Kinda sucks that they killed the Minis after only two generations. Hope that the next SE (which will be there, knowing how well it is selling...) is a reincarnation of one of the Minis.
Where is the XR? Has it all except for the ultrawide camera and costs waay less than the 11. Got mine used but in pristine condition off Facebook Marketplace for around 110$. Even with 86% battery health, has enough juice for 5h of screen time... while an iPhone 8 with the same health lasted me for a bit less than 2h. Battery life estimates you've shown are not correct tho: even with 100% battery health, real use case scenarios will drain the battery a lot faster. And with used phones you also get em worn to around 85% on average. On the used market I've noticed that the XR is waaay easier to find for cheap than the XS, with the latter one selling for 200$ and up most of the time. Another model worth looking at on a low budget is the 2020 SE model. Now that it's been almost three years since its release and contracts have finished, a lot of people are selling them online and the abundance has dropped the price quite low. For the same 100-150$ that you can get an XR for you can get two more years of software updates and faster, more recent hardware in a smaller package.
the battery health is for streaming time. streaming a video uses less power than actively scrolling and browsing. that 24hr figure is actually accurate for the iPhone 14 plus if its just streaming youtube
the prices i used were for apple or bestbuy certified pre-owned devices. obviously buying third party will be cheaper but this video was for people who might not be able to find a good used deal like that. I didn't include the XR because it's about $299 and i figure, why would you get that when you could get an iPhone XS for $289 and get an OLED display, stainless steel chassis, and 2x telephoto. the XR just doesnt make sense to get in the certified pre-owned category.
