I want to correct something: Abe Lincoln did not eat at Keens. Keens was actually founded 20 years after his death. The restaurant displays some items that are related to Lincoln, such as the large painting in the video (I also hear the playbill he was holding when he was assassinated is displayed there). Somehow I got wires crossed and accidentally thought for a sec that Lincoln ate there. My mistake!
As soon as you mentioned it i noticed that previously in the video, on the front door, it said est 1885 and that it would have been impossible. Thankfully you corrected yourself, good work!
I'm a vegetarian and live 1,000s of miles away from NYC, so I can't even eat 99% of what you review, yet I have watched every UA Eats video since the beginning haha. You're a kind dude living his best life. Love the content!
One of the most over looked aspects of this channel is the fact that he usually gets no special treatment unlike a lot of celebrity food bloggers or popular RU-vidrs in general. He’s getting the same quality of food that everyone else gets. It’s as real as it gets
might have to do with the 48K followers lol - he could walk up to any Maitre d' and say hi I'm UA! and they would say uhhh okay, are you dining alone...?
I just discovered your channel and I love it! As a former New Yorker that no longer lives there, I live vicariously through your videos. Great stuff UA!
I went to keens during my visit to new York last Jan. Because of your review of the mutton chop. So glad I went. Such a great steakhouse. The mutton was so tender and flavorful and different than beef, and I loved their huge scotch and whiskey list. I also bought one of their clay pipes to display at my house. 😂
Hi UA--love the channel! At your suggestion, I had the “taste of mutton” for lunch today! Absolutely delicious and an incredible value at $29!! Also had the bananas foster for dessert. Fantastic. Thanks for the tip, really appreciate it. Keep up the great work.
I always enjoy your food reviews, even those of foods I may not like. If I may offer my observation on one thing that has bothered me while watching your videos, it is when you eat from the side dish with the serving spoon. The serving spoon is meant to put some of the side onto your main plate. It is not meant to be used to eat whatever the side dish is. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your future food reviews.
UA I've been following your channel since watching your peter luger video... Your channel is THE ONLY food review channel in youtube that gives honest, thorough and detailed information whether a food is good or bad... Keep up the excellent work and please never change even when your channel getting bigger in the future... Greetings from Indonesia👍
None or most of the names mentioned regarding the pipes werenever there , actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman was there all the time usually sitting all the way 2 nd to or last chair on right at bar , I have gotten his seat several times 😅😊
Due to some medical issues recently my diet is very limited. Watching your videos brings the flavors and joys of eating beautifully prepared food to me instantly. I really enjoy your videos and appreciate you sharing them. Thank you
I'm so glad to hear the T-Bone Steak was so outstanding/juicy! and that the food arrived so quickly. A friend of mine years ago always liked this steakhouse best. I always appreciate the level of detail and analysis in your videos.
UA, if I may offer some critique. When you first get the steak cut directly through the thickest part. First reason is to accurately judge doneness, most cuts just can’t be cooked evenly like this T bone and will show a little more well toward the edges. Secondly, if the steak is not cooked correctly you will want to notify the staff ASAP, not halfway through the meal when you reach the thick point and realize it’s either over/under. The staff will want to know at these high end restaurants, but it’s best to check the thickest part of the steak before making a judgement call.
Hi UA. Love your channel, the level of detail you go into and that you're not just a cheerleader. You go a lot of places I can't afford so I u ever do get to one I'll know what is really worth it. I just moved back to Chicago.. I am STUNNED at the quality and diversity of restaurants here. Not quite NYC but close man. If you come here, please do kind of what you did in Vegas and hit maybe 4 or 5 places at least and only one for deep dish pizza! I'm telling you man stay in the west loop and you'll be able to walk to 20 different world class restaurants in a one mile radius. They're not cheap but def cheaper than NYC and some awesome international restaurants too.
Really enjoy your videos UA. You are always fun to watch. I would like to offer a suggestion. When you point your camera at the menu you tend to focus on what you are going to choose. It would be helpful if we could view an entire section, as well as holding it there a bit so we have time to look it over. I believe this would help us learn more about the restaurant. Thanks.
Saw an episode of No Reservations on Keens about 10 yrs ago. Decided to try the Mutton because it looked so good. Maybe it was just a bad night but it was very gamey and not tender.
Try del friscos by Rockefeller center. Their bone in ribeye is very good. Bread excellent. Blue cheese salad with bacon excellent. And their lemon layer cake is a signature must. The best !!!
Great to see your channel growing!! I think I subscribed about 15k subscribers ago, and that was only late last year. Good luck UA, I love your reviews!!

I visited Keens for its mutton chop and ordered "taste of mutton" and yes after watching your review! Must say it is delicious. I am going to visit NYC is April and will go again 😊
Nice second review, brother! Keen's is in my top 5, and I always enjoy. I'm going to shoot to Porter House tomorrow, one of the best $39 lunch specials around (Time Warner Center) Thanks again for a great review!
I had Prime rib kings cut and they throw it on the flame to char the outside and it was absolutely incredible! That Lincoln playbill actually has his own blood on it!
I’ve been to Gallaghers and to Lugers. We might be back in New York next spring and Keens and/or Delmonico’s are on the short list next. Thanks for your reviews Ue.
The creamed spinach looked amazing. I agree with the steak. I would have gone for the prime rib personally. And the cheesecake looked delicious but needed some fresh fruit alongside and a small garnish for $14. Overall, I’d try it.
Although Keens is a very good restaurant , I find the steaks are not seasoned properly and are also not cooked properly as you discovered in your review. Mutton chop is definitely the go to dish along with the creamed spinach . For steak, I'll trust Sparks everytime .
i think the dilemma you pose about cooking t bones can be solved easily by sous vide the steaks until it reaches the desired core temp, and then just sear it off quickly for a amazing crust.
Hi UA. I really enjoy your videos, but please you have to start eating the food and finishing it.. that's my favorite part about watching food videos seeing the plate empty. LoL 😂
WOW! UA Keens is the perfect place for a splurge for sure but worth it in NY CITY. THE T-bone must have just been awesome. The crust was outstanding on the NY STRIP side but filet was not so good you're right have to cook the filet on the cooler side NY STRIP sirloin on the hot side of grill!!! The limeade worth the price refreshing. Creamed spinach perfect!!!! Rolls were perfect looking. You got the NY CHEESECAKE. I loved the light texture of the cream cheese the cake and even though the Graham cracker crust was not crunchy which is what I like it still looks amazing! All in all expensive for me but if I was to splurge I would pick KEENE'S. I know Peter Luger is a five star steak house but you said Keene's Steak House was great too. Look at how crowded already!!!! Great revue of Keene's
Keens' mutton chop (which is not true mutton, it's just slightly older lamb) is pretty good, but their steaks are better. T-bone/porterhouse is the way to go. Their prime rib is great too - and it's the size of the Manhattan yellow pages. Too bad the temp was slightly off, that does sometimes happen even at the best places. For desserts I like their sundaes.
Hi UA.. fan from the UK… you should try the Benjamin if you haven’t already… I believe similar to Wolfgang’s the owner is ex Peter Luger but when I went a few years back was a fantastic Porterhouse.
