OK you just cleared a big thing. I rented this game, did like 100% when it came out, had fun. Then, years later I bought it again and...it was entirely different compared to how I remembered it. I knew there was different versions, but my child brain thought I played in on the gamecube, but I was in fact playing on the PS2 version which is why I was so confused. All in all, thank you

I've played 4 different versions of this game with the 360, wii, psp and that el crappo phone version shown right at the end. Honestly would say that all in all the PSP version is the single greatest version of this game by far. It has the greatest content available at the cost of low end graphics. This game displays the absolute embodiment of why modern gaming sucks. The content is all there and it's all amazingly good fun to play.

for some reason i REALLY love the very specific graphics of around 2008. Force unleashed, Fallout 3 and new vegas great examples, ect. They were getting really good at making things realistic while still having things have a beauty of simplicity. Also, from maybe 2014 onward all the games got into the uncanny valley where we can tell its supposed to look human but just looks off because its not.

@@a.o.skurtt I definetely prefer graphics and the world of Fallout 4 over the previous titles, I like how they took Boston with the Victorian buildings and color scheme, added in the 1950s color schemes of "modern buildings" rising over a older Town, it's gloomy but it just work with the colors. The colorless grey of 3 and the Yellow cowboy tint of Vegas didn't do it for me. Still enjoyed these games ofc. A lot of games from 2014 on did a lot of things prior decade did badly and improved it, but failed at what made games good before 2014 on. What makes FALLOUT 4 works is the Artstyle. The power armor was an amazing improvement and so was a lot of things, but all the improvements cut in on the story creation and instead of taking the assets and create a new game with a good story, Bethesda opted for a Online experience 😒 which is why MS bought them, they want that Online money grad game that they can milk like GTA5.

It actually makes me realize that it's kind of weird that this kind of balanced approach is so rare on RU-vid. Why is that, I wonder? Clearly people don't have to take extreme views on something as innocuous as action video games in order to be entertaining, yet many do anyway. Starkiller was trained by Darth vader over 10 years. While Cal was still a young padawan. Who for a time had not stretched his force muscles so to speak. Keep in mind also that Starkiller, had no qualms about the darkside. So his power would have been more amplified by the darkside. While as Cal stayed in the light, not using the full range of what the Force could do. Again, love the video and keep up the good work 😁

I had the ps2 version first too, that was when I found out that not all consoles have the same features and not all versions of a video game are the same even though the console I have is in the same family, Yeah it was a surprise when I played it and it looked nothing like the ps3 version plus it was dark and hard to see sometimes. It was fun but the best level in the ps2 version was the cloud city mission where you have to find your way through a army of mercenaries including a small group of mandalorians and save a senator.

12:11 The weirdest part of the Krome version is how you don't fight Stormtroopers until the Death Star level. The average grunt is an "Imperial Navy Commando" which are just the Navy slapping together gear and trying to prove they can provide their own "Marines" and don't need Stormtroopers. They make sense on SOME levels but not nearly all of em.

seeing some of the grandiose setpeices used in the flagship, I actually think the wii's version, though graphically downgraded, actually looks better thematically. Playing the switch port right now and the sequence under the jedi temple is honestly atmospherically gorgeous and I love every second of it. Something about the smaller scale makes the developers put more creativity into the environments, I think.

5:36 i don't believe this is in inconsistency. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that when you find Kota, Starkiller says that he tracked him from Nar Shadaa, meaning they went there first and were able to find there way to him in Cloud City Edit: I went and found the scene to fact check myself, and yeah, he basically says he started at Nar Shadaa and tracked him from there

I think it's really cool to see the different creative choices in each. One I particularly remember is that in the Wii version, when SK presents Kota's saber to Vader, Vader uses the force to forcefully take it from his belt before he can extend it, whereas in the flagship version, SK kneels with it presented and Vader picks it up with the force. Kinda liked the Wii version of that scene better, made Vader seem more menacing

Like others have pointed out, yeah the DS touch controls were bit underwhelming at first, but you didn't really touch upon the movement combos that are possible. Absolutely loved the krome version. Its simplicity and sometimes better level design made me love it when I was younger. Also loved visiting the Jedi Trials and beating them as starkiller as we see his story progress. Also the mission on cloud city in the krome version is way better. We also get Nar shadaa. The only thing I hate about both games is you visit the planets twice. For story purposes it works, seeing what starkiller has brought to the once better and somewhat thriving planets. But they really overdo it

Back in the day I always thought it was dumb that games got such different versions on different systems. These days I kinda miss it though, I've grown an appreciation for the idea of going through more or less the same story again but in a different way. If you don't really like one version, you could give another a try and see if it's more your cup of tea. These days games are more expensive to make and take longer to develop, so we don't really get anything like this very often anymore.

16:16 Interesting thing about those pirates. Other than the mandalorians who lead them, a LOT of them are from traditionally enslaved groups in the Star Wars EU and movies. Female Twileks, Talz (The four eyed fuzzball medics), actually not sure if the Whiphids(The big tusked ones with Axes) are enslaved but they're big and furry and the empire tends to oppress those sorts. There's also a couple Ithorans and the requisite Gran Grenadiers.

To answer your question about the Imperials on Raxus Prime, they were using it as a giant resource farm for building Imperial I Star Destroyers, which were constructed in an orbital shipyard. All that scrap all over the surface of the planet? The Imperials were melting it down to build their ships. They basically melted into gigantic balls of molten metal, then use the giant rail cannon to shoot it into orbit where it would be captured (presumably by a Tractor Beam of some kind), then sculped into the parts needed for Star Destroyers. You actually use the cannon to shoot one those molten balls _at_ the station directly, which their tractor beam wasn't designed to handle.

I consider the Wii version to be the "canon" one. as it's already a stretch that Kota somehow survived his fight with Starkiller, but in the Wii version Kota is found on Nar SHadaa, the planet the Tie Fighter Factory was over, it makes sense being blinded that Kota would just hide out on the seedy planet where he nearly died, rather then hoping on a ship and heading across the galaxy to Bespin. Plus Bespin does show up later in the Wii version anyway in a more sensible way.

The Empire on Raxus Prime, if I recall right in lore, was mining up and refining the scrap, where they then launched it up to their space station above that took that raw material and turned it into Star Destroyers, TIE fighters, AT-ATs, etc.
