This is the real magic 30th set

Crazy how wotc could have had an absolute home run by this set being Magic 30th but chose greed instead

I have to say, that cut at 0:34 where you catch the falling card pack is absurdly slick and I love it! No matter how many takes this took, it was totally worth it.

This looks like someone at WotC watched Prof's videos and said "hey, let's try doing a product exactly as that guy described!". They only forgot to make it unlimited print run, I guess.

This set is such a nostalgia hit. Seeing cards like Spiritmonger and Call of the Herd at uncommon is mind blowing. I’m really excited for it. Going through the spoilers, I felt like a kid again, and that rules.

I'd love to see Ravnica remaster which makes a draft experience from all the Ravnica sets.

Such a small gripe, but I miss having different art on the packs. I used to choose individual packs based on which art felt "lucky".

Prof, you forgot to mention the biggest benefit of this set, which is clearly and truly the REAL set to celebrate Magic 30: The value and size of this set is an absolute gift and financial shot in the arm for Local Game Stores, who are mostly doing $30 drafts, which guarantees them at least $250 in profit on each box. This is a set that makes them money because they can serve more players with a very hot set at a lower than expected entry point. This is a win for Wizards, LGSs and the player base. For the first time in years...everybody wins, and yet this simple fact is being lost among the various bad deeds of WOTC/Hasbro.

Maybe the reason Hasbro is making such monumentally bad decisions with WotC is because Hasbro and WotC are incompatible businesses. Hasbro is a toy company whereas WotC is moreso a hobby company. Hasbro is used to mass-producing Monopoly and Nerf guns for moms in a Walmart, not curating delicate ecosystems of card sets and rulebooks for niche players in LGSs.

Really happy about this and looking forward to my local events. Might have to pick up a few bonus packs too. Thanks prof! Great analysis as always!

I found this channel only two months ago. Yet, I've found INCREDIBLE help hearing a review of cards and products from the Professor. It has definitely helped my buying decisions, and it's, for lack of a better word, "refreshing" to hear an honest (and professional) opinion, based on the positive, or lack there of, direction Magic has been going. Darksteel is the last time I can remember ever buying a booster. Because of this review, I'm convinced to buy a box. And after the reviews, it's great to see "Shuffle Up & Play," reminding me why I originally got into Magic for one INITIAL reason: it's fun. Thank you for what you're doing Professor. (And forgive me for any grammar mistakes. 😅)

I’ve been thinking of going back into MtG. haven’t played since around 1998. This set got me so excited I preordered a draft booster box! Can’t wait to surprise my friends i used to play Revised thru Visions in the 90s with some rounds of a new draft game!

I picked up a few packs of this today and I was immediately hooked. Can't wait to draft it with my friends, looks fun as hell. I mean, I also pulled a vampiric tutor in my first pack so that might have swayed me a little...

I just finished a a draft of this, and can confirm it's lovely. I recognized I liked the draft enviroment because it's not that far from the basics I look when I build or modify my cube.

Just opened a regular box and a collector box and really happy with the pulls i got. Really enjoy this set.

After months of the professor being disappointed, I for one am very glad that there’s finally a set that got him fired up and happy. Skipping this set because there not enough for formats I play, but I am so glad to see something that’s more like a gift to the community than we’ve had in a while.

Me and my commander POD of three buddies are going to have so much fun drafting this in a few weekends. We have to wait until we are all able to gather at my our friend Johnny's place and each guy throws in on a draft box. We draft cards the way all drafts go and then make decks as per the usual. The foils, mythics and rares go into a pile at the end of the draft (commons and uncommons that are drafted are kept) The big winner of the draft picks first from the goodies out of the box, whether they want a foil mythic or a planeswalker or any other card out of the pile of goodies we cracked open. The person that took second in the draft picks one card next from the goodies and so on. It is a fun and great way to crack a box of cards with friends.

Drafting tonight and splitting half a box with a friend, can't wait!

Wanted to save up to buy multiple collector's booster boxes of this product. Then Wizards and Hasbro botched the Magic 30 so bad I never want to buy collector's booster boxes ever again.

This set is so much fun to draft. I drafted boros auras with commons and uncommons (I drafted exactly one rare) and went to town. While passing super amazing cards to stay on theme was hard, it feels worth it just for how fun the experience is to make a deck I enjoy with cards I love like Valduk and Tiana and Savannah Lions. Definitely recommend it if you can!

Pretty please bring back product reviews like deck boxes, dice, carrying bag storage alternatives etc. pleaseeeeee! I’ve missed those a lot

I feel like this is just what happens to Magic when Hasbro’s attention shifts to their other big property.

Played a draft of it last weekend and had a blast! $20 provided great prize support and even though I didn't make my money back, I'm hoping to get at least 2-3 more drafts in this weekend.

Just got back into mtg last week after a hiatus since 2016 with no idea this set was coming out - and I needed somewhere to say how much I am loving this set; especially as I pulled a force of will yesterday! I have a very small (read non-existent) collection of cards and this set is fantastic for getting a hold of classic cards. As someone who is essentially still very new to the hobby, this set makes me feel like I can own a bit of the nostalgia and shared history of this most beloved and accursed game. There's something about pulling your first counterspell that makes you feel connected to the community. I don't just own a strange new card that may end up forgotten, I own *counterspell*

I did a Preview Draft of this at my LGS and got a Retro-framed Birds of Paradise, a Full art Birds of paradise and a foil Arboria. I walked away pretty happy.

Thank you for these videos. It has gotten me excited for MtG in the new year. On a side note, do you have any plans to do more deckbox/card sleeve videos this season? I know you have been busy with product saturation, Shuffle Up and Play, as well as guest appearances at the end of last year. I also want to share that the Classic Art + Dragon sleeves from dragon shield got another print run. I had wanted the Starry Night Dragon sleeves you had on your channel for a while but I missed the print run and didn’t want to spend $60-$80 on anftee market sleeves. I went into my LGS to buy two singles and decided to chance a glance at their sleeves and I was far more excited to leave with those sleeves than the singles I successfully bought as well even though they were the sole reason for the trip.

I think it feels really good. I pre-ordered two boxes. Haven't gotten them yet. I might draft one years from now.
