Morning Matty, his place in our history should be assured, he was the start of the new era, his signing was important in getting everybody else in, we should all wish him well.
Trust me bro. Trips is going!! There is a lot more ging on than anyone realises. Fantasic player and he was the signing that breathed the belief into our squad that saved our season. if it wasn't for him putting pen to paper for the toon. We was foooked. Good luck to the lad where ever he goes. 👌👏👏
It's not an exaggeration to say Tripps was a major factor in saving us from relegation and getting us into the champions league. All the 'experts' said we wouldnt be able to attract players to join a relegation fight and him signing was the major turning point. Since then his quality and leadership have been amazing. I think he has more than earned the right to choose his own future - so for me if he wants to stay then he stays, and if he gets an opportunity he likes, then he goes. People say there's no room for sentimentality in football, but there should still be some room for loyalty when it's deserved.
I don't think it's a case of us letting him go, but actually it's him wanting to leave, given what he has done for our club we can't begrudge him a move.
Trippier is one of the bigger players we have who aint sponsored by Adidas, Isak, Gordon, J7, Bruno all are so not sure if that has anything to do with the Adidas promo's
He has been an amazing signing for us, our best ever left back! After what happened last season his wife may well want him away, he will always be a Toon legend here and always will be
If trips was 28/29 years old I would be gutted as he was the 1st proper footballer we have had in years but let's face It he is 33/34 and tino is the future and now. Good luck and thanks trips if he goes.
Watched extended highlights of a recent England U21 game featuring Chelsea’s Madueke and was very impressed. He also was a game changer in their run in to 6th. I would certainly buy him.
Tripps was the name i put on the back of the first toon too i bought in at least 6 years The reason he was our first signature signing but for me even the lacellles was officially the captain we all know trippier was real captain but the fact he talked up lascalles as club captain set the precedent of the howe culture of the club. He brought experience seniority and leadership at elite level i would prefer he fin career with us became a coach and learnt from howe then was a potential manager in future. But like ritchie dummet etc the value of that consistency of culture and values passed to youth and new players ls invaluable. Look at man u once they stopped that continuity they have collapsed to the current stars not a team
Crumpets is for late evening not breakfast nawty Matt . Now your saving for Japan trip I hope your on the Aldi brand and not Warburtons...the difference is none existent just big savings. Im not fussed if trips goes or not what I do know is he will always be a legend here smashing a crucial free kick in v Everton with a broken toe to help keep us up.
For me trippier is a signing for me I would be gutted if he leaves, he could have 10 bad games in a row a would still be behind him, one of those signings I would be disappointed if he leaves, one of those players for me stays till the end of his career a just couldn't do it and sell
Matty go and search a player for Red Bull Salzburg called Karim Konate. He’s 20yrs old. He scored 20 goals in 29 games last season. Hardly no teams are speaking about him. I wish we would go in for him. Most teams are talking about Sesko as the striker they want, honestly we could go in there and get Karim Konate and we would have an absolute GEM on our hands.
5:32 I’ve had an idea how to fix FFP and actually make the league more fair and stop wages going through the roof and fee… Why can’t any teams owner only invest upto the exact same amount of revenue, as the team with the highest revenue? So say Aston Villa, Everton, Us, etc. can put in the difference between your clubs revenue and the Revenue of Liverpool/Man City/Man U/whoever has the highest? So no one can keep throw in more and more. That way those teams don’t get to live of owners and players that played 30+ years ago? I can tell you how we will fix the other bits around ie not leaving clubs in tonnes of debt or wages it can’t cover; but just for now, does that make sense, is it fair and do you think it will work better than what we have now and taking handbreak all the way off?
It's really interesting to look at Michael Olise's stats over the past 3 seasons with Palace (He was with Reading prior to that in the Championship)....... 2023/24: 10 goals & 6 assists from 19 games (started 13 of those matches). 2022/23: 2 goals & 11 assists from 37 games. 2021/22: 2 goals & 5 assists from 26 games. So it appears that he's just had a hot run of form this past season - rather like Miggy had with us in the previous season. The stats also highlight the fact that he's often injured. So on reflection I disagree with Matty & those who think the sun shines out of Olise's arse. He's a good player but he hasn't got the consistency that we need. Is he really that much of an improvement on Miggy? He's certainly not worth £60M - if Chelsea buy him then they've probably done us a favour.
