Hi scrapper buddies, if you love seeing BIG scrap pay days and my various scrap collections i bring home along with pulling apart various items then this is the channel for you. Im a chilled out laid back dude that is honest and doesn't talk crap. I hope you enjoy watching my videos because I have lots of fun doing each one so please feel free to leave a comment and I would love it also if you subscribed to the channel. Hope to see you there.
@CraigHartley-xg9lh All my good scrap i buy because lets be honest how many people really want to give you their good scrap for free, mind you i have 2 aircon contractors that let me have their copper and scrap aircons for free which is a nice bonus.
Morning, if your talking about the black aircon compressor then no i dont cut them open and the reason being is i already get a good price for them selling as is so i dont bother plus iv got plenty of things to do anyway so finding time to do it all would be difficult, i have a video of me cutting open a sealed unit which i did about 5-6yrs ago on my channel if you want to watch it.
@liamwilliams4297 Thank Liam i can begin to relax around 6.15am friday when i arrive at the airport to catch my flight......The copper suggestion was very thoughtful of you buuut i just got upstairs after sorting and prepping it all for Thursdays sell off.....Ill be up again at 5am tomorrow coz iv got motors and compressors to sell.
Good idea tho prices still aren't that bad tbh, i probably would have held mine longer too but it was always destined to be used for my holidays....But ill start up a new drum coz iv got more motors at the ready.
Eww all ally, hopefully i dont get the disappointment of finding one of those but its bound to happen eventually if i get enough of them. Thanks for watching.
Haha...I gotta be honest iv never had any such problems with that where i live so far but there can always be a 1st time, but 5yrs in iv never had anything stolen yet.
The cable with the plugs i will cut off the plugs and sell the plugs separately and the cable as is. With the other cable i will sort through it all and separate everything that is 4mm and bigger and that i will strip, anything smaller than 4mm i will sell as is... Thanks for watching.
@danthescrapper815 probably so they can make the extra money when they sell it. We also have to take all paper, plastic and glue offf the copper. It is an EMR yard. I have 3 EMR yards I can go to and all 3 give different prices. Worst of all, we have to wait a week to get paid for anything with copper in it.
Cracking result for stuff you dragged from a bin. The Power of the Scavenger Runs Deep! Best wishes to you all down under. Looking forward to the next video! Best wishes. ~~ Ray
@@danthescrapper815 - people are losing interest in my channel pretty much, I gotta somehow change my approach, I'm using catchy thumbnails now but still not good, hope you have been well?
Hi Dan, scrapperDan here. Great tip, glad I am subscribed and see all your vids. I have been putting off tearing down two alternators because that nut is rusted in place. I tried your trick and it worked great.
Great tip Dan. I did discover this method with some cast ally table bases I got from a bowls club. The rattle gun wouldn't free up the nuts and I could only get the grinder in the vertical position to cut the nut. Epiphany moment! Whalaa! Cast ally cleaned and top dollar at the time paid. Magic. A lot better than cursing at it for sure. Have a great arvo.
@bradlang9494 Thanks Brad, sometimes leaving things in the corner for a while to think about is a good thing especially when you're brain doesn't want to work at the time plus its always better to get top dollar for something when you can and when it doesn't require alot of effort to get it
@danthescrapper815 maybe cause I'm not an ABN account I get a lower price, 20c a kg is fairly substantial difference but. I only had a small amount from UPS units that I picked up from the IT guys I know.
Hey bud love the clips. But I have a question for you if you don't mind. What size cable do you just leave insulated and what size do you start stripping plz mate.
Hello and thanks for the question.....When it comes to cable eveyone is different with what they decide to strip coz most people prefer to strip everything but me personally i strip nothing less than 4mm so for example if iv got some TPS cable that has the 4mm red and black on the outside and 2.5mm earth in the middle ill strip the 4mm cable and the remaining 2.5mm cable will go in a drum to sell as 60% high grade.
@danthescrapper815 cheers for the quick reply mate. Hey while we are on the subject. Can you please tell me what does the hairwire/small wire get classed at the scrap yard as plz?
@darcymeadows4801 Hair wire which resembles a horsetail me is classified as written, hair wire and is bought at a slightly less price than bright but unsure why but i have my thoughts.
