PART 2! Is it still worth it to be a NP in 2022? If you haven't seen part 1, watch it here- • Is it worth it to be a... There are so many factors that will play into this decision- here are a few important one!
David I agree 100% with everything you said. I have been NP for 21 years and have seen a big change in it. Other changes I have seen is that a lot of organizations are not allowing clinical students.
Hello I know about her too she Lives In YOUNGSTOWN OHIO UNITED STATE,I have her info she's a good and reliable person, always available for any one who needs her help.
@@mattpeter5902 I won’t want to leave her info here on public. But since you all are asking you can reachout via Whs/ap on for easy access tell her I referred you.
Thank you for this video!! I shadowed an NP at an urgent care setting and during flu season it was crazy. The NP was stressed and was constantly bringing work home and I'm glad I saw it before going to nursing school.
Hey! Thanks for watching! And yeah, urgent care is usually wild. DEF not something I would want to do full time. But kuddos to those who do- we need good urgent care providers. It can really offload the ER for actual emergencies.
My experience has been very different. I’m going to USF’s ACAGNP program. The school set up my clinicals for me and I’ve had no issues. My hospital has also paid for my program and the intensivists in the ICU have already offered me a job and I have 1 year left of rotations.
I agree! I recently had to find clinical sites for my RN to BSN program, and it was not a positive experience and many of my classmates had difficulties finding sites! Now I’m interested in becoming a NP, but I’m worried about the limited clinical sites and job opportunities.
Just this week another a former NP who's now a doctor made a similar video how the nurse practitioners programs do not find clinicals site for you. But I want to say at the end of the day if it's your goal or your dream to become a nurse practitioner go for it no matter what go for it I don't care how saturated it is go for it
I agree. I don't want to discourage anyone from doing anything they love. If you want to do it, go for it. This channel is a place for me to provide my opinions. Many people disagree with me on ideas, and that is totally fine.
I graduated this past year, I had preceptors set and a good number of them since 2020. Many of my colleagues had issues, especially the newer nurses going to school. You HAVE to know people, the schools can help (mine seemed to be good about this) but many don’t. NP school is a lot of self learning, you get what you put in. It’s so sad that the programs, even the good ones IMO are mediocre at best.
Totally agree! I've seen countless students have to either drop out or sit out a few semesters until they can find a clinical site. Overall, the experiences are not as great when a student will find and take anything they can get.
What ruins it is these students lower the bar of what’s acceptable. I won’t take a 85k job that slams your with work on salary with no benefits, but unfortunately new nurses who go straight for NP will probably take an offer like this. It drives the market value down, it’s depressing. I was a critical care nurse for 8 years before getting my Acute care NP MSN just for FNP’s to be working in acute care roles and having not the greatest opportunities available
I don't think there is ever a chance of that happening. CRNA school actually has a competitive application cycle, and many barriers to entry. The NP profession has zero barriers to entry. ie you can go straight from nursing school to NP school.
