I have that exact model, so a couple of tips I have learned: A good metal cookbook/tablet holder works great for the lid when you take it off, and the mesh basket should be sprayed with oil before placing food to cook on it makes it easier to clean
The metal ring is to elevate the lid for taller foods (whole chicken, for example), not to cradle the glass bowl as you're doing. Remove the metal ring and let the glass bowl sit in its plastic bed. I use the metal ring to rest my lid when checking my food. It keeps the heating element raised and safe.
I have owned two of these contraptions (different brand but still same item) and I was completely in love. The first one I had about 1 and a half years, I became dependent on it until the halogen bulb blew up. Sounded like a bomb went off. Had to toss dinner for safety sake. I immediately purchased another, all was well for the first year and a couple days (past warranty). It too blew up. So sad...but could not bring myself to purchase another. They are fantastic until they are not. My kids got me the Ninja air fryer/grill that year for Christmas (2 1/2 yrs ago), I have been beyond thrilled ever since. If comparing, and not considering the malfunctions, hands down I would chose the Ninja 9 out of 10 times.
I have the older model I have used for trhe past 10 years or so at least weekly. IT IS GREAT and still going strong. Other brands I have had in the past, didnt last nearly that long. When and if this one ever goes out, I will definitely buy another Big Boss.
I like the recipe and I used the Ninjas air fryer, a Mother’s Day gift from my children’s father last year. I don’t have to work so hard to cleanse, I just let the items on the water to soak. Thank ya for sharing that type of fryer with us.🙏
Extremely nice to clean as well hot soapy water when you’re through everything comes off it stays new looking at stays nice looking and again it is non-toxic
I have cooked a 16lb turkey in mine by using the expansion ring, and tenting with foil to prevent over browning before done.. When I put the foil over it to stop browning, I did have to lay the basket upside down on top of the foil to keep the fan from pulling it up off the turkey and onto the fan unit..
I absolutely love my big boss. Best cooker out there. I almost never use the tall rack and I just use that rack to set the hot lid on. Moisture will break the bulb. Never turn on if you think the bulb is wet. When the unit turns off its smart to remove the lid immediately to avoid condensation building on the bulb. I've had to replace the bulb once in 2 years(my own fault), it costs roughly 30 bucks on Amazon. It took me nearly an hour to replace the bulb having to take apart the entire thing. THE BEST COOKER.
@selcuk6264 You are not submerging the lid in water. You cannot touch the bulb as it is behind a metal grate. If the bulb is hot, do not put water on it. If there is water on the bulb, do not turn it on. Same goes for all hot things.
I bought this second hand through facebook marketplace thinking it was an air fryer. It’s awesome. I used the basket that you used to make fries to keep the lid off of my prep surface.
I use baking paper on the mesh rack as well as on the other two racks. Hate trying to clean them. After cooking I just toss the paper into the fire...have a combustion stove.
This cooker is Awesome. Have mine for over a decade. Better than an Airfryer, which I also purchased and still prefer the cooker. Price is also right and so versatile. Excellent purchase. thank you for this video.
Yes. I've had them for years. Food is succulent, fadt, clean, easy. It's amazing once you learn how to use it. I haven't used my standard oven for years. It's not a bad design, you need a lid holder. It holds the lid sideways so it's not down onto the counter. And you don't need to reheat the oven. And it's self cleaning on thaw or clean for 10/15 mins. But easy to clean with a cloth or in the sink. You caan cook meats and roasts straight on the glass bowl, or anything else, really. I use glass or pyrex dishes. It shouldn't take twice as long to cook things. Chips are faster and easier in an air fryer, shaking part way through.
Thank you for the free bible. I wanted to get a used one on eBay today but decided it’s not within my budget at this time… I’m so thankful for your copy of bible..
