@@Narcissist-d6gkishane is the new bold but has no gold or world titles to his name? You guys need to get off that hype train and come back to reality. Yes he has potential but you guys are getting way over your heads.
Thompson is on another level in terms of talent. If he is healthy, he will destroy Lyles. He is the great talent who was missing from the 100m for several years.
Destroy? I definitely think Lyles could potentially lose to him but not by a big margin as you're making it out to be. I definitely see Noah running 9.7. Kishane has the capabilities to do well in his first Olympics, we'll see how it translates.
@@KoolKaiser To me I consider "destroy" if Kishane were to win let's say 9.70 & second got 9.80 or slower. So like more than 0.07+. Personally, I just don't see that margin of victory happening but definitely see some fast times happening in Paris in my opinion.
@@TheWayWithKhuwayne None of the American will be able run as fast as Kishane Thompson he will overwhelmed them by running some of them pbs or sb in the preliminary rounds and he will carry Oblique Seville with him in the finals… Whoever thinks he’s not the fastest in the race is not watching his numbers and who is coaching him.. His coach won gold at every Olympic for 20 plus years..
No such thing as a lock. Remember Bromell? He rang 9.76 before Tokyo. He didn't even make the final. On paper YES he should win. And if what they say is true. He should become the 2nd fastest man of alltime in Paris. If he shut it down and clocked 9.77 in Jamaica. 9.67 will be easily possible for him flat out. We gonna see soon right.
@@barrylloyd5864 he didn’t run that 9.77 easily idk what race you was looking at 🤣🤣 a great time but stop gassing that up. It’s a reason why nobody has run faster than 9.76

@@TheFinalLegas a Jamaican I really hope we can take home two medals from this event especially gold but it will take the person who is really ready and truly wants it on the day 😂👍
@journeywithkeleene3641 The race is open as far as the silver and bronze is concern… Let’s not kid ourselves, the heavy Foveate for the gold medal is Kishane according to his flash time of 9.73 while he was trying to slow it down..
Well 2008 was Shelly Ann Frazer first international competition in an individual event as a SENIOR and we all know how that worked out. She was under the guidance of coach FRANCIS Kishane's Coach. The Argument of whether he can handle the rounds should be put to bed now. 1. Kishane 2 previous 9.85 and 9.87 was done outside Jamaica 2. He ran 3 rounds similar to what is required in the Olympic and ran easy 9.82 then 9.84 & 9.77 this done at sea level 3. Lets remind everyone that the USA trials in Eugene is at a slight altitude and when adjusted NOAH's time is Equivalent to 9.85 at sea leavel the same time he ran at the RACERS Grand Prix loosing to Seville. The same can be said of Ferdinand time in Kenya . Wishing all the best to all the athletes may the best person on the day Win.
Don't know where this "can Kishane Thompson handle the rounds?" came from as he just proved that he can run 9.8s in rounds and 9.7 when it really matters. The real question is whether he has the sense of the moment and the mental strength to handle the pressure of the finals. He's the clear favorite for Gold right now imo if he remains injury free and can maintain or even slightly improve on current form.
Exactly. Rounds? KT ran faster than Lyles ever in thr heats and then 9.77s in thr final. And people are questioning his ability to go through round and make the final?? 😂😂
He ran against SEVILLE who recently beat Lyle so he can run the rounds. Plus he has had the experience from last year in running against top athletes in the DIAMOND LEAGUE.
Kishane is well coached and will conserve his energy in the prelims and semi-finals. We all saw how he shut it down early in the finals of the trials. It will be an extremely exciting 100 m finals on Aug. 4th in Paris.
@@danielh3179 i’m so glad he is with Frano. and he also seems to be focused on executing Franco’s instructions.i can’t wait to celebrate our new 100m olympic king. God preserve him for us
This is the best argument for Lyles winning. I agree with you. Outside of this, anyone can win. We have seen enough occasions to know that you can win the event without a super fast time. So, as much as I want to see my Jamaicans win or medal, this field is WIDE OPEN. I remember last year how Rae from ' Raes Take insisted that Shacarri can't won't medal because she had up to that point not proven herself to be able to manage the big moments as she had NO EXPERIENCE at that level. Well, we saw how that ended. Lyles has the best combination of assets - fearless, confident, determined, experienced, injury free, constantly improving times, and consistency. BUT I maintain this year is the first time in a long time the field has been so wide open.
