I’ve read (and seem to remember the presenter explaining this) that the Question Time audience is selected based on their political views and allegiances. Those chosen from the applicants to attend are based proportionally on the voting trends of the last general election held in 2019 when Johnson swept the board, albeit with some very small majorities in many seats. Maybe this is why the QT audience appears so crazily right wing sometimes? Basing the selection of the audience on a poll taken 4-5 years ago is flawed. Perhaps an average of current opinion polls should be added to the mix?

Actually, they used to be on _her_ payroll - in the early days when donations over £4,999 had to be recorded, her name was on the list. She was also known to be a Conservative Party member. I agree. J.O.B. is a national treasure. Andrew Marr definitely has more left wing sympathies (as evidenced by his good work on LBC and the New Statesman recently) but when the Sunday morning political show on the BBC was his, he steered a very fair and even course, holding Labour and Conservative politicians to account with equal vigour. Laura Kuenssberg definitely fails to appear equitable and even handed.

Not use nukes but it didn't have to actually be said), he supported Hamas and didn't investigate bullying of Jewish people in the party. He scared off many of the people who should be voting for him. Britain is a very conservative country and the working classes are very patriotic (many still want Maggie back ffs,) so Murdoch and co easily marginalised him and would do it again to Starmer if they could - if he let them as so many on the left would like. Sadly Jeremy's legacy is the virtual destruction of the Left as a political force in Britain. Sunaks main attack line on Starmer is still 'he supported Corbyn' and it works...... I supported most of his policies but the public couldn't see beyond the tabloid crap...... and still can't. Look how the mugs were conned into Brexit. Sadly many on the left just have to shoot their mouths off about every issue even though it almost guarantees that they will never get into No10. If they do get into power this time it will be because Starmer made the party electable again. Britain is a right wing conservative country and if you want to win elections now you have to play to that, not just shout tired slogans from the Marxist or Hamas playbook.

​​@@pauls9189your final point is not borne out by the data (I'm going to ignore the fatuous reference to Hamas). The UK is a centre left country overall. The Tories only ever win because of First Past The Post. They haven't won a real majority in decades (perhaps Thatcher?). All the rest is purely based on first past the post. If we had a system which counted every vote you'd have way more lib Dems and greens in seats, probably more Reform and UKIP but still not enough to form a significant majority with the Tories. The other three parties would reliably win out over them in various combinations.
