I weirdly think Vessel made this song sound so much darker than it did before. Something about it being so stripped down with just his vocals and the piano gives it a whole new feeling. The original still has a fairly melancholic feel to it, but less so as the vocals and guitar still feel rather warm and inviting. But this, feels almost cold in comparison, and really made me look at the lyrics differently.
I agree. Something tells me he really was feeling the song lyrically. Loathe had a hint of romance and hope left in it. This makes it sound like a funeral.
@@kyleburns1340yea vessel makes the chorus sound like his lover just died and he wants to join them like hes got so much guttural pain in his vocals. always.
I'll never get enough of Vessel's voice, it's like the whole world stops everytime I hear him, it goes straight to my soul. I wasn't ready for this one!
I hope Vessel knows how talented and special he is. This was beautiful and captivating. His Artistry is on a different level. I love hearing anything Sleep Token does but this stripped down version was just beautifully raw. Loathe, the lyrics, beautifully written as well. ❤
Honestly, I prefer that version since it's still Loathe as far as I can tell, just edited and remixed. The progression almost adds more emotion to the original. This one, I'm pretty sure is re-recorded by the guy from Sleep Token. While I really like more soft instrumental sound, I don't dig this dude's weird distorted voice.
PSA: If you like Teenage Wrist and are somehow not aware of his main project - The Chain Gang of 1974 - check it out too. It's pretty different, very heavily 80s-inspired, but the man is so damn talented.
I actually wanna hear Loathe tackle Calcutta or The Offering, something that they could totally timbrally evole but still maintain the flavour of the original like this one.
That high note in the background chorus during the…well, chorus, is amazingly high for that chord and blew me away when I heard it. Legit goosebumps along with my coworker who was listening at the time! Vessel never disappoints
Absolutely hauntingly beautiful!!! Their voices are truly amazing together!! Vessel's voice is beyond amazing and love listening to him! Also the pure beauty of the piano just enhances the power of this song and their voices
this is exactly what i wanted out of this collaboration, it shows the amazing song writing that loathe has to offer with the piano arrangement, and Vessle's vocals fit the song so well and are so hauntingly amazing, absolutely love it, would love to see what loathe could do with High Water or Gods, think theyd knock those out of the park
That was really beautiful. Loathe is one of the few metalcore bands that I still really enjoy, and Sleep Token, although not really my thing, are a very special band. Vessel has a incredible voice and it shined so much here, and wow, that chord progression... I wish I could've written that. It starts so calm and sad, and then takes that harmonic minor (I think) twist on the last chord to really make it dark and dramatic. A truly chilling song, I absolutely love it.
This dude Vessel has a much more beautiful sound than even Ed Sheeran. Yeh maybe it’s because I LOVE that haunting sound, but damnit man! Dudes KILLING IT!
I’ve actually gotten to watch loathe live before and I didn’t know anything about them at first but was hooked in right away. Then a few months later I think I heard this version and that’s when Sleep Token hit my radar hard and now I can’t stop listening to either. I guess you can call that a win win, now Sleep Token concert near me needs to happen lol.
It’s so hauntingly and powerfully eerie and beautiful. Someone made an awesome edit on RU-vid with the original instrumentals for this track with Vessel’s vocals on top, and it’s also top tier content.
ST is literally just regular dudes that happen to be fantastic musicians. Not big industry names in any way whatsoever. Blew my mind when I found this out. Someone’s neighbor is Vessel, and they have no idea.
I'd go old school Sleepy Boy and say Jaws or When the Bough Breaks. They'd give lots of options for creativity so that's what I'd like go see. Or Hypnosis. Maybe Hypnosis...😅
What a haunting song yo, I'd love to hear your reaction to another one should both of these acts colab ever again my brudah. Much love, stay & awesome yo!
@@CFChristian there is mini maggit and pink maggit both same song but the root chord progression is basically the same ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v8f8WQ85Qb0.html
I don't know if you were into Destroy Rebuild God Shows but Craig Owens reformed the band and released a new song with Jona Weinhofen and Aaron Patrick.
While I think the original is superior hearing this song in a fairly different way is really cool. Especially since i've listened to the original about 1000 times at this point. I wonder if there're more collabs coming? Also have you checked out the new Greyhaven track Foreign Anchor? That shit is fucking fantastic.