Given the non-stop back & forth between Kishane & Noah fans, would be the funniest thing if a non-US/JAM athlete ends up winning the 100m Final in Paris :) Can you imagine the discourse if Marcell Jacobs who's technically in better form heading into Paris '24 than Tokyo '21 wins back-to-back Olympic 100m Titles?!
If it's Marcell Gold, Tebogo Silver, Simbine Bronze, USA and Jamaica will still just argue who finished higher in the non medal positions😂 And like you said Marcell winning is VERY realistic right now
I am firmly Team Kishane, but I must admit that it would be HILARIOUS if that happened. Secretly, I would be happy if Marcell defended his title. This is especially after seeing what he’s been dealing with and how backhanded Noah was in that Sprint Docuseries.
@@TheFinalLeg They would 100% argue who finished higher in the remaining non-medal positions :) IF Noah doesn't win 100m Gold, does he still try to get himself in the M4x4 later in the wk or will he blow it off if he's no longer in the running to win 4 Golds like he wants to?!
@@runwithyaz From one of the very few critics' reviews I've been able to find on 'Sprint'; "And while clips from key races showcase the exhilarating intensity of sprinting, there is little insight...The result is a documentary that seems more like a sport-adjacent reality show or a polished PR campaign."
Out of everyone, Noah is probably the most consistent runner in the field over the past few years. With the lack of injuries to his improvements from 60m/150m to him slowing down towards the end of his US Trials final, he definitely has more in the tank. Given his coach's recent interview from US Trials, I definitely believe Noah can get 9.7 by the time the Olympics and potentially win. A lot of people underestimated Lyles at Budapest and this year at US Trials and I think it would be very comical to do so here given his race history. For Kishane, he definitely has the mechanics to win the Gold medal. However, he lacks World & Olympic experience so it's not 100% clear of how he can perform on the big stage. Without injuries, he definitely has a great opportunity to shine but to be a World/Olympic Champion, it definitely requires more than physical attributes to win. Similar to Seville, who has yet to have medalled at a World Championships as an individual athlete, it's honestly about getting to the next step up for him. Marcell Jacobs definitely has a great opportunity to be in the mix considering his European Championship victory a couple of weeks ago and that he is injury free. There are others who could definitely contest but I think right now, this may be the 4 in my mind who could pull medals at this moment. This 100m is definitely going to be a warzone in Paris.
I still think he is not a 100 meter sprinter of the highest caliber. The other guys are more explosive, and if they are in their top shape, Lyles may not even medal.
@@yawos9024 But yet Noah has beaten many of these "explosive" athletes multiple times over the past few years in the 100m. Not only does your execution in a race matter but also in how you're mentally prepared. I think Noah isn't at his limit in the 100m.
@@TheWayWithKhuwayne The weak ones! Did Noah beat Seville this time? Kishane and Seville are running times Noah has so far not replicated. He will be luck to medal in the 100.
@@TheWayWithKhuwayneNL isn't near his limit? He was running 9.88s in 2018 and 9.86 in 2019. 9.83s in 2024... lol, he's maxed out, in 5 years people will keep on saying the same thing: Lyles is going to run 9.7s this season. Lol
Anyone saying Kishane Thompson is a lock to win gold at the Olympics is delusional. Kishane has yet to show up on the world stage against other great talents. However, he does seem to have some natural ability as a sprinter. Noah has been the most consistent male sprinter on the world stage for the last couple of years. Kenny Bednarek is also killing it this season. And Fred Kerley seems to be returning back to form. He has won gold and silver medals against the top competition in the world and he is now is 9.8 shape and has run 9.7. No one is a lock for gold at this point. The 100m at the Olympics will be very interesting!
