Is Mercy Still BAD In Season 10? 😭 - Overwatch 2 

The mercy haters kill me. She's the reason you lose if she's on your team and also the reason you lose if she's on the enemy team. Makes sense

people seem to forget the mercy is bad because the entire game changed after season 9. the season 9 patch nerfed everything about mercy’s kit directly and indirectly. Her ult charge rate, her damage boost uptime, her healing, her survivability, her resurrect, her self healing, damage boost break points, literally everything about mercy was nerfed because of the season 9 patch despite some buffs to ga and sympathetic recovery. those buffs were insignificant when you realize how the rest of her kit was nerfed.

mercy is one of the most popular characters.. its wild to me that they would let her be bad while releasing her mythic.. youd think theyd buff her so more people would buy it like riot does with lux

I feel the part about the favorite hero! I was playing mercy in a very unconventional comp on Rialto - dps were venture widow, our tank was hog. I pocketed widow/hog and figured if this doesn't work I'll switch. We steam rolled the team - we almost full held til the last 30 seconds of push, then they made the first point and my kiri immediately started complaining asking me to switch. I just ignored them, we held a good second point and they didn't even get close to finishing it, then they asked me "So are you a on trick or what?? Why won't you switch???" and I was like no, I play basically all supps, I'm just playing the character I have the most fun on... If it stops working I'll switch, we aren't losing right now. Our venture jumped in and told the kiri who cares, we all play to have fun they can play who they want. We ended up winning (It took us like 2 mins to push the payload from first point to end - like we were steam rolling other team). The kiri didn't have anything to say then lol. People just love to try to dictate what others are playing

i wish mercy had a lingering heal effect like moira, because it would give more opportunity to flick damage boost

I sympathize with your assertion that mercy is so often criticized for making a single mistake at a crucial point in the fight; and I commend you for persevering when the decisions you make come under scrutiny and unnecessary pressure. I don’t have much experience playing mercy, mostly because of the two reasons I mentioned before, and also in particular because I think you have to be very confident regarding the correct choices you make, while reducing your exposure to risk - and lastly be conscious enough about your team’s strengths and apparent weaknesses. It’s very relaxing to watch your gameplay as you are able to handle all these demands and still remain hopeful and optimistic. I sometimes watch your gameplay when I’m working or studying, or when I’m feeling tired or stressed. All of your videos are calming, informative and they provide a much needed respite from life’s mundane problems… and even gaming stresses.

I’ve found Mercy is kind of about target priority; it’s come to the point where I have to predict which teammate is going to need my help. Example; I see a Reaper going for an ult without telling the team, I calculate what to do in case they do ult, how can I revive if needed, etc… Basically, babysit.

It's funny how Ms. Mythic Skin is still C-Tier this season.

i love your videos !! it’s always so calming to watch and my gameplay is a lot more fast paced. i keep my sens up really high when playing mercy😭

personally i think mercy is struggling but she’s not unplayable. i’ve been having a lot of great games with her and have turned a lot of games around choosing to keep her instead of switching. (no one has told me to switch it’s me contemplating if switching is a good idea.) so far this season i’ve had only one rude person thankfully, another mercy main who didn’t know how to play other characters, they had extremely low healing while playing high heal characters, constantly in the enemy backline even as lifeweaver who has no reason to be in their backline. if they would’ve asked nicely i would’ve switched so they could have mercy, i know how to play other characters properly but they didn’t even ask and by the time i finally died (i only died once) the game was already over so i couldn’t switch. then they said L mercy and called me a pendeja. other than that i’ve had really nice teammates and good games. keep up the good work zhau, having fun is most important. :)

11:45 when the team is asking for a kiri, i don't see the illari being a team player and picking the more meta support over their own ejoyment of the game. Like, if you are gonna complain and be passive agressive about non meta picks then make it make sense and play them yourself 😪

Honestly I love how they didn’t fix the issues of last season for example tracer and roadhog, tracer being able to be almost unkillable and hitting every shot cuz of the projectile size increase also roadhog one shoting u regardless if he had his trap down also the 50% damage reduction on a 1 sec cooldown

She cannot be bad for much longer, she is been always viable and one of the most popular heroes. I honestly think she should have 60 hps back and 70 on Valkyrie. OR ultimate charge should be higher so she can valk (with 70 hps) more frequently

Yeah she's easily the second worst support after Lifeweaver at the moment. Just too much work to achieve what other supports can do much easier

Something similar happened to me.. I was playing with a Moira and they first told me to play Mercy simulator? then we were doing good the whole game but lost because of a damage diff so they told me to unalive myself :-)

