Nathan Black He got a U in his Science GCSE and that was his best grade apart from Art and Woodwork. Yes, he’s thick. He clearly acts on it a bit because it makes other brainless morons like him but he is actually a thick moron.
I honestly believe this is an act. There is a program he does called educating Joey Essex, at the start of every program he is completely lost, struggles to even pronounce a name like "Liberal Democrats" or the word " Referendum" but you watch the show carefully and there are bits where he could be a journalist himself. Playing dumb pays, he gets to travel the world and to him its worth the cost of being perceived as dumb. I honestly believe that if a group of scientist study all the videos he has online they will say I'm right and that he puts on an act. You can't go from not being able to pronounce a simple word to asking impressive questions and having a academic type conversation with someone.
I'm exactly the same I'm shit are pronouncing things and I'm dumb 99% of the time but I can hold a very long academic conversation like I can't pronounce cutlery but I'm in top set for pretty much everything in school until 2 months ago I thought Scotland and Wales were next to each other, I still don't know know which is north and which is south just cause people can't pronounce things and aren't smart at everything doesn't mean they aren't smart he might have got A* in English and that's why he's so good at holding academic convosations but got F in maths that's why he thinks squares have 6 sides don't hate unless you know someone cause most the time u will dumb 😊😇
livelifetothefull no he really is that thick. It’s not his fault, he’s just a thick little fucker. That being said he’s a cracking little fella. Good luck to him. However, thick as two short planks.
Connor Hornsey Only in a pathetic (modern) society can someone be richly rewarded for being fundamentally stupid. Says everything about the general level of intelligence in the UK.
I've got 15 gcse's, 3 a-levels and an upper second degree but i'm sat in a council flat with no money and an opiate and alcohol addiction. Whereas this Joey guy has millions in the bank and a host of opportunities.
All these comments making fun of him and laughing at him, its not his fault his mum passed away when he was 10, then he couldn't get an education for 5 years. I feel really sorry for him :(( but hes perfect
John Lennon's mum passed away when he was young, loads of peoples do,not really much of an excuse, especially living in the UK where we have access to the internet, library's and have the easy access and potential to educate ourselves.
If you've had a really hard childhood, lost your mum, and didn't have chance to go into school too often, your generally not going to be that smart. He could have any sort of learning difficulty and everyone thinks they can just call him thick and stupid, when you actually know nothing. "Joey Essex is not thick, he's just misunderstood."
Apparently he missed three years of secondary school because his dad died and he got bullied badly ...he was that weird kid everyone ignored .. people shouldn't laugh at him :)
"If you judge a fish on it's ability to climb a tree, it'll live it's life believing that it's stupid" - Einstein. I get it, you think he's "Stupid", but, it's not only academic intelligence that contributes to our world... As a kid, Joey's mother committed suicide, if this happened me I personally think that studying would be one of the furthest things from my mind! I think it's funny how all of you supposedly "educated" people insult him and defy his worthiness on this Earth...Isn't knowledge supposed to open and expand your mind? Yet, you're going on like the uneducated ones by just outright insulting him...I know,I know! "It's on TV! Someone please think of the Children!" and all that! Look, he's not running to be a politician! He's not even reading the news! For what he is (Television entertainer) academic knowledge isn't something he needs...He makes me laugh! And come on, he looks like such a nice, friendly guy...Why pick on him? Look at EVERY contestant from his season of "I'm a celebrity....", Everyone of them all stated just how nice, friendly and compassionate a guy he is....And intelligence doesn't breed compassion! That's something you either have or you don't! And if he has it, who says he needs intelligence to express it? Live and let live guys! He's a guy who lost his mother at a young age and is just trying to laugh and smile despite the cards he's bein' dealt! And for someone who has been dealt such cards to still go on TV, allow others (Including presenters) to mock and make fun of him just so others can laugh is incredibly selfless...I think so atleast...
one it Celebrity Juice it meant to be like that it all fun and games he didn't take it the wrong and two if you live in england you should know your on the border of wales and scotland even a 5 year old knows that
I agree with you, he should've known, I'm from Ireland (Obviously not too far) but, I knew what borders England, I would've assumed it was common knowledge and I was surprised he didn't know it...And yes, it is a comedy panel show which pokes fun at all contestants, not just Joey...But, my point really was aimed more so at the commenters being so mean spirited towards someone they don't know....It's hard not to judge someone, we all do it but, when you try hard not to be so prejudice (Not you, I'm just saying, in general) it feels more worthwhile because people always tend to surprise you....My point again..."It's not only academic knowledge that contributes to our world", everybody has the potential to positivly impact us personally or our world collectively.
look I agree on the most part with you but what worries me is that when young impressionable people see him on TV they think that they don't need intelligence to be successful. he does seem like a nice guy and I do feel sorry for his loss but making him into a role model for young people isn't a good thing. Just my opinion.
I really like Joey but I'm fairly sure he isn't anywhere near as stupid as people make him out to be. He always strikes me as someone who plays the old 'Court Jester, Juggling Fool' trick to his advantage. Like with comedians that pretended to play the piano badly; they tended to actually be extremely skilled pianists. Maybe I have too much faith in Joey and 'celebrities' similar to him but ever since I first saw him on tele, I always felt that a lot of what you see is a very well crafted act.
All the haters, need to get a life! Joey is beautiful so shut up just because you are jealous, jealously doesn't get you anywhere in life. Love you so much joey xo
You have some genuine celebrities from Essex that I like, such as Gary Webster. He's so cool and down-to-earth. I also quite like Jamie Oliver - at least, compared to Gordon Ramsey.
Come on! He must be making it up. No one is that thick. "What is the capital of France?" "Um? Paris?". "What country borders Wales?" "London?" I mean what the heck?
Our educational system is in crisis if this is what we are turning out, also his parents must shoulder some of the blame. Its a reflection of the nations aspirations that make this tool a celebrity. God help the next generation. When the film 'Idiocracy' came out in 2006 I thought it a bit over the top, but after watching this Idiot, it looks like an realistic documentary about today's youth 20 years from now....
Rafael Smith ...and? lots of single parent families bring there kids up with a decent education. It's painfully obvious that this kid hasn't been taught the importance of education, so he has absolutely no interest in learning. The TV bosses glorifying in his 'thickness' are only saying to other uneducated kids that they don't need to go to school either, they need to be more responsible than that.
It's fine to make fun of Joey Essex, but people who are just getting nasty about it are just jealous that this guy has made more money in a year than they could make in a 10 years in their boring jobs
Joey Essex has managers or agents around him who are not thick and manipulate the "Being thick" to his advantage. Also making him money. Regarding Joey and the TOWIE set. A friend of mine who is a publican mentioned that some TOWIE scenes had been shot in his pub. When asked about the cast members he simply said that they really are as thick as they appear on screen. It's not an act!
