Band-Maid is an all girls Japanese Rock band that has no trouble tearing up not only Guitars and Drums but a whole packed out crowd with their song titled "Hate".
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). Misa [mee-sah] (Barefoot Assassin) - Bass Guitar Her nickname comes from an interview where the host was saying that she was not wearing a maid outfit and Miku (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals) spoke up for her by stating that it was an assassin maid outfit, along with what you noticed about Misa going barefoot on stage.

Band Maid, I nice way start you channel man. This was their 10 year celebration concert. And look how much fun they were having. I hear they played for three and half hours. And as you could see, they don't stand around on stage or sit back in the music. I saw them last summer. Wow.
This was song #27 out of a 33 song set during their 3 hr 45 min 2024 World Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. No opening acts...just them! Endless energy from these ladies!!! They also performed a follow-up concert a couple of months later where they played another 20+ songs that they didn't get to play on this night!

Welcome to the BandMaid experience! The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts: •Bass solos are more likely to happen than not. There's a bass solo on their very first video! •Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be •Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen. •Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre! •You like a hard rocking crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version? They do that. •April Fools Day 2019 As a joke they recorded a redo of Secret my Lips with traditional instruments and with lyrics in a Kyoto dialect. MV is stunningly beautiful. •The linchpin member of the band gets the least notice/praise. The Mighty Miku Kobato founder/lead singer steps back to make way for a new more hard rock vocalist. They want her to hold a guitar so she does and learns to play on the fly, performing all the while she's learning. So the person who willed the band into existence, who is the primary lyricist, the only member who sings and plays an instrument most of the time gets the least comments from reactors. Oh yeah she has her own signature model guitar from Zematis (after playing less than 10 yrs) •10 plus years with the same line up. Think about that. •More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole. •Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics. •Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's. •As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both. •Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese.Most songs are full of joy as well. •They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other. •Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.
