the only thing that can give you an authentic information about ISLAM is no serial , no movies not even muslims(if he does not give reference from the holy scriptures). the only thing having the authentic information about ISLAM is the holy QURAN and the sahih (authentic)hadiths(sayings of the prophet Muhamamad).

I have never seen a Quran in my entire life, I don't even know where I can find a version of it in portuguese since it is my first language and I don't speak Arabic, and I don't really trust the internet for that, so... I understand why you say it but so far I have watched some very interesting documentaries and videos about it and I'm finding it amazing! The thing that most people in the comment are not understanding is the fact that we all know Bollywood and hollywood movies are haram. But no one says its Islamic or watches them for religious reasons whereas many people think Ertugrul is Islamic show when it has haram in it. If you watch for entertainment then that's something else but dont watch it thinking its islamic. @@Roshi8989 sounds jaleous to me, ain't ya? Producers of Ertuğrul mentioned this beforehand that this is a historically motivated production. So it's not particularly a religious motivated drama. Their showing national motivation is very natural since the drama is about turkish history specifically even though it belongs to Islamic history too.

Maybe as a Muslim, you find no benefit from watching about the struggles of an Islamic empire. But with so many negative dramas and movies especially those that show Muslims & Islam in a negative way, it's nice for me as a non-Muslim to see the truth. Movies and dramas, if used properly, can open doors in people's hearts and minds that otherwise would remain closed their whole life. Some non-Muslims need the inspiration to study the Quran and learn the truth about Islam and not the lies spread by Western propaganda. Maybe Allah uses the good from Ertugrul to lead others to the truth. I'm speaking as a Western non-Muslim, there is a passion in my heart sparked by Ertugrul to learn about Islam that I've been indoctrinated to believe is a religion of hate and not worth studying. As a non-Muslim, I want Muslims to unite and quit fighting with each other and come out from under the oppression of the Western world and Zionist. As a non-Muslim, I don't associate Allahu Akbar with terrorism any more because of Ertugrul. As a non-Muslim, I see the beauty and the love in Islam. As a non-Muslim, Ertugrul has changed me in many ways I can never express. I'm inspired to fight for what is right and for the oppressed even if I'm alone. And Ertugrul reminds me that no matter the problems we face or how dark the situation is God is always there and there is power in prayer. Of course Ertugrul is not all Islam, and it's best to actually read the Quran. It is your faith who would know that you don't listen to music or don't watch dramas. Simply don't tell them you don't. You can answer by saying I don't like watching dramas or music. You don't like and watch for Allah and his prophets atayat. People will not save us here and the hereafter. Be strong and don't fear what people will say. Don't give them a chance save your faith only. I know it's hard for some but not as much as we think.

@Reluctant depal but i see music everywhere. Changing pitch in simple speech is also the part of music. I don't think music is that bad unless if you add vulgar speech in it. A weapon can be used for good deeds and bad but it hurts when someone say music is haram and weapons are not.

Our Prophet Muhammad SAW said 'Utlub il ‘ilma wa law fis-Sin' meaning “Seek knowledge even in China,” What is meant by this is to learn knowledge from every corner of the world because knowledge is power. The Prophet acknowledged that even the non muslims had certain wisdom and knowledge which would benefit a muslim. Ertugrul is a brilliant show and gives insight into Islamic past and how it spread.
