Indoor season is over for the majority of users so I dont see a big change happening soon. George Gilbert worked with Zwift before so I recon there must be conversations between both parties. But that also indicates he could have pushed for implementation of the positives (build-in duals etc) of IndieVelo on Zwift and, as it wasn't implemented in Zwift, it must have been blocked by Zwift.
Hey Mick, I was reading this about modding and Indievelo, interesting what they say regarding other parties using integration into "own user engine". I've no idea what it means. wiki.indievelo.com/docs/modding-and-custom-uis/
Yes! All it would need is the influx of numbers for me to call it my #1 platform. Unfortunately the social side Zwift still own, and make it so much fun despite its flaws. Hopefully people see content like this and not be resistant to change!
I'd say some web based rankings, a few weekly events that pick up in popularity with legit guys (like say Kiss racing on zwift), and the racing can take off. But the rankings were always a good motivation for Zwift racing (and finding good events), I think IV gets that more at the forefront and racing can gain more steam.
@@MashPotato one thing we need to workout is Bluetooth for steering (and in my case virtual gearing). Any ideas for Bluetooth devices? It would be great making full use of the crosswinds. Also I'll send feedback requesting mappable hotkeys like in flight sims/sim racing so people don't need to use 3rd party apps that required far too much faffing about.
Got an email about game controllers now being supported after making the post above, great timing. Ordered the Avotro lol, cheaper than buying a new di2 battery for my gears.
Might give this a go following the Zwift price hike - not sure on the virtual gearing options with my Kickr bike though, as that has virtual gears anyway, so will have to try and see how that works. Looks interesting though, I think it will gain a lot of people trying it out with the price increase.
The kickr bike buttons will work in-game from what I understand, so you can steer. I assume the gear shifts on the kickr bike and the assigned buttons in indieVelo are different, but let me know when you find out. I don't have access to a kickr bike. Also I've setup an event tomorrow at 10am UTC time, there is no bots apart from the neutral zone bot. It will be a good test event and I hope to setup more if we can get some people from zwift to give it a go. indievelohub.com/11371/signup
@@titaniumben9923 Couldn't resist trying it out, so just went for a quick 30 min ride. Can confirm all the Kickr bike buttons work and the tilt mechanism too. Really impressed actually. The gears just work as they should (ignore the in game virtual gears) and the inside buttons work to choose left or right side of the lane. Top front button changes camera angle. A little getting used to the screen but they've made it close enough to Zwift that people moving over from it won't feel it's completely alien. I think Zwift could be in trouble if more people find out about this.
@@noggintube great to hear, thanks for letting me know. I really hope we can attract some brilliant minds into the platform, being based on the unreal engine I think there is a huge potential in mods like you see in other genres in regards to graphics. There is a couple of other things I can think of that a community could make too.
