Great overview of using Awesome Golf with Rapsodo. I agree 100% on your suggestions for improving AG as well. I bought it the day I got my R10 and I absolutely love it. I still think the coaching and approach sections are two of the best tools I've seen on any simulator app. I will also like to point out that with the v.3.0.0 firmware upgrade and using a Bluetooth connection to Awesome Golf, I am able to play for hours on my MLM2PRO without any disconnects and the only misreads are expected. I found there are two instances where it misreads consistently - swinging too quickly after initially placing the ball and severe mishits/shanks. For the first one, the LM must require some limited period of time to lock onto the ball before it can be measured. However, I did find that the Rapsodo was almost unusable if I connected using the Awesome Golf Assistant (frequent disconnections and over 50% of the shots missed).
Thanks mate! I'm keen to try it out after the update. Very interesting with your mis-reads I will try and replicate the quick place and hit. Yeah the ranges and the accuracy are really the selling point for me.. I just love that table view that gives you all the averages and deviation. It's so well laid out and looks really clean. I would love to see a few updates and enhancements though.. it's been a while since we had any really new features, courses, games.
Another informative and entertaining video Joe. 👍I'm an R10 user who bought Awesome Golf almost immediately. Haven't really used the games section but trying to sink those boats looks like fun. Shame about the Rapsodo misreads eating up the clock! 😂 Instead of using club distances to map my bag I just use the coaching session and record all the data club by club there. Then you get average carry distance plus all the other metrics at your fingertips. I usually hit 6-10 shots per club and you can also delete the poor strikes. That solves your gripe about carry distance vs total distance. I also hope they introduce more virtual courses. Hopefully 18 holes and more like a proper layout, i.e. 2 par 5s, 2 par 3s and 5 par 4s per 9. The 3 of each setup is a bugbear of mine. The par 3s are probably my least favourite holes to play so would prefer there were only 2 per 9 rather than 3. We just have to wait and see. The only improvements in the almost a year I've owned it was the graphics upgrade and the ability to download the data.
Hey mate yes the coaching section is definitely the go for doing the gapping session I agree. Yeah the updates seem to be very very steady... I'm really hoping for some more updates as again I LOVE Awesome Golf but with a few very minor changes or additions it could be absolutely amazing!!
Thanks mate! No so I actually grew up in the states (Texas) and started playing golf there so I've always just stayed in yards.. I always had a laser and just never switched it over to meters. Trust me my mates always give it to me whenever we play lol 😂. I don't hear the end of it!! But now I'm just not going to change to be stubborn 🤣🤣

Hey Sean that's a very tough question right now.. I think if all you want is a product to hit balls with the Rapsodo MLM2PRO is the best as you will get accurate spin axis and incredibly accurate data. You will have to pay subscription fees each year for this though.. and use the RPT balls. If you want a product that can do everything from accurate ball and club data (spin axis is the only big issue), SIM GOLF (Hooked up to GS Pro) and is really at peak performance in terms of the software (incredible chipping). Then the R10 is for you. I do think the MLM2PRO will get there.. I really do. It just needs a lot more work done to it to refine the software and user experience. Hope that helps.
Aloha Joe, Great video and overview! I'm still deciding between the R10 and MLM2 Pro. Had a quick easy question (sort of). How are you interfacing your phone or tablet with your overhead projector? Are you mirroring your iphone or tablet to a windows based laptop, or can the iphone talk directly to the overhead projector? I wasn't sure how the video display was affected when going from the phone to the laptop (or from the phone/tablet to the projector). I'm hoping to go with a 16:10 aspect ratio for the impact screen, Benq LK936 4K, and a 16:10 4k laptop. thanks and sorry about the long question! John
Hey John no problem at all mate. So I just use am HDMI cable. It's around 10 meters long that I bought from Amazon. I have tacked it to the roof and then ran it down the wall and connect it to my computer or iPad (with USB C to HDMI adaptor). I have heard of people plugging in an apple tv to their projectors and just mirroring their screens but for me I wanted a solid connection. Cheers

