Saying just “t14” is more efficient rather than “Ivy League or t14” because every Ivy League law school is a t14.

Hi. Thank you for the videos. I have a couple of further questions that I hope you could help me clarify. It seems that lot of people echo the idea that they are hesitant of going to a Duke calibre law school because they are afraid that they will drop to being around middle or slightly below middle in the rankings, but from what I read from the stats it seems that when it comes to Duke calibre schools people from even the top 60 to 70 can get into big law or other competitive fields so I wonder why are they are so worried to the point of going somewhere lower ranked. It seems that even if they end up in the middle of the pack they should still have a good chance of getting into a competitive institution if they go to Duke calibre schools. Also, in the scenario in which one ends up receiving offers from regional schools that are in the top 20s with a partial to half scholarship, but one also receives an offer from a bottom half of top 14 school but with far less to none scholarship, how should this decision be analysed. From what I understand the chances of big law is something like top 50 percent from the top 20 vs top 70 to 60 percent from the top 14s. Since there's going to be some debt either way, is it better to forgo the scholarship aspect and just go for the one with the greater chance of getting into big law?

Law school rankings matter insofar as they reflect employment outcomes.

This is a lot rarer than one would think though. Sure it is possible, but as a generality this doesn’t happen.

That’s cool and all, I mean both of our current president and VP went to low ranked law schools. But if you realistically expext to have that type of success from an out 100 ranked law school, you might as well play the lottery. Stories like this need to always be cautioned with the fact that people are paying a lot of money to attend these schools, and statistically speaking, the chances of having even close to that type of career are very slim.

How many years out of law school is he or she? This is a reasonably easy salary for someone to make after proving themselves for a few years in another job. Or opening one's own practice.

no, you probably shouldn't go to law school.