KISHANE THOMPSON right now is the person to beat in the PARIS OLYMPIC 100M final barring no injury or illness. It's NOT wide open-what KISHANE THOMPSON did running full races at the JAM Trials for the first time is EXCEPTIONAL it's almost equivalent to Bolt breaking Asafa Powell WR for the 100m just before the Beijing Olympics.
Agree..would not be surprised if we (the US) are kept off the podium in the 100m..Kishane, Seville, Omanyala, Tebogo, Jacobs, Simbine all are problems..for the 200, I think Tebogo takes one of our guys out but two Americans medal
I agree. I could see a podium with Kishane, Fred, and either Noah or Oblique. At the end of the day, Noah won the 100m last year when all the best 100m runners in the last couple of years were at their worst/injured: Kerley, Bromell, Bracy-Williams, Coleman (was good but not close to his 2019 self), Jacobs, de Grasse. Obviously he still earned the title, but he did get lucky in terms of those guys being out for the opportunity. I still think if any of those guys were at their very best (except maybe De Grasse) they would have beaten Lyles last year.
@@Tredawakandan Surprise in doing what? Beating Noah Lyles? All of Kishane Thompson times running the rounds was faster than the 9.88 that Fred ran in the finals.. The same for Oblique Seville one or two of rounds was faster than Fred 9.88
@@tyeguy5373 Believe that 9 .88 is the fastest Fred can run all you want. We all saw what happened to the last 3 Jamaican champions , they couldn't even buy a spot on the podium. Speaking about Oblique Seville,one of if not the fastest Jamaicans in the past 3 years, did he ever win a championship ? National or anything ??. He's a choke artist !!;
@@tyeguy5373 Fred ran 9.7 twice in a day before. Yes, he only has gone 9.88 so far this year, but he has the fastest PR, and the most impressive day of everyone going to Paris. He also had 3 sub-9.8s to his name.
This is an interesting take on who the podium favorites are for the men's 100 in Paris. There are so many factors that will determine the actual outcome when it counts. I'm super excited to see who will come out on top. I have to admit that Thompson's appeared to have running with ease during the 9.77 performance. Having said that, I'm team pulling for team US. I say "let the games begin".
The 100 m final at the Olympic. I am so nervous there are so much guys that are so good that gonna be in the one of Jimmy to final. It’s gonna be amazing jamaica U.S.A Africa and others. OMG it makes me nervous .but let’s get the show started. I’m not calling any name because these guys are so good. Well, let me call two names . Thomson & Lyles those are the two people that’s on the top list but anyone can win
The thing you have to remember aswel about omanyala is he only has run super fast in Kenya at higher altude and never has run super fast outside of Kenya so I would take omanyala out of the contention
He is fast, but mentally weak. He runs his mouth only in Kenya. His swagger is superficial. Kishane has a quite confidence. He is also very intelligent.
@Kingstomadeproduction Oblique Seville is heavy favorite for the silver medal only because Kishane is the only one can run him down and catch him.. Something Noah Lyles couldn’t do to him, but when Seville get that start on it’s difficult to catch him so far only Kishane with his massive top end speed..
It is not about fastest. It is however about who is the strongest. They must have the stretto go through the rounds and then still have the speed for the finals. As such, we cannot forget sprinters like Tebogo, Seville, and a host of others. Sone of the fastest are also injury prone. All I can say is that it’s going to be a barn burner
Noah beating Omanyala, Kerley , Seville & Coleman before i guess shows he can't beat Thompson. I believe Noah when he said racing at home vs the Olympics are two different things 💯. Lets see how the bright lights change things
Marcell Jacob’s probably isn’t even going to make the final, if he does he is getting last place. Noah Lyle’s is also most likely going to beat oblique and kishane will win unless he is like asafa Powell and can’t perform under pressure or something
I love Thompson he at the top of the class he have the fastest time until he get the gold then am happy many simple things can go wrong with any of these sprinters best man win
Consistency with 9.83 may not win a medal at Paris..You have to go below because the field is very stacked. We are going to experience London 2012 100m final at Paris
It definitely is a very good field. Noah is very experienced, and always seem to be able to dig deep enough to get the win. I think though, that if Thompson can be relaxed and confident, he could upset the field, but he is relatively inexperience on this stage and that could hurt him.