Both Trips and Wilson are looking for a retirement pay day in Saudi when they leave Newcastle. That’s not to say this coming season however it’s on the cards. Bruno is also likely to leave, I would hold off getting names on the back of shirts until the season starts. The certs to stay are players like Tonali, Joelinton, Pope, Schar, Tino, Miles, Anderson, Gordon, Barnes, Murphy, Botman
Olise since I seen him against us (ripped a new one) woukd be my favourite player, he's got everything . But Chelsea are odds on favourites to sign him. He's 8/1 to sign for us on sky bet but you never know.
I think it's the right time to sell, he is getting older, legs going, getting more complacent. Get another young more versatile replacement and promote tino to first team. I rate tino more than trips I think tino can be just as good if not better. And for ffp getting 10mil for a 33 year old rb. However as a leader and and good role model is why I'd wanna keep him
Be sad to see him go but with this fair play bollicks in a world of business the older he gets the price will go down. I've got a feeling they'll take the price for him unfortunately but we are being forced to trade in .
I'd let trippier go. 15 million for a player of that age with 1 year left. Plus Tino. What a player to already have there. Olise would be a dream for any of us toon fans. Looking forward to this transfer market. Aslong as we don't lose isak Gordon or bruno lol
He a leader but obviously they has been rumours off the Pitch since Bournemouth beat us down there then he came back from England his head never looked right .Eddie said he would only be out a few weeks which turned out to be 10 weeks. Be A Great Shame he’s been Fantastic for us but he has to do what’s right for his Family.
I think Tripps may go but I don't think he'd push for a move, so he will let the club decide. FFP will force us into sales, he is an option for funds. Prefer to see Targett, Miggy, Dubravka go first
I'd miss the guy, but I'm not inconsolable. Provided we can get a decent understudy for tino, its all good. We do gotta get a nice little sum for him tho, somewhere between 10-20m
A dont understand why or how the sale of trips would help us in ffp? We'd literally make 3mil on him. Bought him for 12, sell him for 15 🤔 granted, he'd be off the wage bill. But for 3mil, he's crucial behind the scenes. Correct is if am wrong but ad rather let him run his contract down and have him for 1 more year
Selling him is definite no, he’s got one more good season in him I think and he’s better than Kraft if we decide to play tino more next season, plus he’s got huge experience and leadership
He’s done his job. When you buy a player over 30 you can’t expect him to play at the highest level for years and years. A couple of seasons is all we needed from him and he gave us that. Last season showed his legs are totally gone, he lost us a lot of games with his mistakes. Thanks for everything Tripps but it’s time to move on.
Only way we will sign olise is if no other club wants him ..hype always puts prices up for average players... .the project is not gaining pace ..ffp or not
Said on various platforms, if it’s down to football and ambition Olise will come here, if he doesn’t it’s simply down to either money or staying in London and can’t see him going to BM.
How? Newcastle play terrible football compared to the london teams, and Newcastle have zero history of success. Stop thinking you're bigger than you are. You're a small club.
I would understand it if the club wanted to sell him while they can still get a fee, thanks to crappy FFP. I would also understand it if he wanted to play out his contract and then look for one last pay day as a free agent. I would also understand it if he got offered a move to a club that would give him one last season in Europe or something. The bloke has been integral to our rise from being relegation fodder. I dont begrudge him anything, really.
Seen enough car crash performances from him this season, time to move him on. Tino is more than ready to take the right back spot, he is our future after all.
Trippier wants to go to get one last pay day. He was good at the start but he is getting old and his mistakes and personal misendeavors have cost us dearly. So I would sell him.
We can’t control social media, so going forward players just need training not to look at it. It’s not fans’ fault for voicing opinion, just because technology now funnels it all together and makes it feel like a tsunami
24 games either missed or played less than 25 minutes last season for Olise I'm pretty sure same shit season before, he's brittle as fk... Get Brian mbeumo
