Guys, please don't fly straight to Delhi or Mumbai after Kolkata. Please do visit North Bengal (the hilly northern part of West Bengal). You'll really like it.
@@Infrazone- arre dirtiest mai toh 1no pe Bihar 2no pe uttar pradesh tha nah niti ayog k data k hisab se ? Kolkata most dirtiest kabse ho gaya gawari mai bhi wai dono hai aur tu loda unn dono states ka hi chutiya hai isliye kuch bolega nai 😂
It is a good trip progression for you from Bangladesh to India, as you can really understand the similarities and differences between these neighbouring countries that way. It is a lot like other places in Europe as well: you have a culturally, economically and politically dominating neighbour that influences the others for better or worse reasons. It's a beautiful thing, and how it has been forever throughout history. A cultural tug of war.
You both have picked up quite nice Bengali language. Mamu is mainly used in Bangladesh and Kolkata uses “dada” or “didi” generally to address unknowns. The building which is on the background of Nandan lake is called “the 42” and the tallest building in india. It’s not building no 43. It’s named 42 because the address. Is 42 Chowringhee road Kolkata . Amazing video I must say
Just want to say THANK YOU!! I’am 39 years old and was adopted from Calcutta India 🇮🇳 when I was 3 months old. I travel quit a bit worldwide but for personal reason haven’t gone back home yet… But watching these vids you two beautiful souls give me encouragement ❤
I'm from Assam, and my heart has a special place for Kolkata as growing up I could live there for some months and the people there were so nice and benevolent.

Kolkata is a land of music You may find music concert everywhere. Most of the famous well known Bollywood films singers,Music directors and actors from Kolkata . I heard almost every house they practice singing.
That's my Kolkata - I have lived out of the country for 21 years and will return soon. Thank you for making such a beautiful and interesting video on the City Of Joy.
Kolkata is not just a city we live in it's a living breathing part of our lives,,,❤ One more thing, we don't address people by calling them 'mamu' we call them 'Dada' here in kolkata, mamu is a Bangladeshi way of addressing people
Guys try to say "Nomoshkaar" (pronounce kaar as car) instead of "Namaste" when you're in West Bengal. That's the word for "Namaste" in Bengali (Bengali of West Bengal because almost all Bangladeshis say Assalam Walikum). But, it's alright to use "Namaste" too. No offence to Hindi speakers.
Loves kolkata always. The city of joy. You get here nice delicious food, nice culture like RABINDRANATH TAGORE , nice shopping mall & nice chepest street shop, friendly atmosphere, higher level education, cheapest transportation & world famous politics.
India has huge variety of food . in every 50 km food changes . whenever you visit a restaurant ask for special Thali of that state you are in. in thali you will get most popular food items of that state. for example if you are in Chennai which is capital of Tamil Nadu State then ask for a Tamil thali. a thali can be both veg and non veg type you have to mention which one you want. this is how you can taste more food item at once . most flavourful food are in Kerala known for its beefs and fishes for veg Chennai is the place Hyderabad has the best non-veg items Kolkata is the sweet hub of not only India but the world for delicious snacks it is Ahmedabad Mumbai is the street food capital of India please visit North East India for best pork for Delhi Belly the city with the similar name is the place.

Michael and Giji, Kolkata will amaze you. However, you have chosen not the right time to visit because it is too hot now. However, see the tourist guide and make a Kolkata and neighborhood tour. Don't forget to see Eco Park, Victoria Memorial, Eden Garden and New town. You have come to the food and cultural capital of India and enjoy everything at an affordable price. Giji I saw you singing a Rabindra sangeet. Do that in presence of a local gathering and they will love it. This city has given to the world six Nobel Laureates (a rare feat in the world). Enjoy your trip but be careful with the traffic.
There are lot of places to explore in Kolkata...some of them are Victoria Memorial,Indian Museum,Zoological Gardens,Botanical Gardens,National Library,Eco Park(its a must) James Princep ghat and if possible take a cruise along the Hooghly river.❤❤❤

Every city in India has their own goodness but as a Kolkata local I can tell you it's a melting point of jews, armenian, Chinese, afghans and Indian's everyone has their Mark on this city. Btw not every building was built by British. Some are built by Jews of Kolkata..🙂 you can't compare kolkata with other cities. Kolkata has long history of independence struggle and take a significant role in India's freedom fight against British raj. The National Anthem of India is titled 'Jana Gana Mana'. The song was originally composed in Bengali by India's first Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Who was from this city and great Satyajit Ray was an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker, author, essayist, lyricist, magazine editor, illustrator, calligrapher, and music composer. Ray is widely considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time in world cinema also from Kolkata. We love arts and literature and football/soccer.⚽🥅 Mohun Bagan Athletic Club was founded on 15 August 1889 as Mohun Bagan Sporting Club and is one of the oldest and most historic football clubs in India. If you love football then it is the right place. It is called Mecca of Indian football.
May I ask you if the Armenians, Afghans, Marwari-Rajasthanis, and the few Punjabis there mix with local/ethnic Bengalis (as in mixed couples and mixed marriages)?
@@arijitbagchi1192 - Thank you for answering my question. So, a few Marwari and Punjabi Hindus mix with Bengali Hindus in West Bengal? Why don’t more mix?
It is not the ideal time to visit kolkata as it gets very hot and humid in summers....Even we natives don't get out that much in Summers because of the heat....the weather is very pleasant during November and December is best for visiting kolkata...
not only, kolkata, explore other parts of bengal also pls - Nadia, Murshidabad, Kochbihar, Soliguri, Darjeeling, Digha. 🤗 also try out the dada-boudi biriyani at Barrackpore.
During the British rule till 1911 Calcutta was the capital of India. By the latter half of the 19th century, shimla had become the summer capital. King George v announced the transfer of the capital from Calcutta to Delhi at the climax of the imperial court of 1911 on December 12, 1911.
I love Romanian Music particularly Valeriu Sterian, Transylvania Phoenix and Inna. I also love Romanian movies like God's Own Country, 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days and Revansa. Some great directors from Kolkata are the following 1) Satyajit Ray 2) Mrinal Sen 3) Ritwik Ghatak 4) Tapan Sinha 5) Aparna Sen
Rabindranath tagore was the first person in asia to win nobel prize and he wrote the national anthem of both India and Bangladesh. You guys should explore newtown kolkata. There you can enjoy science city, eco park , biswa bangla gate etc and you should visit victoria memorial and Howrah bridge also and don't forget to taste arsalan biryani. ❤️
Kolkata has its own authenticity. None will be upset after coming here. Go to Darjeeling (queen of hills) 😍 u will love it. I would like to thank u bcz u picturize kolkata in a different way. Love it. ♥️🙏
Felt like a very short video! But nice. Show us the colonial type traditional trams of Kolkata. specially broken black brick roads both sides of the track of the tram.
It’s only been two months since I had to move out for work. 😔😔. I’m proud of being a Bengali and proud of my city, the city of love. It hurts to see, how some wannabes forget their roots their culture so easily.
Kolkata is one of the largest city of India, it's called as the cultural capital of India & it's more bigger than the capital city of Bangladesh Dhaka.
@@rakibulalom8025 Dhaka is just not comparable with our other cities like Nagpur, Pune, Lukhnow,Kochi,Vijag & you talking about Delhi.what a joak.I think you working in a comedy show.
No doubt Kolkata now is the best in India, very amicable very hearty city old one is little congested because of its space and population but greater Kolkata is and new one are awesome. Last but not the least this is the food capital of the country
