Please, nothing to do with Céline Dion, she is great, but Lara is in an other league, lyric soprano, writes her songs, plays piano and is a performer, different artist, my opinion...
Lara's voice has a richness and a quality that Celine just doesn't have. Celine is a powerful singer but not as flexible or as controlled in every register. There are many Celine fans who will argue this, but there is another aspect to an artists impact and that is personality. Celine is not gracious, humble, or empathetic. She doesn't embody the words she sings and her team ack in the day was instrumental in blocking Lara's success in America. Lots of jealousy there. When it comes to great singers, Celine is certainly in the top tier, but Lara is more than a singer. She is a composer, pianist, actress, and great beauty. All that...and a masterful performer and storyteller. She really is in a tier of her own. To compare her to anyone is to not understand her uniqueness.
