I'm going to wait for the upgrade to raytracing 1.0 in Lumion to take a decision. I'll stand with 12.5 for now. On the other hand, I´m practising with Twinmotion 2023 and Unreal 5.1. I have to take a look to D5 render, I've seen exciting things about this software!
That is not a bad idea! I personally like using Twinmotion and have done some videos on it. But I just download D5 so I plan on doing a video on that soon!
they are comparing a rendered model from the earlier version that doesn't have the right settings on. Notice the shadows and reflections effects aren't optimized, of course it looks a lot better but try comparing a properly rendered image with the shadows, global illumination and reflections properly tweaked, this would be a less bias comparison.
@@thearchitecturegrindThink about your future because AI will soon replace you as in banking and other industries.Know that there is nothing to get excited about which program is better, only what will I do, time is running out.
You can't go wrong with either. Lumion has a better selection of trees and plants, but both are realistic, it just depends on how close they are shown in the render.
@@thearchitecturegrind in my perspective lumion is still useful for exterior only projects, but D5 is better in both specially interiors. the only thing better in Lumion is the grass, grass in the D5 the optimization is not good at all (i have a 3080), so as long as the project is not huge in terms of vegetation D5 is better option for exteriors, for something else bigger like urban projects i would say lumion.
lumion just add Ray Tracing but other softw have it since few years... Lumion is good but the development goes slowly... Like one year late on over software
Yes you are correct, Twinmotion also adding path tracing 1-2 years ago. Lumion is also one of the most expensive programs so they need to step it up to make the price point worth it.
In my opinion, Twinmotion 2023.1 gives out a much more realistic output than Lumion 2023. The lighting and contact shadow in lumion 2023 isn't just right YET.
No, not a chance! Why? Price, floating windows, confused UI, low quality 3D space to work and that raytrace takes too long to render a preview compared to TM's pathtracer! Twinmotion and D5 render are much more powerful and beautiful!
@@thearchitecturegrind Yeah, indeed! Lumion went from hero to zero by not listening to customers! I have being asking for a custom output image and video for over a decade...and they just released now, ten years later, no thanks! Those prices are abusive and they are way behind TM, Enscape and D5. Let them (LUMION) fight to survive now!
What features make you this confident about Lumion 2023? Or what would you say to someone who is skeptical? I have received a lot of comments saying Lumion 2023 is not worth it.
@@thearchitecturegrind PBR materials, RT, Improved Raster. Ive already logged over 50 hrs working with the program. Love it!!! If its not for you go use something else or make your own program. What no one ever mentions is high quality support. Just email them and they help with whatever.
@@thearchitecturegrind Yes , if you look at the competition like D5 render its not the same method of paying but for $360 a year and you got everything its not bad, and you got Twinmotion that free and you can get or use a bunch of stuff for free from sketchfab and megascan etc etc , so yea pricing is a big reason, Lumion is great software but now there is allot of option out there , my choice for me is neither of them , I will go to Unreal engine and done , if Twinmotion had Lumen and Nanite in the future I will use it more, man I wish Encape come to 3dsmax
