Well, it depends on how you define what skill means. The way the concept is used in this video is very ambiguous. Dribbling the ball is a skill, but so it is passing, shooting and defending. Also, being a good leader, knowing the pace of the game and making good decisions are types of skills. So, if the video's question is "is Kyrie the most skill player ever at dribbling the ball", I would say yes, probably (not definitely, cause we don't have a way to measure such a thing). Besides, the fact that many players say that Kyrie is the most skilled doesn't make that claim true, cause those are only their opinions (opinions of people with knowledge on the matter, but opinions at the end of the day). Opinions can change depending on many factors, but, again, those are opinions based on an ambiguity, and would be better said if they define what they understand by skill.

... A list of skilled NBA players... In both sides... often we just stick on offense but defensive is not just one skill, stealing rebound, position... No order intended but... Here is a list of recent skilled as Kyrie... or even more ... Manu, Duncan, Khawi L, Luka, Jokic. In the past... MJ, Magic, Isaiah Thomas, Gary Payton, Stockton, MJ... The most skilled? We have to look any stats for a better idea who is ... And how to measure it.

I’ve watched ball for 45 years and I’d don’t put accolades at the top of the list but overall skill level, clutch ability, and leadership. I know these 3 don’t have numbers but we can see it. That’s why I have guys like MJ, Bird, Olajuwon and Kobe, and I would put Kyrie and Luka on the list too. Luka doesn’t have a lot of accolades yet but wow is he skilled and Mr. Clutch. I like guys who are fearless and want to take the last shot in playoff games. Those are leaders. The way Kyrie handles the ball, it’s artistic. I don’t care about athleticism or how high he can dunk. It’s his game and basketball IQ.

I played in the late 90’s If I palm the ball a bit long, or on side, a bit higher than my chest, a bit longer with hesitation, the refs will call travel, double dribble and carry. That’s the reason why 90’s football’s skills will look like Tim Hardaway at most with his 1-2 dribble crossovers.

I've always wondered how dominant certain players would be had they been more physically gifted, taller/stronger/faster, played on better teams, or avoided injury. Kobe was one example, as he felt like the epitome of skill meets work ethic, yet put him in Lebron's body, and I think he'd go down as the GOAT. Kyrie is another example. His skills are undeniable. He also manages to rack up a lot of points while also not going to the line a lot. Is that because he's not getting fouled? No, it's because he's smaller & so smooth, the refs don't notice the contact as much. He also doesn't feast off dunks like a lot of the larger, more athletic players. If he was 6'5, there would be entire highlight reels of just him posterizing people.

KOBE BRYANT is the most skillful player of all time MY PERSPECTIVE! People always tend to have recency bias. Kyrie had a phenomenal game winner with the left. However Kobe made a left handed three against the MAVS I make that statement to say similar plays have been done before. Kobe is the original, you could say Kyrie is the remix or new school now. Kobe was blessed with the skill and athletic ability. The defensive side is a skill too and Kobe had made plenty of defensive selections. It just seem with Kyrie we leave it at the offensive side. When we say ALL time skills Kobe checks your offensive and defensive boxes comparing the two guards.

I don't think much people would disagree with you on this,he is an extremely special basketball player...you have to triple team him mid court, incredibly skilled in my opinion.

The Kobe exemple is not well choosed if you talk about pure skill, we ve been told hundred times that Kobe worked like a madman to bridge the talent gap betwee him and Jordan, in term of pure skill he wasn t the best, but his knowledge and obesession for the game made him the best of his era
@MrE_
@MrE_ 4 месяца назад
Yea. But even with that gap, his hard work made him even more skilled than Jordan imo. Jordan was better overall, but Kobe's work ethic, pure skills, and IQ were better imo

You think Kyrie didn't work hard to learn his skill? They all have. They all put in time to get as good as they are. That's just some wives tale to try to create narrative.

Kobe himself said his only protege in the nba would have been Kyrie. If he was 6’6 we’d all be in trouble. Hes is the 6’1 Kobe so he’s a much better shooter because he’s must be.

You aren't born with skill, he is one of the most skilled players ever because of how hard he worked to develop it, you think Kyrie was born with handles like that? He's practiced obsessively.

No, skill is worked on. You are born with talent, but skill (eg. A fadeaway shot) is something that has to be repeated ad infinitum.

All i have to say is that if he is the most skilled player of all time, then why has he never won mvp or any other individual big accolades and why has he never been on and ALL NBA 1st TEAM??? 🤨🤨 edited: ok, he has won at least rookie of the year but that’s his only individual big accolade.

No doubt about it, is Kyrie Irving the most skilled NBA player of all time? When I first saw him during his rookie year in Cleveland, I was blown away. That season, he made three game-winning shots, including one against Boston. That’s when I knew he was special and different. You guys are late to the party-everyone in Cleveland already knew he was something special. And, the most skilled player, I watched him and LeBron practice in skill shots with left hand.

I'm going to say no . Because to say that it would mean defensively also . That would be Michael Jeffrey Jordan . The awe you spoke of while watching Kyrie is the same sentiment most people expressed about Jordan including his peers . Pretty much everything you're saying regarding Kyrie was said of Jordan except 3 point shooting , which we know he didn't choose to concentrate on ... didn't have to . Not once did you mention defense ... right ? Case closed !
