Great video! But in your side-by-side comparison to the Mevo+, I’d trust the MLM2 spin results more than the Mevo+ (which uses the RCT balls for best spin). A more fair comparison would be to a premium camera unit like the GC3 or even BLP.

Good video, but I would say that in regards to the club fitting aspect, you would want to be fit on something like GC Quad or Trackman, BUT the one thing you didn’t mention about the Rapsodo was you can see your swing AND you can turn on impact vision and get a slow motion replay of your club going into the ball at impact. This feature is so much better than some of the other units for path because you can literally see it and you can also see a true representation of your lie angle along with club defection at impact. Thanks for the content, keep it up.

Enjoyed your review Jon. I purchased one, started using yesterday. My issue is all distance readings are way short. For example: Rapsodo shows my 7 iron carries 120-125m at best. On course (and verified with Trackman) my ave carry is 148m. Rapsodo shows my driver's total distance is 178m on average. On course my ave driver distance is 240m. So distances are way out. I've updated the firmware to latest and are using the latest app. I have set up in an indoor garage, hitting into a net, and have the unit sitting at the same height as the hitting mat, 7.5 feet directly behind the ball aimed down the target line, and I have around 10ft of ball flight to net. I have tried using the supplied Callaway balls, and also changed the altitude settings - but these tweaks make only very small differences to my readings. Any ideas to help improve accuracy?? As pretty useless with current readings - may as well return it.

I'm thinking about a setup in my garden just like you have here. But with a retractable canopy - I'm in Scotland, I'll need it! Does the unit and tablet need a WiFi connection? My signal is pretty poor in my back garden.... Also, have you astro turfed that area? I'm on grass at the moment, but I'm thinking it'll just end up a complete mess...

Own one myself - love it, but only used it twice as the last couple months have been playing as much actual golf as possible before the winter hits, but planning to get a lot out of it over the winter in the nets at my club - especially to dial in wedge numbers with full, 3/4, 1/2 swings. Great to see someone I respect a lot speak highly of it too.

But all in all its a great unit for amateur, it helps you with basic data which is much needed with the net setup in backyard. And year or two-imagine how much better will those little things become. That things are on start of its journey and with some competition and buyers those will become very very accurate 100% and lower the price of big men (trackman) at some point

Hi Jon, I actually purchased this unit after watching your video. I also just noticed after watching this again you switched to an inside screen when doing the accuracy numbers. Nice review. I didn’t go for this one but it does hit a good price point. I went with a GC3. Anyone looking into the MLM2 Pro should maybe compare to the Bushnell Launch Pro (BLP) before making the jump. The BLP is the subscription version of the GC3. It’s pricier than the MLM2 Pro still though. Why do I like the GC3? Compact single unit that accurately measures everything including putting, so you get the full practice and sim experience. What don’t I like? You need a gaming laptop for the software, although they have some iPad apps that are useful. The sim courses are great, especially the new FSX Play courses.

@KayakFishingAddict

Oh, and a few more plusses.... you don't need special balls so you can use your gamer balls and it reads everything accurately. And you don't need much space at all... I hit from a 5'x5' mat into a net return pro and the bottom of the net return's net extends on the ground to within a few inches of the mat. It's about 9-10' from back of the mat to the back of the net return pro. And finally it's easy to setup, you set the GC3 down, put the alignment stick on the ground toward your target, wait 2 seconds until the unit shows you it's aligned, and pick it up. Then you're ready to hit. I had a Garmin R10 before this and it took much longer to align and get right and much more space was required behind the hitting area. I now have a web cam (swing camera) where my R10 used to sit.

@@KayakFishingAddict I like your thoughts but feel, the 2 you are talking about aren't in the same league, at all. A 700 unit versus 2k-6K isn't even fair, I would expect them to do more and be better... IMO.. The point is features, portable and price... if I wanted a true launch system, this isn't meant for that. I am trying to replace the Mevo (not Mevo +) I have so this unit is in the same class...

Software as a service is fine - if it costs another company money to keep providing the infrastructure and services behind the scenes.
