In Deuteronomy 18:15-22, Moses shows what a true prophet of God looks like and how to respond to them. Throughout the passage, it also paints a picture of a messianic figure called the Prophet. The Prophet is raised by God and speaks the words of God to the people. Let's compare Jesus to the prophecy and prophetic standards in Deuteronomy 18 to determine if he is the Prophet like Moses.

Yes, he is the divine prophet from deuteronomy 18 Jesus said "Moses, In whom you have put your hope, Is the very one who will Accuse you. If you had really believed Moses, You would have believed me, Because he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, How can you believe what i say?(John 5:45 - 47)

that prophecy has already been fulfilled. It is Joshua the son of Nun; not Jesus or Mohammed. Neither Jesus or Mohammed fulfilled this requirement because 1. it must be an Israelite (read the content of the time it was written). Jesus was not an Israelite but a Jew. Mohammed is Arab, not precisely an Israelite. Then the other requirement is that He must be an Egyptian as well. Joshua was part of that group of Israelites that came out of Egypt. Jesus did not live in Egypt, not really nor did Mohammed, he lived in the middle east 100% So, it is Joshua the son of Nun. And it says JOshua the son of Nun in torah.

I don’t see how Jesus is not an Israelite. Being called a Jew was applied to the whole Hebrew nation from the time of the exile. Also Jesus did live in Egypt to escape Herod. Joshua definitely shares a lot of qualities of Jesus and even his name. However, Joshua wasn’t a prophet in the same way that Moses was despite the many similarities. He was a general tasked with fulfilling the promises of the new land. Jesus did great miracles and spoke the words of God with great authority.

@@ChaseCarrington I am talking about how Jesus cannot be that prophet who is like unto Moses. The prophecy was fulfilled in Deuteronomy 31:7 Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it. Deuteronomy 31:14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, the days approach when you must die; call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of meeting, that I may inaugurate him.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tabernacle of meeting. good bye

it was Jesus that’s why he said he was the law of moses which moses spoke of. the jews idolized Moses over Jesus. that’s why they wanted to throw Jesus over a cliff. q

Only one Gospel: The Gospel of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods). REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.

DEUTERONOMY 18 *18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.* * *AMONG THEIR* (israelties) *BRETHREN* mean descendant of ishmael, not from Israel. * *LIKE UNTO THEE* (Moses), who is the prophet like moses more than Mohammed ??? - Moses & Mohammed Born from normal Father and Mother. Jesus father is God According to Christian, *So Jesus not like Moses* - Moses & Mohammed Born as a normal human. Jesus born through miracles, *So Jesus not like Moses* - Moses & Mohammed are Prophet, but Jesus are God, *So Jesus not like Moses* - Moses & Mohammed marry, Jesus not, *So Jesus not like Moses* - Moses & Mohammed rejected by people, fighting, migrating at the end the people accept them, Jesus even all 12 disciples runaway while he was crucified. *So Jesus not like Moses* - Mohammed & Moses bring new law, Jesus only fulfill the law of torah. *So Jesus not like Moses* - Moses & Mohammed normally death, Jesus got crucified. *So Jesus not like Moses* - Moses & Mohammed buried in earth, Kesus now in heaven. *So Jesus not like Moses* * *I PUT MY WORD INTO HIS MOUTH* Mohammed was illiterate (Isaiah 29:12), the revelation Quran is something strange, never mohammed said it before, God PUT INTO HIS MOUTH, * *HE SHALL SPEAK UNTO THEM, THAT I SHALL COMMAND HIM* Anytime after Mohammed got revelation, he spread all the message to the people, some people memorize & put into writing, like fragment Suraa ThaHa in Birmingham. And if any LAW/COMMAND from the revelation Mohammed made it happened to the people immediately, e.g. Prohibition of drinking, wearing hijab, changing direction of pray, etc .. *19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.* * *HE SHALL SPEAK IN MY NAME* "Bismillahirrahmanirrahim" in every Suraa of Quran, means : "IN THE NAME OF ALLAH (God) ..." while christian speaks IN THE NAME OF JESUS. * *I WILL REQUIRE IT OF HIM !!!* God himself threatening u people if not follow that prophet.

