Making this video was a true labour of love and took me many weeks to create in my spare time and is the first time I've ever made a fully edited video with a script, edited video footage, and post-production etc! If you enjoyed it, then give this video a like, a subscribe, and leave a comment!
Great work for starting out my dude, overall good production values! I would advise perhaps investing in a pop filter in the future; your voice makes some nasty pops here and there into your mic which is a little painful to listen to, but otherwise I really enjoyed this! The OG Star Wars Battlefront games are quite fun games, so it's nice to see content made on them in the current era.
Please consider doing something like a deathless run of the game where you name the clones that you played who have died afterwards! (Rules: Campaign, Death = Instant Restart of the Campaign, you must memorialize the specific clone with a nickname like Fumbles the puppy eater)
@@kikin-ki-kophkw9290 Actually, a deathless run in a game like this where you tend to churn through multiple characters sounds really interesting. Not a bad suggestion.
@@starlighter93 🤔 what about other heroes? Does it say someone killed a hero? Does it increase your kill counter after u kill or defeat a hero? I would've thought it would.
@@theblasteffect4499 That's a good question. I don't know. I just remember that when heroes lose all their health points, they don't drop dead, they just kneel down. Based on these animations, I'd say you can't kill a hero, only defeat them. But I'm not sure.
@@starlighter93 yeah, it's just a technicality, doesn't matter too much. I'm more interested in seeing the unexplored aspects of the game such as glitches with the maps, physics, bots and more. Oo I got a video idea! Analyse and make the ultimate strategy and tactics against the bots by manipulating their weaknesses. I've learned any main trooper class soldier will shoot but then stop for a few seconds, as well as that glitch you found where you went inside and around the enemies and they couldn't figure out they were supposed to go back inside the base. Maybe even turn the difficulty up to maximum then figure out how best to beat the enemies.
i know you don’t “kill” leia but i imagine he’s going off of the end level scoreboard for deaths. i’d consider grievous and physically pushing people off the edge killing but it’s not a direct kill like leia should be
The fact that you made it to Naboo with only 26 kills when it's really easy to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 kills by this point in the campaign is impressive.
The true story of Pfc. Kazumus S. Runs, who won the Galactic Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during The Galactic Civil wars based on curiosity. Kazumus was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life -- without firing a shot -- to save countless clones.
It's been years upon years so I may be wrong, but I do believe you can use the fusion cutter to repair the bookshelves on Coruscant. Being that you only need to keep one alive, it's *probably* possible to baby one through the assault by the Jedi.
I suspect that repairing the bookcases wouldn’t outweigh the Jedi’s damage output, but it’s a good point and I probably should have considered that in my video - good shout!
@@Kazumus_Speedruns yea I play on Xbox and I think not too long ago I tried repairing the bookcases and can confirm it can't heal it fast enough to outweigh the damage of the Jedi.
Repairing a previously destroyed bookshelf does not reset the count, but repairing may allow a longer window of time for allies to kill a few more Jedi. Additionally, use of dark trooper lightning to wound and stun, but not kill, some Jedi could help your allies get more of the kills, and I would suspect this is a larger impact than repair.
@@Kazumus_Speedruns If you play split screen and both heal the bookshelves the entire time maybe you'd combined be able to outheal the damage! I feel split screen no kill runs are just as valid and probably make a fair few missions a lot easier to complete without killing The Aklay still wouldn't stand a chance though, RIP creatures of my nightmares when I was 9
Even if that doesn’t work, wouldn’t it technically be possible to cut the Jedi’s health down to almost zero, then let your allies finish them off? The AI isn’t great but I think it should be possible given enough attempts.
Awesome video! :) I will share some knowledge I gained from my attempts on this challenge: -The Holocron Jedi on Coruscant is killable by the other clones. ;) - On Naboo I was wondering why sometimes I had to kill like 9 Jedi and some other time only 5. Apparently they just fell out of bounds xD -I totally forgot about that Gizor could fall into the Lava... - My PB on Hoth was once 12 kills but I recorded only an 19 kill attempt. Just got to much tragedys there.. I got rid of the Library Jedi on Coruscant and Leia through friendly fire. ^^ My final kill count was about 38 and I also came to the conclusion that 0 kill Hoth is possible but just incredibly unlikely.
Glad you enjoyed it! I had completely overlooked enabling friendly fire simply due to it being the norm for the speedrun, although I am surprised that there are some enemies that the AI are able to kill 100% rather than hard coded to only take a certain percentage of damage. I didn't know about your video until I posted mine onto the discord but I'm glad that I didn't watch it beforehand as it shows the different methods that we took and it's interesting to compare! Although that doesn't stop me from kicking myself for not even considering using a fusion cutter on those Coruscant bookcases! Thanks for the support!
Man, this video was a sooo great finding! I played this game a lot when I was younger and now I'm revisiting it. (this video suddently appeared in my recommendations) I really liked all the strategies that you've put on this, and found myself laughing a lot at some parts (the ending with CIS male cought me off guard lol). Anyway, awesome video! I'll be up for more SWBF2 videos of yours!
