Is it Possible to Make the Worst Super Mario Maker 2 Levels Even Worse?

There are tons of different types of bad levels in Super Mario Maker 2. There are levels where all there is to do, is to swim through a seemingly never ending corridor, there are levels where we have to pick one out of four doors, while three of them immediately kill us, and there are many other horrible types of Super Mario Maker 2 levels. But while such Super Mario Maker 2 levels are definitely horrible, they also raise a question, that we as Super Mario Maker 2 scientists simply can’t ignore? Can we do worse? Is it possible to improve those horrible Super Mario Maker 2 levels, in such a way that they become much much worse? Well, today we are going to finally answer this eternal question, because today we will take a look at pick a door, empty swim, leap of faith, find the invisible block and enemy spam levels, and we will try to worsen all of those Super Mario Maker 2 levels.

Now combine them all into one level. A level where the player has to survive a wave of spammed enemies while avoiding stars and also finding the hidden block with a key. They can only jump twice until they reach the end of the level: a randomised leap of faith followed my a randomised pick-a-door, all while the game is running at a mere 8 frames per second to maximise suffering. A true masterpiece of torture Edit: And tag it as multiplayer

Another way to worsen pick a door: Make a looot of dark rooms that look exactly the same, every door you pick leads to another room that looks equal, but only after a high amount of X doors you see if you failed or not, never knowing which door you picked wrong.

a blind jump into a pipe leading to pile of enemies covering a hidden key block for a pick-a-door reached after a swim maze...and the (randomized) doors need to be verified by another long swim maze leading to a blind jump through a one-block gap surrounded by spikes into the goal. And the whole stage lags.

@@lorisflowey8152 There's a metric on your levels that tells you how many times your level has been played in multiplayer mode. My levels actually tagged "Multiplayer" mostly have been played 0 times in multiplayer and a few have been played 1 time. Themed-tagged and autoMario-tagged seem to actually be far MORE likely to get picked for multiplayer for some reason. My multiplayer-tagged levels seem to get less used for multiplayer even than my speedrun-tagged levels.

To build it, I just needed a twig, a lighter and that's it. The logic behind is is rather complex, so I wont dwel into it in this interview. More ways to make them worse: Mix and match them, add multiple throughout the level to worsen the RNG, and shorten the time and enable auto-scrolling of the level during find the hidden key & the herds of enemies.

Another way you could improve (?) a hidden key level is to make it underwater. That way, there are more spots where you could hide the key, because you have more vertical access.

Well, let's break it up into parts: global - He is referring to global ground in MM2, which means that it will not be offloaded when you move any distance away from it, which is solved by the icicles since they are global ground in MM2. asynchronous - Basically means two or more things happening independently/separately from something else. The timer is not dependent on anything else in the game but the set-up. timer - I assume you understand this part. If not, let me know.

Anon archist, clown cars aren’t actually random anymore. For them to randomize, you need some actions before they trigger to give them some randomness.

@@riogois3009 well there is one: the way they shoot fireballs is different: Luigi is slightly taller, so fireballs are a bit higher, toads are shorter, so theres are lower.

The anti-jump mechanic can be cheesed by jumping back to the spawn point after jumping once in the field of yellow blocks, and then waiting for the P-switch timer to run out. Unless you add a way for both the shell and the P-Switch to be replaced after use, as well as the on/off block to reset to the default colour.

Good video, but there is still a problem with the door one... you can just hear the on off block when it gets activated, and if you know that if it is then you should go for one of the ones to the right... it’s still random there, but the stage is not as random anymore...