Deuteronomy, Chapter 18: “I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19) Here Moses is addressing the Children of Israel. He quotes Jehovah as telling him of the coming of a Prophet. The marks for recognizing the coming prophet would be as follows: 1. He would be from among the brethren of the Children of Israel. 2. He would be like Moses. 3. He would speak words and commands put in his mouth by God. 4. He would speak in God’s name. If you examine the above details of the distinguishing traits of the foretold prophet and those of Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was born centuries after this prophecy, you will be surprised to learn of the striking similarities. Jesus or Muhammad? Here one may also consider the Christian argument that the above prophecy is about Jesus. So we need to examine who is actually meant here, with reference to the details of the prophecy. 1. It is clearly mentioned that the coming prophet would be from ‘their brethren’, i.e. from the brethren of the Children of Israel. We know that Jesus was one of the Children of Israel and so it is clear that the prophecy does not apply to him. Whereas Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in the family of Ishmael; indeed his grandfather was Qaidar (Biblical name: Kedar), one of the twelve sons of Ishmael. 2. Of the two prophets (i.e. Jesus and Muhammad) one is mentioned to be like Moses. In fact, it is Prophet Muhammad who is really like Moses, and not Jesus. For instance, Jesus was born miraculously without a father; he did not marry and lead a family life; his mission was very short (three years at the most); and God raised him unto Himself when he faced the possibility of violent death at the hands of his enemies. (Christians believe that he was crucified). And so, we find that Jesus did not have the time to realize the dream of establishing a society based on the principles he taught. Indeed, he had declared that his mission was for ‘the lost sheep of the house of Israel’ (Matthew 15:24), and not for the whole of humanity. Prophet Muhammad’s Mission Compare the above with the mission of Muhammad (peace be upon him). Like Moses, he had a father and mother; he married and led a family life; his mission was long like that of Moses; he died a natural death; and he brought a Law (Shari`ah) for the establishment of a social system, like Moses. It is also worth emphasizing that at the end of the Book of Deuteronomy, the following is clearly stated: “And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, in all the signs and the wonders, which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, and in all that mighty hand…” (Deuteronomy 34:10-12) This makes it clear that there never was a prophet like Moses in the whole of Israel after Moses, according to the Bible. Thus, we can clearly see that between the two, it was Muhammad from the brethren of the Children of Israel, who could be called, “a Prophet like Moses”. And Allah knows best.

Question I know little on Muslim faith especially the Origins of the prophet Muhammad as I am learning more reading through what you wrote it makes me think of study that I have done on Torah and how we as believers we see Jesus as Torah/wisdom/life as one And we get life by recognizing Jesus as the person incarnate of truth and law (Torah) that moshi brought down in commandments and Jesus who we believe not just died but also resurrected with over 500 witnesses) taught us us to the gospel “repent for the kingdom of heaven is near”. Where are turning from sin and walking in obedience and observation of Gods law brings life and relationships to the Father. Sin bringing death and separation from God. I guess my question to you is do you see Muhammad as someone who just operates and shares Gods will I guess I’m not understanding why Muhammad as a prophet would be equal to Moses if he’s just bringing clarification to law and not also being wisdom/life itself ? Jesus also brought clarification to the law(and will return to do again) even at a young age before the three years he did ministry it said that the teachers in the synagogue were amazed at his wisdom and he didn’t speak in his teachers name (ie other rabbis as it was conmen) name he just spoke in the father‘s (God) name Like I said I know very little about the Muslim faith outside of specific laws that I’ve researched and what I’ve learned in history class so I’m definitely open to some sources that could help me understand your faith and observances clearer It’s just when I’m thinking about this whole concept it makes me think Moses brought life through covenant with the father, with God, his son came to earth Teaching application of Torah such as compassion, blessing, healing. coming for Israel and then later extended invitation for all to know him and All to have relationship and covenant through him and with God. I just would love to understand I guess more of how Muhammad as A profit would operate in a way that brought life like Moses?? I have dyslexia and a learning disability so I really apologize if that was too confusing I tend to do better in verbal conversation then on text I Hope that made sense and don’t repeat to much I’m just so curious I will definitely have to dig in this a little bit more. Like I said I’m definitely open to some Muslim sources so if there’s any specific books or teachings that elaborate a little bit better on Mohammed‘s life I’m definitely interested Especially in regards to how that applies with the Abraham and mosaic covenants Sholom peace to you !

@@purplecat733 Jesus came and said to love one another love the Lord God with all your heart soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself tell me if I'm wrong but I believe in Muhammad came with the message to kill the Infidel and anyone who wasn't like-minded in their belief shall be worthy of death or Jesus Jesus explained that you must die to yourself to walk in the spirit so therefore he constantly preached to forgive even if someone hates you you need to pray for them in love tell me if I'm wrong but I don't believe the message of love would be to murder anyone who doesn't agree
