If I had to sum this game up in one word it would be "unrelenting". Never before have I felt a game so insistent on attacking me as a player. Beating this game may be my proudest accomplishment in gaming and there truly isn't anything quite like it. If I could pick one game to have purged from my memory so I can relive the experience of playing it blind it would be this one. To anyone who is struggling I have 2 pieces of advice. 1. Elevator rooms are OP. 2. Abuse the weekly memory repository.

Thanks for backing up my impression. I really feel like this game is a very special experience. I really love ProjectMoon as a game dev studio. Even if they hurt me.

This game is tedious. From a pure gameplay standpoint, it's an extremely hardcore and unforgiving game with tons of repetition while requiring awful lot of blind guesses. However, Project Moon managed to turn this experience into one unlike any other with their high quality writing and explaination to every little detail. There is a reason why everything gets so difficult and it's tightly tied to the plot. The satiafaction is not just overcoming a hard challenge. The story on itself is excellent enough, but it has to be combined with the gameplay to reach its peak. It's not meant to be fun. It's meant to engage you in the story, put you really in the shoes of the manager and the obstacles he needed to face, and it did so fabulously. IMO, Lob Corp. is either the best example of implementing gameplay as a way of storytelling, or the worst, most tedious simulation game ever. For me, it's the former.

Hey Ic0n, take a look at "All in the game" during Next Fest (the demo is on steam, but will be updated before Next Fest), it's a take on turn based gang management/criminal empire building. It's a gem, could do with some attention and hopefully is up your alley. :)

Great timing, I was just looking at this on steam yesterday! usually I do not fear hard or complex games, but from the reviews this sounds a bit too unforgiving and frustrating. Your video kind of confirmed that :) Maybe on a sale I will decide to suffer, but not yet....

Loving this game so far but my main complaint with it is the tiny text size, I get real eye strain trying to read it and there seems to be no way to increase the font size.

Damn, that's a very legit complaint. And I'm sad that I cannot really offer any solution.

There's a reason this game is compared to the Sysaphis's punishment. ESPECIALLY the later days good god.

Did you mean to time this with the steam sale? If not then great timing. I was looking for more info on this game before buying it, and only just noticed after taking most of the day to watch this video (Life distractions nothing wrong with the vid), and then buying and playing the game, and finally watching the last few minutes of this video, that the video was still only hours old 😅. The game really seems like a work of love, I have yet to get to the brutal parts, but I already feel so out of my depth.

I actually dusted it off my library cause my old tutorial has getting tons of clicks lately and then I felt like making the review while the game was still on sale, yeah ^^ And part of the game experience is that you have to learn everything from scratch. The game has almost no mechanics I could fully compare to other games. The damage types are a very important part of the metagame, the employee stats as well (you need good AND bad people for some creatures, "too high stats everywhere" can also be a problem) and between that you need to get into all the micromanagement of all those darned creatures. This game makes you feel like your job is real. Too real :D

I struggled to get into this one, found it baffling:) i wanted to get into it cause its unusual, and i like the aesthetic

It's an amazing game. And yeah, it has quite a steep learning curve initially. And it keeps on challenging you constantly. There's basically no "I learned the game and finish it now" point. There's always a new "how the hell am I supposed to handle this?" around the next corner ^^

Sounds interesting! So do you get punished for failing a run? I usually love grindy games and I just bought it on steam because it's on sale (-70%). ^^
@Ic0nGaming
@Ic0nGaming Месяц назад
The only punishment is that you have to start all over again. You keep all your metacurrency, gear and knowledge about the Abnormalities. You do lose gear though again if the employee wearing it dies and you finish the day with him as casualty.
@stellarischloride7522
@stellarischloride7522 Месяц назад
However, you can recover any gear lost from casualties by rewinding to memory repository before the next imprint day iirc while keeping any new gear you gained (unless it's lost to a certain tool abnormality, in which case it's lost forever).

Glad to hear that! Just be careful, this game is truly wicked :D And awesome, but it really wants to make it as hard as possible for you.

It is hardcore, unforgiving, a lot of trial and error, and some combination of Abnormality can be MUCH harder than intended like Queen of Hatred who need at least 3 People killed before each Qliphot Meltdown(Can be Clerks) which on theory sounds easy if you have execution bullets unlocked, but when paired with Big Bird or Mountain of Smiling Bodies who *REALLY* does not like people dying, yeah its rough -Also please skip Alriune and Train to hell entirely unless you want 100% Seed of Light ending- However despite all that is it rewarding? Yes, the game pretty much became too realistic on becoming a ruthless manager of a company