I’m glad that you enjoyed the video and that the algorithm is doing a great job of pushing it out there as a recommended video! Given that the reception to this video has been so warm and welcoming, I’ll have to start thinking about what my next video could be…. 👀
that may be because the Remote Rocket Launcher is an Award Weapon and probably the hardest to get out of all of them. I only know this from the PS2 Version because thats the version i always played so if its different on PC somone let me know, but on PS2 at least you have to hit 4 Vehicle Weakspots with the regular Rocket Launcher in one Life to get the Award once, and to get it permanently you need to get it 64 times. Very hard/almost impossible to do in regular gameplay because where the hell are "Vehicle Weakspots" even located and ionce you know hitting them is almost impossible while they are moving and it only counts on manned Vehicles, not empty ones. I personally cheesed it back in the day by doing an instant action on Hoth with 0 AI units and shooting the Necks of the ATATs, because they always count as manned for some reason^^ The weapon was actually one of my favorites because it was very silly. You could literally just park your ass next to an ammo droid and become a guided Missile support system and give precise Artillery support to your teammates. The explosion radius of the Rocket is huge and if you sprint during the flight the rocket gains enough speed to oneshot every unit in the radius. I can only imagine what a squad of 4 or more boys with one of these all firing at once could do hehe^^ Highly recommended its hillarious^^
I learned about it a couple years back and queued up a mission playlist consisting of maps with vechi that were relatively easy to hit the weak point to grind it out, it's cool being able to pull out a remote rocket on demand.
Some things about the video: For Knightfall you can repair the bookshelf’s which means you could have completed the book section with no kills. Naboo is indeed possible to beat with just the queen being killed.
You'll lose bookshelves anyway since they'll spawn in almost immediately and destroy several of them. And repairing them os a good idea, the Jedi would just target you eventually and it takes awhile to repair
Great video! Just some light criticism: Try adjusting mic settings to prevent breath feedback from your mic (it's kind of distracting as I use headphones and can constantly hear it.) Other than that, you just need to clean up editing between sequences/scenes and you got a 10/10 video. All in all, the structuring and pacing is great, excellent choice in music and the chapter timestamps show you put great care and effort into the video. Just need to go that extra step to bring everything closer to perfection.
There may be a way to not kill any jedi during the defense of the holo books. You can repair the books shelfs as the engineer. I always used to strat to protect just one book shelf
It is theoretically possible to get less kills on Corruscant in the library. You can actually repair the shelves like how in space battles you can repair the shield generator for your ship if it ever gets destroyed though it does take awhile so rng will also be a factor there
Regarding killing the Jedi masters as Anakin, you could theoretically put them in an infinite force choke, they'd be stuck in place and would then be free to be shot at or blown up by nearby clones. (If you don't know the infinite choke glitch, since it's primarily a Hero Assault thing, you just swap your power from force choke to saber throw while still holding down the choke). Doing this also gives you more freedom to move around, you can even sprint while choking like this, although you would very quickly run out of range for the choke.
Dropped a sub because it’s a fun video. My good faith criticism would be to do with the audio; no problem with your voice or narration, I just found the mic pops distracting. Regardless, well done on that viewcount my dude.
Totally understandable critique! I'm still fairly new to the RU-vid game and had no idea that this video would get the traction that it's getting. but if I do any more videos like this in the future, then I'll definitely look into getting a condenser mic and pop filter for a better listening experience. Appreciate the sub and thanks for the support!
@@Kazumus_Speedruns you don't need a condenser microphone, but a pop filter and even a Shure SM58 will do the job. Let me know if you need more details I'll help you get setup on a budget
@@Kazumus_Speedruns of course bro, I’m just glad people still play this game because I’m just getting into it after the last time I played it was when I was like 5
Great video! Just for the future, I notice a lot of pop coming from your mic. Maybe you should try this again in MP so you can turn me into an RTS unit. Keep em' coming!
This appeared in my recommendations, and i gotta say, this was very fun to watch, i learned a lot and got to see some more life in a childhood game i used to play
This is the first video of yours I've seen, it just randomly popped into my feed just now. I had a blast watching it. If you post more like this, I will definitely be subscribing
The knightfall mission doesn't require more than the master kills if you pick an engineer you can hang out in the corner of the upstairs area you can just keep your repair tool on one book case and it goes relatively easily besides you can also keep repairing more to pull aggro
I can't tell u how hard I started weeping when u had to kill 6 of those stick bug things. The blownout sound effects and didgeridoo music helped but I won't ever be the same
Bless the algorithm, for I've come across gold. A challenge run of a classic PS2 game. Yum yum. i did not know you could fix the wall at Kashyyyk. Every time I was there I had to painstakingly protec the refinery in tanks and barely do so. Oof, the books are truly difficult to protec.
You might be able to cut down on alot of the jedi kills on Coruscant, during the defense of the bookcase objective you can use a fusion cutter to repair the bookshelves
1. Great video!! Very fun to watch! 2. Music is WAY too loud, I can't hear you at parts 3. Mic pops are an issue and are very distracting. THANKS for your hard work this video is great
RU-vidr T-West plays Age of Empires II (my favourite game) campaigns the "pacifist" way, without killing. What a great coincidence that you do the same for one of my other favourites! Love it.
some of the audio edits are a bit too loud relative to your voice aside from that, cool video. never played this game, but you've shown it off in an interesting way
I-is that Star Wars GBA music I hear? Man, you've just got so much of my childhood wrapped up in one video. Also, you know engineers can repair the bookshelves on Knightfall, right?
I had no idea that only the tanks could destroy the refinery on the Kashyyyk mission, that knowledge would have saved me from so much pain back in the day.. I still struggle with that mission now
I mean the Acklays were just wildlife, who cares about those💀 In all honesty, great video though, nice to see some classic Battlefront Content again :)
I could not be there for the premiere but it was a super enjoyable video to watch. Very nice flow. Can't believe you used a SACRELIGOUS FF7 track after using a bunch of FF6 tracks. The Hoth Tragedy meme grows ever stronger lol.
@@Kazumus_Speedruns The FF7 track was indeed the right pick for that section, I was just being a memelord with my FF ost knowledge. I will be on the lookout for your next project!
A fun video. Like the effort you put in and glad you didn't end it immediately after the first mandatory kill(s). The frequent mic pops do distract me terribly though
