Hello and welcome to my channel.
My name is Martin, by the way.
EDIT I know I know, it's the Czech Republic, not Czechoslovakia. Apologies to all Czechs and Slovakians.
Over the last year or so, I've been using @Mapy.cz as my go to hiking app. Unlike other hiking apps, this is completely free to use, including downloading the maps you want. Using this offline is exceptionally good and is VERY user friendly. Why pay for a hiking app when this gives you all they give you for free!? I urge you to check this app out (no I'm not being sponsored, i just like to promote things that I use myself and that I trust)

I also like Mapy, especially the maps. It is also possible to import GPX files. The drawback is that it is not possible to perform routing based on imported GPX data.

Yes it really is great. Now I know how to use it better, I will soon make a new video about it, because for a free app, it's absolutely fantastic and is very intuitive. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂

I would like to import a gpx file on my ipad. The command choices do not seem to include a "Tools" choice. I have the current version. What am I missing?

@@aboversite i just go to 'my maps' import gpx, choose the file. Done 🙂

Looks great, very simple map, and is somewhat intuitive. I've tried to register 4 times and couldn't get recognized. Perhaps my registration needs approval and Prague is far away from the US. Maybe it will show up tomorrow.

Hi. I don't quite remember how I set it up but I think it was just a case of registering my email and that was it. Hope you sorted it out as it really is a great tool. Maybe try registering online rather through the app? Thats how I did it, I believe. God luck 😀

@@kmtischer Yes I simply closed the program and in a few minutes opened it up. When I made a new account then I could call. Apparently I was trying the call without registering. Works fine now.

I looked up the Lone Star Hiking Trail, but, only half of it shows. Isthere any way to show both halves?

Well I'm in Spain so not sure how long it's mes to be but when I search it, it's over 8000kms and it's from near Cleveland to Huntsville. Hope this helps

This seems liks such a stupid question but where is the navigate button? I can plan routes but cant start them

Hi. Once you have planned and saved your route. Go to 'my maps' open up the route and navigate is on the bottom right. You need to save and name your route first, then open it to navigate it. Hope this helps.
