
I enjoy the BG music and Spotify for me as an Option would be nice, makes it easier to Listen while driving. But the slight music is chill and adds to the video for me 😊
As a Sixers fan this is the best I’ve felt after a playoff series loss. Under Doc it felt like we were so dogshit against these top tier teams but with Nurse I feel like I can trust him to get these guys in a better spot if we just give him time. Also pray and hope for the love of god that Embiid has a healthy playoff run. In the series we never got blown out it was a series of runs throughout the series both teams made each game go down to the wire. We just need to regroup in the off-season and make the most out of Tobias no longer being a Sixer.
Knicks fan here, ya definitely gave us a fight, every game came down to the wire. Probably one of the greatest first rounds in NBA history. Now I will say, I don’t like Embiid, he’s always been a dirty player and it showed even more this series, so as a Knicks fan, respectfully fuck embiid, but man much respect to Maxey. That guy is gonna be so special for you guys if he isn’t already. He took the losses on the chin like a leader should and didn’t cry or complain about it. Just told his guys to regroup and be better. Much respect 🫡
Honestly, the music is a zero problem for me but I would love if the audio version was available cause sometime I’m in places where the internet isn’t the best and Spotify tends to be more reliable when playing stuff in low internet areas
The thing I haven’t seen people really mention is that they are missing Randle. I get that there’s a lot of Randle hate but he’s an allstar/all nba level player and has shown that he’s one of the best second options in the league. I think if he way healthy they may have actually been able to win it all.
anothrt nice thing about having it on other platforms is that we can listen with our phones in the pocket and not accidentally skip all over the place becaus the screen's on
The rest of Mavs showed Luka can trust in them come playoff time. Luka will go into the next series with more confidence and relaxation, knowing that the team will pick up the slack. Having a vet like Kyrie goes a long way, and it's just so great to see Kyrie loving life in Dallas. If the Mavs bigs can perform throughout the playoffs, they'll be genuine contenders - not just contenders because Luka and Kyrie can perform miracles. They have a good rotation at the 4/5 spot, they can get a good small ball team on court, got some good lob threats too. If they can get a consistent wing shooter who is reliable on defence (sorry THJ), I think this team can win a title or two in the next four to five seasons.
People keep commenting on Buddy’s attempt but the Knicks just fouled and McBride was going to foul again on the dribble. Ugly shot? Yes but not the wrong idea
i don't mind the background music, but i do listen to this video rather than watching it, so having it on places like Google Podcasts would be convenient while helping you reach new audiences
Podcast form sounds great. I'm honestly not a fan of the background music throughout the entire video though. It works in sections but I think there's a reason most other long-form pod-style videos don't have music. That being said, it is not that noticeable, so if it's kept at this sort of volume I think it works either way, and I have no idea what most people prefer.
Embiid bought every foul-call he could and had the averages you'd expect of an MVP and back-to-back scoring champ. Tyrese was had 3x games where he was the highest scorer on the floor. Meanwhile, Tobias Harris laid an egg every single game. If the 76ers don't drop him it's OvOver like a Kendrik diss.
I really wish you would do the podcast later cus I always have basketball/baseball/football practice whenever you do the podcast and it’s a way better experience to watch it live.
def would prefer a podcast (on other platforms), I listen to ur vids during workouts and sometimes it gets annoying having it be a yt video cus I can not close the app (no premium)
I’d definitely would prefer to watch the videos bc i play games and some times i look over but definitely when I’m driving it’d be nice to have a podcast option
I wouldn't say say. Imagine if Tobias Harris matches the effort of Nicholas Batum in the last 3 games of the series. Joel Embiied at his worst gave you a triple-double and Tyrese Maxey showed you why he's max contract. Weirdly, this team reminds me of the 2021 Lakers team before the AD and Bron injuries.
Embid is a good center but he just doesn't seem to have the personality to lead a succesfull playoff run! It's like he just mentally unravels as a playoff series progresses until his team loses!
We knew this Philly team wasn’t deep enough to win the series, the fact that Embiid and Maxey were able to make this series even competitive is a win for them. This does not at all give Embiid a pass for horrible playoff performances in the past but is rather a welcomed improvement
At this point, the only way to accept this way of basketball is to accept that this is a part of the game just like taking a charge. It’s an annoying way to play but I guess it’s so prominent in this new style of basketball that the only thing we can do is to accept it because it ain’t going away anytime soon.
Yall are saying Brunson is playing in a bad way for that? Like what? 90% of his drawn fouls were him BLOWING PAST his defender, then going up and jumping back some and drawing contact. Lol he exploited their on ball defense and made 2 points into 3? It's not like he's doing the Harden armlock which is impossible to not be a foul. But come on, Brunson really is just playing smart. Play better, more honest D instead of trying to jump over the player and block his shot because YOU got burned on ball.. just my thoughts.
i havent seen many ppl say this, but i think nurse is the biggest reason they lost the series. he got absolutely outcoached and i put alot of responsibility on him for embiids 4 qtr struggles and the lack of contribution from the rest of the sixers beyond embiid and maxey. maybe its not fair and he did the best he could with what he had but i dont think thats the case.
To be fair to Buddy, the Knicks had fouled the last possession to prevent them even attempting a three pointer so I think he rushed that last shot cuz he was expecting them to foul again.
I don't think the Sixers failed at all. As you said the Knicks were favored in the series and I think it is fair to say that the Knicks played better than expected.
