honestly, even if she doesn't think the ghost is real, the main character handles this p badly from the beginning, like it'd be most logical to assume an old person seeing a ghost kid is suffering from dementia, and you're just not supposed to argue with people who have dementia about their delusions, it just confuses them more and upsets them.

This was a great story with an interesting twist. But the protagonist is definitely not a professionally trained or experienced home health care aid. More like a caring relative or young neighbor that the family could hire cheap. No professional would talk to the old man that way or argue about his delusions. That being said, the young person did what was best. The ghost was malicious, and physically hurting the old man, so what else could he do? Get the old guy a dog from a shelter to keep him company, or arrange for visitors. Way better than inviting something supernatural into the house. I could suggest a great follow up to this story. Suppose because of the "open invitation" more than one ghost moves into the house? So they end up with the company of a dozen or more ghosts?

Home health doesn't trim hedges either. I think he was just a paid person that sits with elderly. When I sat with elderly, I bathed dogs, did laundry, even mowed grass a few times during their naps if their family requested it.

Man... All the creepy pastas I've heard today are fantastic, but are completely heart breaking. One had the entire family of the main character killed by a psyco masked intruder, and now this. A poor old man crushed by the fact that the evil spirit he thought was his dead grandson was exorsised. Even though it tried killing him multiple times. All because he misses his deceast grandson so much. It just makes you want to cry... 😢😢😢

Try the creepypasta “doors”. That’s the saddest one I know. It has amazing a foreshadowing of a well portrayed twist that breaks the listeners heart. One of the best creepypastas imo

@@NoNo-hk5np The one that broke my heart the hardest that I listened to so far was the Old Uncle Henry's farm saga Grant it that one hit pretty close to home for me due to my own personal events when I heard it. So it may or may not cause the same level of heart break with others as it did me. I was full on bawling my eyes out at the very end, and writing a thoughtful comment for it at it's final conclusion But then again alot of other comments for that one were mentioning it left them in tears too...

Not likely. If you’ve ever worked with someone with dementia, it’s more detrimental to deny their beliefs than it is to humor them. You can explain that YOU can’t see whatever it is, but also add that you understand that they DO see it. It’s acknowledging their experience without confirming it’s real.

Ok, so this is my honest review of OP. First of all, OP does not have the attitudes required to work in healthcare (hello healthcare worker hope y’all having a good day and a aceptable amount of patients 😌). If you can’t work around your frustrations you can’t work in healthcare, specially geriatrics. Second point, if your patient is having hallucinations you’re supposed to reorient them as much as possible but if they have hallucinations regularly and they can’t be reoriented your not supposed to put them in distress, you just let them be and make sure you keep an eye on them to keep the safe. I give OP one star out of five for their healthcare skills. I’ll let the other part for y’all to rate because “holly hell you is dumb but I don’t want to keep writing” 😂🤣😂🤣

yep. dementia runs in my family, if they want to see someone dead you don't tell them their dead you refocus them into something like getting ready to visit said person or make something for the person when they come to visit.

I've suffered delusions and hallucinations. My husband doesn't try to persuade me of their falsehood. But he tries to adjust my focus instead. Thankfully my meds I'm on now do the trick. But arguing with a delusional person isn't all that effective.

No it's not possible that's why most people ensure they only cleanse a place thing or person of anything that intends to do harm or any malevolent forces that way only bad or negative beings are sent away while the ones that are just wondering or actually mean no harm are still allowed to remain. This is why people who don't know what they are doing should either leave the spiritual rebuking alone or get someone more proficient to do it lol not all spirits are bad and some actually do more good then harm. Great story incredibly sad but I tend to get more invested in the sadder tales they make me feel deeper and I enjoy that even with the sadness lmao nothing so good a little bad can't make it better and nothing so bad a little good can't make all the difference.
