Iv only just started doing them again coz hadn't done it for ages so it was good to do a refresh but i only do when i feel like sacrificing one thing to do another.
That was a brilliant breakdown on the electric moters dan, well worth the time ,yeah i definitely would of sold the 2 other moters as is ,thanks for sharing dan 👍
Hello Zane yes i think taking the copper will get you more money but some motors are worth doing more than others but in saying that your scrap prices will determine that for you along with your own experimenting.
In that case it would work out best to probably strip all your motors, tho ill do another video doing a value comparison between a Steel Cased Motor vs Cast Ally Cased Motor.
with the copper motors once you cut off one end put it in the Vise cut end facing up grab a sizable punch hit down on the copper until you have movement at the bottom then turn it c over you should be able to get a screw driver under the copper and leaver it out great vid loove your channel
Well you wouldn't believe it but i actually dont have a vice lol, but i have seen Simple Man do it that way before....I think my electric winch or block n tackle idea will be the fastest way to do it if i set that up.
Very nice! Would have been interested to see what was in those other 2, it might have been a different style winding. Bucket of copper =yummy!! Well worth it 👍
If you read Brad Langs comment it sounds like it would have been a nightmare so i think i made the right choice to leave it.....That washing machine style motors probably wouldn't be hard but probably just fidgety.
@SollersSrappingandDiving Nah all those motors were from Aircon fans but that one particular motor just had the copper coiled in the same way a washing machine motor was......First aircon motor iv actually seen made that way.
I'm glad you didn't attempt those plastic motors. Definitely not worth it, I've had the, not so much, pleasure of the experience. The windings and steel are encased in the plastic as if moulded into it. Although would of taken the ally off and still passed in as electric motors. Thanks for sharing your time with us. Cheers mate
Yeah they looked a hassle whilst that other one just looked like a fidgety job which i couldn't be bothered doing.......Yes i did keep the cast.........No problem and thanks for watching mate.
