Is it possible to start collecting MOTU Origins in 2023 [at retail price]?

Great video mate, I have just picked up a He-man and Skeletor for €15 a piece (I’m in Holland by the way), and am now considering get a few more to mix in with my vintage MOTU. These new ones look great and to my mind are fantastic value especially when yo compare them to the Hasbro Star Wars vintage and retro collection prices.

If you’re in the USA, then yeah, it’s easy to do. However, if you’re international (like Australia), good luck. Stock disappears quickly thanks to resellers/scalpers, and stores don’t stock them unless you go to collectors stores which charge 2-3 times the retail price.

Good topic. Even if someone is late to the game, there's still time to catch up. It would be a lot easier and less expensive now than if they waited a few years, like it would be to start collecting MOTU Classics now. For Origins, Waves 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 might be a little hard to come by, but most can still be found for only about 50% more than the original retail price. Still quite reasonable considering the price of action figures in general these days. At this point, Tri-Klops would probably be the most expensive, but I'd bet he can be found for about $40 - $50, and maybe less if you can make friends with someone who bought multiples and can convince them to trade or sell you one at or near retail. Same with the Mattel Creations exclusives. Also, it's a fun collector community to be part of, and that's a bonus.

Yeah true story. With a few exceptions you can get most of them easily. Now if you are a completionist and want the exclusives as well you’ll be spending some $$$$$.
