Is it Possible to Recover from Myasthenia Gravis?

Myasthenia Gravis and Graves Disease (autoimmune disease) changed my life. They affect the immune system, thymus gland and thyroid. Is there a cure or only remission? How can I recover from MG and Graves Disease (hyperthyroidism)? Are these really chronic illnesses?
I was diagnosed in 2015, I quickly looked for treatments that would help me. My muscles became very weak, I had a thymoma (enlarged thymus gland). I decided not to a have a surgical thymectomy (operation). Myasthenia involves a disorder of the thymus gland, but I believe the thymus is still needed. I had a rapid period of deterioration over that year and a almost miraculous bounce back the following year after implementing a lot of changes in my life. I have been successful in certain areas, but not in others yet. I am hoping that this channel can inspire other 'chronically' ill people and be able to present some of the information and changes that I think have helped me. Information about health, how to recover and how I got into remission and how I want to go way past that.
This is my first RU-vid video. This is an introduction into the thoughts behind why I want to start a channel and why RU-vid. As well as a brief insight into why I am so determined to recover over the long term.
The plan is to show long term improvement. So that's why I want to start now (actually wanted to start before) so that there will be videos to look back on and show the improvements and the journey as a whole.

Hey Ross, I have had MG for over 20 years. I am now 45 and have become stronger than I was before my diagnoses. I lift weights and am stronger and more fit than 20 year olds. I do everything natural NO STEROIDS! I have a black belt in taekwondo and have done everything I have wanted. I was very weak when i first got MG but now I am doing so great. I want to write a book on healthy eating with MG or at least give a talk on it. I am a culinary grad from the CIA and would like to create a cookbook. I came across your channel. I wish you the very best! Above all faith is the most important thing in becoming stronger. Without Jesus I would not be where i am today. God bless.

hey Aaron That's an awesome story. There's so much to like in your comment. Faith is the foundation of recovering for me. Where are you from? Maybe we can do a stream and you can tell your story. I am still getting into RU-vid, but interviewing and sharing other people MGs stories is something I would like to do, if you would want to?

Thank you so much for creating this channel, Ross. I suddenly became very ill with MG at 27 years old with 2 young children. It was detrimental. I have the same convictions of you and have worked very hard to recover as naturally as possible. I rely heavily on mestinon fir function. I'm 3 years into MG and I'm slowly getting to where i want to be. Heavy metals and nutrition was huge piece for me. I'm also so thankful for the comment section in this video.. these testimonials are so much encouragement for me as someone who is praying and working towards recovery for sustainable health.

If you seem my video about top resources where I mention the online copy of an MG book, that is sort of the basis for my eating. Low polyunsaturated fat, lower phosphorus relative to calcium, more glycine/gelatin rich proteins over methionine proteins, and then getting manganese rich foods in too. I had a big focus on stress reduction in terms or diet (easier to digest foods), lifestyle (stopped studying and work for a bit), sleep/exercise/circadian rhythm (used to be awake at night a lot), and then relationships too

I would try relax. It takes a long time to recover and to reverse. So everyone needs to be patient, learn as much as they can, make a plan and then try to execute that plan. A book called "the thymus, myasthenia gravis and manganese" is available online. That is the most useful information I can recommend. It doesn't improve overnight even with a perfect diet and lifestyle. I only took mestinon, but I focused on rest, recovery and making all my meals myself. I stopped university and work to recover.