Noah was really disregarding towards Jacobs . It's Kishane for me. Jacobs could make sure he is in the top 3 to block Noah out. I honestly do believe if all the 100m specialist really show up and manage their rounds, Noah cannot medal. Hence they need to show up‼️
There is no CLEAR favorite for the men's 100m (neither the women's in view). They all have to do the rounds and once the final reaches, all the main protagonists will have an even chance to win it.
What sets Noah apart is his mental strength!!! All these other guys stand a chance & can only beat him if they play a mental game!!! Everyone is fit & doing all the work!!
Great analysis Anderson! The rounds in Paris will be intense. I have DeGrasse, Kerley & Jacobs in danger of not making the final. In the final, it’ll be put up or shut up time for Noah - 9.75 or better will get gold and more likely 9.7. I want to say Tebogo’s a sleeper but I don’t trust that his start has gotten much better and such a drastic PR is asking for too much. Kishane can win if he manages his energy in the rounds. I’ll make a more informed pick after the 1st round, but right now I gotta go with Noah for gold. He has the mental advantage over the field and I believe the pressure will help step up his execution to where it needs to be.
Final Leg, are you in Paris - Love you rational; it is excellent!!!!!!! Will all these 12 men get to the final - no; ONLY 9 will go if the track is a 9 lane but otherwise 8 and remember the new rules - any athletes drawn for finals and withdraw - the lane will be fill with the next best athlete!!! Love this which provide a chance to correct mistakes.
It’s funny that no one wants to say that Lyles might not make the podium in the 100, when it’s so so obvious! Lyles needs too many things to fall in place for him to be victorious, sure it did in Budapest, however in Paris there is even more that has to! Consider easily that Lyles needs 5 or more guys to not do well and he to not have a hiccup! Crazy stuff!
As far as I see it this final is gonna be verg quick, there is so much people who can make the final realistically: Jacobs Lyles Thompson Seville Simbine Omanyala Kerley Bednarek Akeem blake De grasse Tebogo Zharnel hughes I might be missing some too
One info about Jacobs, 13th and 14th july hes gonna simulate olympics. Hes gonna run in Rieti here in Italy and will do heats on the 13th, semis and finals on 14th. Its gonna be very interesting
@@Dariuslynel You indicate the difference between two places to states comfortable at home compared to a place he is unfamiliar I was just stating we know how to make use of what we are given

Yup, I think we're all getting caught up in us vs Jamaica and forgetting everyone else around the world. Like 2-3 months ago everyone was claiming Tebogo was going to win double gold
Jamaica? Yes! U.S.A? I doubt. There have been championships in which the U.S. did not medal. I think this is going to be another time. The U.S. sprinters are good, but not on the level of Gatlin and Tyson Gay. The fact that Noah is the foremost U.S. sprinters says a lot about U.S. sprinting. It is weak. I was hoping Coleman would resuscitate it, but he choked. I think he ran too strong in the semis when his group was the weakest. I still think Coleman is the fastest American today.
🤣how do you know he's not a choke artist like Asafa Powell, running fast at home on an island doesn't really mean anything for a championship in Europe, Noah beat 100m guys that were faster than him last year, he's a proven champion
@jusbusff9306 slow down and take time to understand, it doesnt matter how fast you are in a Global final, you have to win that race in the finals. Asafa Powell never beat Gaitlin or Greene in a global final but he had the faster PB. Noah is a proven Champion and he wasn't even a 100m runner last year when he won.He will only get better, what race has Kishane won off the island of Jamaica? Now you expect him to win the biggest race of the year 🤔
@@ronester1so you are saying he might choke in the final so he won’t win. anything might happen to anyone. lyle’s might pull a hamstring. however all things being equal no one on that list is as fast as Kishane therefore if he is in the final and is healthy he is the superior athlete.