It does a beautiful job browning fries fish sticks chicken nuggets pizza it does a gorgeous job I have one and it does have a fan and it does blow the air around and it does heat the air and hot air cooks my dear
Also the lid is shaped so the edge is lower than the hot plate on the under the control so if you set it flat on a rack nothing will touch the rack it’s hot but the rack won’t melt or be damaged by the heat
I put porcelain floor counter top on my counters. When i redid them > Just for the durability of heat and cold pots and things. I still use things to set hot things on> cause if you put your hand on the counter where the hot pot was setting > IT STILL WILL BURN YA
I owned one similar years ago, gave it to a friend, and he is still using it. He loves to make pizza, bread and steaks in it. Letting the machine clean it helps greatly.
I have two NuWave ovens and one Oyama Turbo oven that are like this Big Boss oven. I also have three air fryers: a Power XL, a Cook's Essentials, and a Ninja Foodi Grill. Your Big Boss and my NuWaves and Oyama are considered to be air fryers in addition to being infrared ovens. I'm really enjoying using my Ninja Foodi Grill. Don't confuse it with the Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker.
I have a rack that I use to put it on and that halogen plate does not touch the rack the edges of the lid touch the rack and then it can air and it cools off that way heavy duty rack is all you need with lights on it so there’s airflow
Honey it’s not a design flaw it comes with two racks use one of them if you’ve got both of them in the unit then get another rack that you have that you use for any number of things and use it
There's an outlet near my stove on the wall. I set the unit on my glass stove top and when I have to remove the lid I just set it on top of the stove. I would not put it on any kind of fabric or anything like that... potholders and the like because it probably will burn it but using it right on top of the stove. works perfect for me. If you don't have an outlet near your stove I would just have a wood cutting board close by that you don't really care about having a burn mark on it just in case that happens. Or just get a piece of wood. For safety measures I would run the piece of wood underwater to make sure that it doesn't continue to burn. I can't think of any other way to do it. But I will say using it on the stove saves counter space as well as providing a safety measure to sit the lid on it later. I do have a glass top.... I don't know how well this would work on a stove with coil burners. The point is using it on the stove top is awesome because of the lack of counter space I have in my kitchen. I will say though because it's halogen and even though it gets really hot for cooking it does cool down rather quickly so I'm not really worried about that too much at all. Enjoy. I am having so much fun with this piece of kitchen equipment. We are so into coming up with all kinds of things to cook in it. Today I'm doing sausage and broccoli rabe. I think this product is amazing and I would be happy to advertise for this company. Just awesome.
Ok I'm probably going to get flak for this but have you ever tried cooking burger patties in them? I used to do this in my old air fryer because I would use 93/7 ground beef and they always came out much juicier and with a good crust compared to me cooking them on a pan. Wondering how they would turn out in this fryer? Thanks.
Great review. If I should find ine in a charity shop I will be picking it up. Thank you for explaining it all. I hope all is doing well and you are all settling into your new home.
I've had that for several years and I just sit a cake pan near it so that when removing the top, I sit it on the cake pan so that hot part is suspended in the pan, and it holds the entire thing up off the counter
How differently does the food taste with this machine compared to using the oven on your stove? Not in the budget right at this time to purchase this machine, nor the space to store it on the counter or in the cabinet. Food looked sooo good! Gale Flowers
Just place the basket that comes with it upside down on the table and place it on that and it won't burn your table, but be careful the basket will be hot after you pull it off
My son got me this years ago. I found it to be too heavy for me to wash (the glass) I have a porelain old sink and knew it would slip and fall while washing the glass and it would break in the sink. It worked wonderful just too heavy for me lol
I wanted to suggest that I actually sit my lid on a pot that I’m not using like I just prop it up on the empty pot so the hot part is down in there cus I do not want it to burn my butcher block I refuse to sit anything on them 😂
Can you be so kind to tell me what the stuff are that you put over the chicken with that square shaker? Not the parmesan, the plastic shaker after the parmesan
First of all you didn't wash your chicken and you just spreaded bacteria all over the Big Boss cooking machine, this is why I don't eat everybody's food 🤮
