I've been to Bali and Lombok several times now. Lombok is more unspoilt than Bali is. Bali is definitely more touristy. But I do like that Bali feels a loooot more free spirited and open minded. Also, as a Westerner Bali feels more familiar because they have a lot of the amenities that we're used to. But if you want to see nature in it's pure form I'd suggest Lombok. I've also been to those waterfalls btw, it was SO beautiful! And a really fun hike (except for the part where you have to cross the stream/river).

The answer to the question is....YES!!! I have been to both Bali and Lombok, and I thought Bali was OK but too crowded and too many motorcyclists but I found Lombok much more nicer and better islands off the main islands

I love Lombok. It is still rather unspoiled. I still long for the Bali I first saw 20 years ago......makes me sad to think about.

The nose PCR test doesn’t hurt, it’s just uncomfortable and annoying to have a stick poked up your nose. With my job we have to get tested all the time: whenever we have to fly or go to another fire station, whenever someone from out office feels sick or has minor symptoms. It’s no joy, but just to let others know, it doesn’t hurt, it’s just uncomfortable and annoying.

For tourism Bali is the best, But for scenary Lombok is more beautiful,

With the pandemic happening I don’t think it’s good to negotiate to try and bring the price down. This is their living and don’t make much money to begin with. You can afford to pay $12-$15 USD per person for a tour of 2-3 hours of their time.

I stopped going to Bali long ago because overdevelopment and commercialization have tipped the balance on the island between nature and people the wrong way, and the island's idyllic qualities have mostly disappeared. If the same thing happens to Lombok I won't be going there again either. There are still some unspoiled tropical islands. I won't make any you tube films about them.

its probably copying Bali. What makes Bali really special is the Balinese culture. The art and the architecture. Plus the customs and tradition. Because there rice fields and coconut trees everywhere else. But no doubt Lombok is also pretty. I have not been to Lombok.