I put Seville ahead of Thompson for consistency...People are already speaking about Thompson breaking Bolt's 100m record which is a ridiculous conversation...He is to heavy, he is powerful maybe he will get a 9.72 like Powel in races which does not matter but I can't see him winning any major races or running sub 9.70 like Gaye and Blake...Let's remember Coleman, Fred and Omanyala have all ran 9.7s, yet no one would have them as favorite to win a 100m global medal at this moment...I can't see Noah going sub-9.80 but he can pull off a 9.82 any time he wishes and I still think he is the most likely to win...With the quality of 100m spiriting being sub par to Bolts reign a solid 9.80 is a win. My top 3 would be Lyles, Seville, Thompson...Tebogo and Jacobs are wild cards and can have a surprise win....Anyone who does not have a PB of sub 9.85 should not even be in this discussion.
Seville over Thompson for consistency based on what??? Thompson hasn't even ran enough for that to even be a logical comparison. As a matter of fact, the past trials were his first time doing rounds. He is too heavy? you saw his weight on the scale? Even if he was you think it cant decrease? You funny...If Franno wants him to break the WR he will take care of minor issues like that, its just a matter of if he is good enough. Thats not this season though.
kishane is 6 feet one inch and 170 pounds. How is that too heavy please? if he is in that 100m final without any injury no one on that list can beat him.
If KT keeps healthy and go through the rounds smoothly, then it is possible to do a PB - back off 1/10of a second; therefore, we are looking to see a 9.6s or 9.7s for the GOLD in Paris 2024. It HOT and difficult to call before the semi-finals races - call it after the finalist are selected; ALL the athletes are hunger for the podium more so the GOLD which will influence a fiery race. HooooOTTTTT
Just want to say time for USA to get back on podium for gold. I feel Fred Kerley is the guy. Been since 2004 Justin Gatlin. Time for our men to rise up knock Jamaica down.
If Kishanne remains healthy he should win. However I agree one cannot ever count out Noah or even Fred. Jacobs in my view will struggle to make the finals. My top three are Oblique, Noah, Kishane in any order.
Cap Noah Lyle’s is not capable of running 9.7 unless the wind is very high and kishane is guaranteed the win if he runs 9.77 in the Olympics or even 9.80 he will still win(depending on the wind)
Empty Vessels Sounds Much - So we see here for Kishane Thompson - He rans 9.77 in Jamaican's Selection but in Olympics 9.789 - He could have ran 9.77 here in Olympics - Since Years USA didn't won Olympics Gold in 100m - Hence Kishane Thompson Made USA win Gold - History Repeats - USA The Top Sprinters
Personally i believe what Noah said about racing at Home vs The Olympics.. He already beat Kerley & Coleman who both at the moment hold higher PR. Honestly the 100m is still too close for me say who will win clearly. Kishane to me has to prove he can get consistent good times in the Olympics. Honestly I'm not gonna front i would not surprised if Kerley actually pulled something out and made top 3. Of course i also got Lyles in the top 3 but the remaining spot is too hard. Kenny , Tebogo, Hughes , Seville also are all possible candidates.
@Tradawakendan The numbers doesn’t add up for Noah, you maybe a fan of Noah but that will him against this kid, Kishane will separate from the crowd really fast and run himself somewhere into 9.6s.. With his explosive start out the blocks, even if he get left in the block he as a massive top end speed. Go back and watch how he ran down Oblique something Noah couldn’t do to Seville..
@@tyeguy5373And the numbers didn't add up for Noah prior to last season and still dont😅 . Once again Noah already beat guys who on record are faster than Thompson. At the moment I'm going with Thompson home court advantage possibly giving him the advantage. He has to prove to me he can consistently run those times at the Olympics. Y'all really love to forget how Lyles beat Seville before. Seville literally has lost the big races for the last couple of seasons. The same way Noah proved himself in the 100m is simply the same way I want Kishane to prove himself. If he is the fastest as you believe han he will walk away with Gold. Personally as seen I have Lyles but even then I know the Field is very competitive and there's a crop of 4-7 guys I feel could get first
