We know you have all been wondering... Is Lady bred?? We have been wondering too, but we finally have an answer!! Keep watching until the end of the video to find out! Today we are training Duke and preparing for sleigh rides at the same time! We are heading around the sleigh ride trail to make sure there are no limbs in the way.

Very happy to hear Lady is pregnant. Bree and the new fold will make a beautiful matched pair. If Ken knew, I’m sure he’d be thinking, “ not another one to train”😊😊😊 Ken will be remembered as having a real part in making Baron, Duke, Earl, Bree and the new foal into beautiful working horses.

My guess is yes, Lady is pregnant. I don’t think you would have had her checked unless you thought she probably is. Skip is a very cute dog. He is so lucky to be with Brenda, an animal lover extraordinaire. Duke seems to be fairly calm and a good student. 👍😊👍❤️

Duke was great on the trail. You’d never know he is green. As soon as you said Baron showed no interest in Lady, I knew she was bred. Congratulations Lady and Baron.

Yeah, she never returned to the stallion, and was joined at the optimum time. Foal heat at 9 days, not a time to breed, 3 weeks later and then every 3 wks they will cycle until bred. Bree was 1 month old.

@@donaldrath4415 Blood test said she is pregnant, I can see, she's carrying high and wide. Never heard of hay belly, not in a fit working horse. Grass is gone now so it ain't a grass belly.

Nice to see you folks out enjoying the weather and the horses. I waited 40 years to find someone and finally thought I had. 9 years later I'm back alone. Just got moved into my tiny shack this week, got some pictures and a little tree up doing what I can. No sleighing here yet, just rain really to this point. Have not had any inquiries for rides other than the rides in town for a local downtown business association, I think the financial situation here of a lot of people is going to put a damper on some folk's Christmas spending. Anyhow, lots of logging to do here also and plenty of work to keep me busy. Interesting how farms seem to migrate from one breed of horse to another over time! I started out with a Belgian team as my first team after working for someone else with Clydesdales for 5 years. Then I ended up needing another horse and bought a Percheron in foal from a friend, then she foaled, and then got another Percheron in payment for some hay, then my first old Belgian mare I ended up putting her down and then her mate caught the eye of a logger who happened to stop by for a visit, so that was my last Belgian, and been Percheron since. I choose them because they are so adaptable for me, farming, logging, carriage work, wagon rides in the city, single, multiple hitches, they seem so willing and friendly on the job with city traffic, crazy costumed people running around loud music, they just nod and smile and buckle down to their job. hauled over 400 passengers 2 weeks ago at night and half raining with kids running running right across in front of them, just plod along.

Snow makes it so quiet and peaceful. Thanks for taking us along on the ride. That pond will probably be froze over before you know it. Love little Skippy frolicking around in the snow. He looked like he was having the best time…so cute. I hope Abby gets a dog soon to keep her company when she moves into her awesome home she is renovating. I commented back in September with Bree’s foot trimming that I thought Lady was pregnant. Just had that look. But also noticed over that past couple months that Baron was not showing much interest in her. I am sure he would have been showing signs if she was coming into full heat again. That pup is bonded with Brenda. He did not like it when she jumped off the sled and kept his eyes on where she was at all times. Schipperkes are sometimes a one person dog and he looks very much like one. Happy that Lady is having another foal from Baron as he is an amazing example of his breed.

I did not post my thoughts in the beginning of the video when you said "post your thoughts" but I did think Lady was in foal. she looked it to me. great!News and today was also another great ride out to the cabin and thru the woods/trail and I agree sometimes when you 're on those rides it's just nice to be quiet and take it all in. So, Laura Ingalls Wilder related question: do you get wintergreen berries in your woods? She talked about wintergreen berries growing on their farm, and since it isn't far from you, that made me wonder if you get them. I'm glad Lady is in foal. I figured Bree might be a bit hard to match being a crossbred, so it is good to know that you'll have another of the same breeding. The more I see of your Suffolks, the more impressed I am with them. It is good to see their genes being spread, although I'd really like to see purebreds to preserve the breed. You've created a monster in my daughter. She is suddenly full blown in love with Suffolks and has been doing a lot of research online. She keeps bringing me pictures of horses wanting to know what I think of them. She kept bringing me pictures of one horse, asking what I thought of him. I told her he is really nice, but not as nice as Baron. Baron has better overall balance between his front end and hind end, and a better overall hindquarter, in my opinion. Turns out, the horse is Baron's grandsire. I guess it goes to prove what I've said for years: if you choose your matings well, you can produce foals that are better quality than either parent. If you assess the overall strengths and weaknesses of your mare, honestly and without prejudice because she's your mare, then you can pick a stallion that is strong wherever your mare is weak, and with God's blessing, if the strengths are dominant, you can end up with a foal that has the strengths of both parents.

By the way, my little Mountain Saddle horse mare would come into standing heat while she was in foal. Her foal was born near the due date of her first cover, but she stood to be covered three cycles after that first breeding. I don't know why, she just did. But she produced two healthy foals in her life. Her daughter, on the other hand, had cystic ovaries and she never settled.

For what it's worth, yes I think Lady is pregnant.. It seems like her belly is a little fuller than usual. I hope she is because Barron won't be fathering anymore little baby horses in his future... God love all your horses, you train them well, even your puppy dog. Love your channel and watch it every day or two.
