My name is Ic0n and this is my gaming channel. I create playthroughs, game reviews, tutorials and Let's Play series and other videos related to gaming on my portal. My big favorites are Sandbox Games, Tactical Games and Roguelikes. But I generally love gaming!
I've never watched any of your videos before, but when you said REview, I immediately thought that you're probably a fellow German. Apart from that, I probably wouldn't have been able to tell.
Hello I'm unable to drag the actions using the mouse on a consistent basis does this game have an option to just click the actions so they go in the queue or is it drag only Ty
New to this game, loving it! Your videos have been so helpful for me getting into it, and this might be my favorite build ive tried. Aesthetically very satisfying, its fast and warrish, it can build tall or wide, and its of course great at its economy and research. Thanks for your great videos!
One weird aspect - lizards still get a resolve boost from being in a temple, but they no longer get a resolve boost from religion (and they never got one from education).
So far so good. I've played over 1000 hours of the base game, it's been my "mental health safe space" since the day it came out. I am loving the DLC and if you enjoy the base game, then it is well worth the money
Wait….. the one thing I can’t figure out is the one thing not in the video 😆 how do we make trade agreements with other factions? I’ve tried everything and the accept button won’t even highlight 😑
I dont like the fuell mechanica.. and never have the feeling of that overpowered like other roguelikes has.. the only good thing about this is how it looks.. 3/10 for me
Great vid! 8:37 You can put a smart splitter just before the storage of the plastic and rubber and set the overflow to go to a Sink, so they never will backout
I know this is probably more work than you want to bother investing in... but if you wind up with another krundle overflow, you can sometimes throw some nest boxes in and pasture them, and wind up with bunches of eggs for food. Dump them in from a pit above and you probably don't even need to train them!
@Ic0nGaming You are not dumb. It's old, uncommon, and very different from the modern spelling. I think that very few people would guess that gaol and jail are the same word.
@@LupeFenrir I mostly felt dumb cause it looked so damn obvious how to pronounce it once I knew it. It kinda makes sense and that made me laugh a bit ^^ I love language, that's why I also like this game so much. It teaches me also a lot of new english words which is always a pleasure.
Finally RU-vid has brought one of your videos to my feed! I'm currently playing frostpunk 2 but I'll buy the dlc as I want to support hooded horse and eremite, even if the dlc might not be amazing
Oh hi there, long time no see! Happy to have you again on the comment section o/ And Frostpunk 2 is also on my to-do list, there's just so much stuff to cover these days. But 11bit don't need my promotion as badly as Hooded Horse ;) And btw, the DLC is by no means bad.
Thanks for the review and analysis. I've been looking forward to Breachway after the demo. Steam is having a Hooded Horse sale offering a good discount on the game - I picked it up last night and played through some early nodes. Maybe this is already in the game, but for replayability, I hope there is a Sandbox mode to play on randomly generated maps.
"Just use Steam's 2 hour refund window" - or alternatively, buy on a storefront that *hasn't* been known to be causing harm to users for almost 5 years, because GOG and Epic both have better refund policies than Steam's (and are less likely than Valve to try and enforce their policies on people whose countries make doing so illegal). You might want to consider adding those links into the description too, btw, making sure it's easy for your audience to find the game on platforms they can actually use is a nice bonus.
Nah, if you get rubbed off by this I might actually rather drop all of the links. Or you just choose the refund model of your liking. My channel is about games, not capitalism criticism I'm sorry. And I have been pissed off by ALL of the three major stores on some degree ;)
@@Ic0nGaming That's fair. That said, if it's a choice between only sharing a link to a site that's been known to be a literal health risk for 5 years, and not providing any links, my vote's on getting rid of the link to Steam. Got to agree on none of them actually being good, though. It really is a matter of picking the least awful option at this stage -_-
A break from the game is really necessary with a game like this. I usually feel the monotony after finishing 2 or 3 seals, but it always feels fresh once you com back to it.
I'm trying to record my own game of DF but it's not as easy as you make it. The recording of the game I mean, tho the game is a fun struggle at times. your recording and talking is easy and well done. Joined your discord too. Keep up the good work mate
I just purchased the DLC and soundtrack. At least now I can listen to the music while I work and pretend that my work is that of the librarian, instead of the drudgery that is my life. :) Very well done video here, Icon. As usual, you gave your take, explanation and thoughts in your easy to understand and entertaining format.
A lot of the people are defending the graphics in the comments. I don't think they're ugly because they're not 4k ultra hd raytracing. I think they're ugly because the art stile is ugly and boring.
Well I keep saying it: I play games that have lackluster graphics all day. But if the graphics feel lazy, uninspired and as if they don't even mesh into the game at all even I am disappointed. That combat animation just killed me, no use denying it.
Having put a few hours into it, I'm not a huge fan of the cloak change. It's ok in biomes where you can get resin, but on a fresh save without harpy houses harpies become a real hassle in the wrong biomes. I've also been struggling with boots, they just seem to take forever to craft and I can never keep up.
This game makes me feel insane when I explain to my friend how excited I am that clean linens can heal my maladies and that the biggest feature of the DLC is hosting dinner parties
That you for the tips! I really needed some guidance. I bounced off the game going in blind, but the premise of the game is awesome so I want to play it. I know I'll like it if I get into it.
Thanks a bunch for this review Ic0n, very well made! I had to laugh, because your wholehearted enthusiasm when describing the game and its DLC sounds "exactly" like I sounded when I told my best friend about it, haha.
Trucks do carry a lot of items. Before you get a Mk3 or Mk4 belt down, the truck should usually beat the transport speed of the belt. Besides that it's also just a matter of taste. I bet you could beat the entire game without using a single Truck or Train whatsoever. It's a sandbox factory game after all. But trucks have one big advantage over other vehicles: They are relatively free to seek their path. You can even re-write their driving script without needing to build too much infrastructure. Roads obviously help, but they are not a must have, like Rails for a Train would be a must have. Hope this helps to give you an idea or two how to use trucks =)
So: Lizards have abandoned their Faith for Boots. Harpies have switched to a gluten-free diet of Paste and Jerky. And they also want new Boots. Foxes have stopped their wicked ways of drunken debauchery, and found their peace of mind in the Sacred Flame. And new Boots.