I think it feels the same as season 9. She seriously needs some love

these are my ideas for mercy: make her ga like s2 for smooth. increase dmg boost to 27.5% because the 5% decrease was a 16.6% nerf which impact mercy players a lottt. before i would ususally get 2k dmg amp, now in qp, 1k is lucky for me. 30% was a bit op though. allow mercy to dmg boost and heal at the same but both will be at 40% effectiveness. when her beam is out of range not break los, increase the duration of it being attach to like 2 second or something so she can help divers more. add back her s3 triage healing but 50% weaker. the lower the max hp of an ally she rez, the lesser the cooldown is,. when using valk, the dmg boost and healing will be buff a bit. these are just ideas in my head

I feel less control playing Mercy right now x) Like the only way to win as Mercy for me is having a really good teammates. So I'm just focused on playing Mercy, cause she's my main and don't overthink about her state right now. I wish I could have more impact, but it is what it is now

hi zhau! i've been watching you since 2020 and have managed to improve my movement just from watching your videos. i've found myself stuck in high diamond to low masters and i really need some tips on how i can do better while still playing mercy since if i end up playing mercy, i have to swap after a bit since teammates complain abt low heals and what not. is my movement the issue? is it my team? what can i do better to move up in ranks ? : (

Every since they nerfed her healing which I can totally understand it just feels so much worst because pretty much when healing it feels slow and on top of that when it comes to tanks it’s hard to damage boast them while mostly healing them and the healing is super bad but I still play as her

The Mercy mythic is so cool looking, probably my favorite so far. Also I liked your mindset and approach to that tilted Illari in the first game.

In game 1 you are a bit quick to flick to heal beam as soon as a teammate takes a chip of damage. You should be prioritizing blue way more. But maybe bc it was an illari as second supp that you felt you needed to compensate for her lack of healing

i wonder how her future will look like with the new dps passive. i would love some changes to make her more of a team healer and utility support

She's certainly a struggle to play these days but not unplayable by all means. You just have to keep moving and stay alive to generate value - which you very much excel at. I've managed to turn around several games with well-time resurrects and healing priority, but my pet peeve is that she more often than not, benefits a lot more from a pocket healer playstyle than widespread healers like Baptist, Moira, and other AoE healers who can practically keep the whole team alive on their lonesome provided the team doesn't int. -.- I dunno, it could just be me. How has the Mercy experience been for you guys? I've been hardstuck gold 1 since season 9 and still no different now. XD And it's more often than due to my teammate's wrong positioning. Edit: And NO, it is not bad at all that you want to play your favorite hero, by all means play them. Just, don't make competitive matches your practice grounds and use a hero you barely know how to use. You can be a one-trick pony all you like but please, from a Mercy main, all I'm asking of you is to hit your shots and make them count and I'll gladly amp you up.

When playing Mercy she's at this weird "in the hands of her team" phase again. She's great against bad players, but useless against good players. She's not in her strongest spot, but not the weakest. She's just not entirely reliable. I def try to make her work when I can, but most the time i've been playing Illari and Moira. I feel like her abilities overall are fine, although she needs some type of movement adjustment to GA. It's always GA causing an issue so what's new lol!

Ive been waiting for a season pass centered around mercy and they finally release one but its while im not playing her at all because of how weak she feels 😭

a nice buff would be letting her dmg amp projectiles after they've already been thrown (like she used to do), would add more skill expression to her kit again. it's irritating having to hard pocket teammates to be able to consistently amp their abilities. or just rework her honestly. my wr is better this season but it's a way smaller sample size so idk. i'm so tired of playing moira/kiri/ana

Mercy is interesting this season, cause her effectiveness really depends how her team plays. I think she works best when your healing partner has good AoE heals so you can focus on single target healing. And Double single target heals can work too IF you have a good bully like an Orisa or Reaper.

last season i was so fed up with playing her, i took a break to go full dps Moira. I was in my villian era. I'm back on Mercy again & feeling pretty chill. I'm only a quickplay warrior tho. She's still horrible. But i'm enjoying her again. XD

I’ve given up on playing mercy this season. I’ll swap between either moira or kiri. It’s just not worth going mercy and triggering teammates and having them throw my games.

I’ve come back after a break and honestly I don’t feel much a difference lol

I feel like mercy and Brigg are in the same category. they are both good but get sooo much hate for, "not healing enough" when its always the teammate being out of sight, trying to take on the enemy team solo, or just walking into the enemy when they have no reason too! I love brigg but so many times my teammate complain,' brigg do more healing" ( I have 4k healing while other support is playing moira, kiriko, lucio running in the enemy backline dying over a over again)! Im learning how to play mercy right now and I get the same complaints 😤😮‍💨

My games usually start with mercy, cry because it’s not working, and then swapping to kiri or Ana or Moira 🥲

I think she's great. My man meat takes care of the tracers for me though. Maybe that's why. xD I can also easily escape Venture. Even in matches that are a struggle, like if we get a Lucio, I'm gucci hanging in my new Mythic skin.