Hey Gordon so I just go through the exact same process launch the Rapsodo app and then 3rd party apps and do the connection. From there open Awesome Golf and select the Rapsodo and then select connect via Bluetooth.
it says my trial period has ended. Do we only get awesome golf for 14 days with the mlm2pro. I was having so many issues with the connection i was never even able to try it successfully! :(
Hey mate yes there is only a 14 day free trial period for Awesome Golf. If you reach out to support and explain the situation they might help you out with an extension to your trial... Worth a shot.
Hey John I can't speak on the voice caddy unfortunately I have reached out to them but they haven't got back to me about a testing unit.. In terms of accuracy of ball flight between the MLM2PRO and the Garmin R10 the Rapsodo wins hands down. The ability for the unit indoors to read spin axis is a game changer. However you are going to pay for it through the yearly subscriptions and to have that accurate data it relies on using the RCT balls. The Rapsodo doesn't give you any club path data or face angle data which is a real shame. I would get the Rapsodo is your priority is to hit full shots and you want accurate ball flight indoors. As for the Garmin it's a great little unit it gives you club data of course a lot of it is estimated but it is incredibly accurate once you have the alignment correct. All of the metrics are within very tight tolerances. The best thing about the Garmin is the ability to hook up and play Sim golf. There is a direct connection to your laptop and you can play GS Pro which is next level software. If you are after a unit that offers more of a simulator experience and using awesome golf gives really accurate data then the R10 is your unit. Be aware the gear effect with the woods will throw off the ball flight so you aren't always going to have accurate ball flights indoors. Hope this helps! Cheers
Is there anyway you can test/show what the MLM 2 Pro can do without the membership? Will it work with Awesome Golf, and will it show spin with the RPT ball?
Hey Goonie so without the subscription you will only get access to the practice range section and there will be very limited data storage for swings. You won't get access to the combines section or the simulation section. This means you won't be able to connect to 3rd party applications like E6 or Awesome Golf without the subscription. You will also not be able to use the RPT balls. So pretty much without the subscription it is extremely limited. Hope that helps

Hey TJ I think it was in my round up video. But to get it a bit cheaper I bought apple gift cards that were on discount for 10 percent off and then bought the awesome golf subscription through the apple play store so effectively got it for 10 percent off. If you can try find people selling apple gift cards the quite often go on FB marketplace for cheaper than the actual card amount. You just need to be careful and make sure they are legit. Cheers
Great video! Loving all of your content. How has your connectivity been using the awesome golf app? I love the app but I can’t play a round or even nine holes without being disconnected and losing all my progress in the round. I’ve tried using my home Wi-Fi and the mlm2pro local Wi-Fi but it’s still the same result. At this point I have no idea what to do. Do you have any suggestions?
Hey Dustin thanks for that mate! So awesome golf has been one of the better ones for me.. e6 has been horrible!! For me what made it the most stable is using my mobile hotspot and connecting my iPad and MLM2PRO to that. I'm still testing but to me I'm starting to think it's my wifi router that's the issue. It's incredibly stable with the wifi hotspot method. This obviously isn't ideal as I'm then using mobile data! I have had a lot of success with the direct connection method as well. Finally the last thing is the distance you have your mobile device away from your unit.. I have actually found that if it's closer to the unit then my connection is more stable. Hope that helps!
Hey Patrick yes you will get the free e6 courses like you do with the Garmin R10! So it's 5 free courses for life. Not sure on the club data for the Rapsodo.. unless they want to do some estimated data like the Garmin does. I haven't heard anything on that subject though unfortunately.
Hey mate I've answered this a few times and my answer remains the same... It all depends on your use case. If you only want it for accurate numbers (spin axis and shot shape) on the range or at home doing full swings then the Rapsodo hands down. If you're after a unit that does it all including connecting to GS Pro and is better for home Sim golf then the R10.. nothing as well that you don't have subscription fees! The only thing you have to be aware of is that spin axis or shot shape isn't going to be accurate all the time. Cheers
Hey mate you can get the licence swapped over to your MLM2PRO but if you want to use both launch monitors they do unfortunately need their own licence.
Got both R10 and MLM2PRO. Haven't paid for AG yet. In the video I did hear you mention with the R10 you got AG discounted. Does the discount also apply for the MLM2PRO and if sohow do you get the discounts for both R10 and MLM2PRO?
Hey Chris yeah it is definitely in need of some software improvements... It was a very rough start for the product!! I'm hoping now with the new updates it will start to perform! And I'm super keen to start seeing some application improvements... It might be a fully working product by this time next year 🤣. Us early adopters definitely took the hit!! I'm really hoping it will love up to its potential 🤞🤞
I just returned my still sealed Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro for a refund. The subscription for getting features they are advertising with, the use of special balls, the software bugs and the R10 offering more at a cheaper price point made me reconsider and return. Maybe in the future this thing will be a good option for some.....but when will this be.....
