Glad that you’re back. It amazes me that the man is only 24 and he has eight seasons of F1 under his belt time flies that fast. You can see Max has become less desperate since winning the championship and I also think he’s very cautious given the fact that he has quite a lot of penalty points but nonetheless I think this season he’s on stoppable but I don’t think he’s unbeatable hopefully over the next few races we do get to see more of a challenge from Charles. Oh keep up the good content 💪🏾.

Thanks Emmanuel. Yes I totally agree. The sky is the limit for Verstappen as he’s only going to keep improving. Hopefully a team like Mercedes can get their act together to make it a three-way fight for a few races - not necessarily the title as I think Max and Red Bull are too strong over the course of the season :)

Although for me he is already one of the greatest to ever sit in a racecar, him breaking Lewis' records would probably mean years of total RB dominance which would suck for the sport

I don't think Max needs a dominant car to win a few more world titles. But only a competitive car. I think Russell will be his main competitor the next few years. He's doing an excellent job and is unbelievable focussed.

For sure. I can’t see Red Bull completely dominating under these cost cap regulations, but I certainly see them remaining towards the sharp end of the field. Hopefully, when the likes of Russell and Leclerc can be there to challenge more often

Verstappen is basically Lewis but without holding back on crossing the line. Lewis would go right up to the line, but never cross it. Only example I have to counter myself, I thought the fight into T1 with Nico, 2015 USA. He has the definte greatness. Malaysia 2017, Austria 2019... Two races that actually shook me up... This is a driver of unreal talent. It's even clear in simracing, which is INSANELY difficult if you're not a lifer or 13yr old alien. I really wished max would be the only driver to take Lewis torch. So crushed as a fan how it happened.

It's gonna be very difficult for max and redbull to do the same what Mercedes and Hamilton did over the years, plus there is a formidable competition for him, Hamilton, Russell, Lando and the Ferrari boys won't yeild in the right machinery, for now Perez has been the best teammate for Max but can't say the same for long term, there might be a rivalry amongst the redbulls
@BMPHF1
@BMPHF1 2 года назад
Definitely. There isn’t much of an intrateam rivalry within Red Bull at the moment, however, Perez has proved he’s capable of beating Verstappen on the right weekend. As you mentioned, this is one of the most talented fields we’ve seen in a long time, so in competitive (and reliable) machinery, the likes of Hamilton, Russell, Leclerc, Norris and Sainz can take the fight to him

I don't see Leclerc being on Max's level. Maybe later, but not this season. If RedBull gives Max an equal, or near equal car to the Ferrari I don't see him being beaten. If, however, he gets a better car... God help Leclerc...

The Ferrari is definitely faster over 1 lap. In most cases, that means they have the faster car overall - but not here. Red Bull’s car is a lot more race-suited than the Ferrari. But I understand what you’re saying. At the moment, Verstappen has the edge over Leclerc. But we’ve only really seen them go head-to-head properly a total of 4 times - Bahrain, Jeddah, Imola sprint and Miami so 3-1 in Max’s favour.

Max is driving even better, more mature, more dominant, just as aggressive, as last year…the kid is only improving (and he’s amazingly still a kid…just 24). What is MOST impressive is that now that Checo and Ferrari have ALL got 2 Mechanical DNFs now, they are all equalized with Max for mechanical DNFs…and now we can REALLY SEE HOW DOMINANT MAX IS DRIVING. Not even half way and Max is pulling away from the grid.
@diegovillavicencio3172
@diegovillavicencio3172 2 года назад
Makes no sense to compare the DNFs Between Verstappen and Leclerc because the 2 times Leclerc retired, he was leading, while the 2 times Verstappen retired, Leclerc was still leading. Not to mention the clowns at Ferrari ruining Leclerc's strategy, specially in Monaco when it was an easy victory and he ended up outside the podium instead, gifting yet more points to Verstappen

Let’s just wait and see. He definitely has the capability to do it but Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton still have better stats than Max. In my personal opinion Ayrton Senna is the greatest driver to drive a F1 car. If you ask most F1 driver’s past and present including Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton they will tell you the exact same thing. He was phenomenal.

Max will be unstoppable if Red bull continue to be ahead of the rest of the grid in terms of developing the most competitive car in light of the new regulations. He is clearly by no means unbeatable, as Charles Leclerc has proved. Had it not been for Ferrari's unreliability and poor strategy calls, it would be a lot closer right now and therefore better value for money from the point of view of the F1 fan. Again, the debate about the best car begins to resurface, but this time, the car is miles better than its competition and its therefore "no competition." If the status quo remains as is, then yes, Max is unstoppable: but by no means unbeatable if the other teams wake up development-wise and show up to the party. Great video as always Ben. Great to see you back.

@@G.u74 I wouldn't quite put it that way. The Red Bull is better in race trim than the Ferrari. Ferrari have also had a lot of unreliability and have made some atrocious strategy calls that have worked in Red Bull's favour. If the two were given equipment that is closer in performance, we would see a lot more close racing between the two.

There is still so much that can happen... but I really enjoy the fights, that are indeed a lot cleaner that they were last year.... Is Max unstoppable? No. But I do think he has learned a great deal, matured a bit, I'd say. I hope it's going to be an exciting season, but you can't beat the fingernail biting everybody did during last season's finale. That was epic.
@MM_2000IT
@MM_2000IT 2 года назад
Max is incredible, but i don’t agree with the fact that 2022 Max is better than last year. I think last year Max pace was on another level, quali in particular rather than this year. RedBull was not the strongest all season as many say, Mercedes was on a very similar level all year, with circuits suited for one and others suited for the other team (without talking about last 4 races were Mercedes race pace was on another category than RedBull). Max last year has been simply the perfect driver, always scoring the maximum he can with the pace given to him. With a dominant car, he dominated (2 austria, Mexico, baku), where Mercedes was similar pace he made the difference (france, monaco, spa, zandvoort, austin) and when Mercedes was far better he came always in second position. This year has been pretty different for me. Of 6 wins, 2 Leclerc dnfd as a leader, saudi arabia Checo was unlucky with safety car. So for me now Max is in the lead, and he’s dominating races, but his pace with new car has a lot of potential in my opinion, and race after race he surely will become even more quick, quali in particular.
@madjayax731
@madjayax731 2 года назад
You don't get your raw pace improved having competing from any junior career to the top echelon of any Motorsport. However, you definitely would rack some experiences. Experiences wouldn't get you any faster in term raw pace. It would certainly help you to yield more and more from your absolute potential. Rosberg raw pace is on par with Hamilton, hence why Rosberg managed to qualified 47% ahead of Hamilton in their Merc teammate battle 2013-2016. This trend follows from where there are back competing in their carting time. Hamilton always has the edge over Rosberg in term of race management, adaptability, and consistency.