To be honest i dont feel like winning with mercy i always switch tho i wanna play her cuz kiri or bap feels more beneficial

I think with mercy if you don’t have another competent support to heal the rest of the team while you focus on one at a time- the mercy experience can feel miserable

they cant do any changes to her due to how either she will be broken or weak if they do,its not that she is weak its the current meta dose not resolve around her anymore since the current state of overwatch having either a burst heals+mobility is currently the meta for sp n thats why u can see the rise of moira in the higher elo together with lucio as a top pick, mercy currently a niche pick cuz she only works on some maps/heroes, if u rly want to make her work u need to ask ur 2nd sp to go with ana/baptise or moira to cover the heals needed for the team not like what i see in this clips.

I uninstalled during s9. Installed because I thought they would buff her since she got a Mythic skin for s10… but no. Uninstalled again. Mercy has always been my favorite hero. She’s not fun for me atm :/

Mercy isn't bad. They are bad at using cover and cooperating as a team. Her kit is the most reliant on teammates who work with you and each other to use cover, flanking, and defilade effectively. Players think that real world tactics don't apply to this world, because it's a game with super heroes. But I disagree. I just got my very first PotG as Mercy today, and I have consistently become a high priority target, because I understand how to provide stellar logistics to my teammates, contest objectives, and whip out my sidearm when I need to. I will play Mercy everytime I am able. I would like to see a change to her resurrection ability. It doesn't get enough play. It is impactful, but very, VERY situational and very dangerous in most frays. Usually, I am eschewing it because I would rather keep my living teammates in the fight. It is handy for bringing more allies into the fray, but once again, it is highly situational. A different active, ability with a cooldown to give crowd control, a defensive to Mercy, or a World of Warcraft Killing Blow save on a Caduceus-beam-channeled ally might be a feasible new ability to replace resurrection, in my opinion. Having it change with the activation of Valkyrie would be even cooler. Crowd control gives a group stun, the defensive gives her charges to use it while in Valkyrie, or the channeled WoW killing blow save is now applied to all allies under the effects of the split caduceus beam~

I generally get a ton of healing and a ton of assists in my games as mercy so not sure. She seems mid to me not super op but not the worst. I always enjoyed playing mercy esp in ow2

I mean, insulting or forcing team mercy really doesn't help. If it's the case of mercy only player, forcing her to swap other hero wouldnt help, since mercy is her best skilled one. As you know mercy is not aim required hero, forcing her to play ana or lucio or something.. wouldnt help. Also insulting her wouldnt help neither. It only distracts ur team's focus and morale. Just play your best, no insult. Both you and your team mercy is doing their best to victory. If you dont want to play with mercy just avoid her after game quietly. And What you must know is that mercy players "also in the same tier as YOU". They might be bad in that one game but as enemy they could be good. You could also be good or bad anytime. What i want to say is plz be polite. 😊

Well everyone in my low Diamond Asia lobby believes she's a troll pick for how weak and underpowered Mercy is right now. I never thought this would happen to Mercy of all heroes. Why is Blizzard not seeing this? Their balancing is completely messed up and broken like never before. No buffs are the weakest and no nerf or at least tune down for the strongest OP heroes. The hell is going on in there?😢 Feel like Blizzard been going downhill ever since the employee lawsuits. They're getting worse n worse everyday.

It is true with some mercy players, if u wold heal as much as u damage boost , u wold be unstoppable… u switch to heal only after the player is below half of his health…I don’t know why u do that but it is so hard to play like that sometimes…

K yeah, as someone who plays sombra I love targeting mercys. Yesterday I played a game and never let that damn moth rez once. 5 attempts, none successful. Like I genuinely hate y'all if you're reading this. She is the only character that doesn't have a limit to her heals that isn't for a specific purpose. If you don't understand what I mean, the four original supports were Lucio, Mercy, Symmetra, and Zenyatta. Zenyatta was more focused on helping damage people and long range healing, Lucio was for transportation and healing small cracks, symmetra was for transporation and protecting people, and mercy was for healing huge cracks and bringing people back. But things change, symmetra was a problem so they changed her into a dps. They then changed the whole direction of supporting once they added Ana, where she was the first support to have ammo for their healing, not only that, she was bumping shoulders with mercy and zen, trying to take their damage boosting jobs. With every new support they wanted to change the direction, like moira doing more active damage, brig being able to defend everyone, baptiste being able to prevent people from dying, but then they enormously messed up with the three new supports, all having brainless healing. Two of them have auto aiming healing, the third having a literal turret for healing. But they all still share that same rule that Ana put down, having a restriction. Mercy still does not have that, she can heal through whatever she wants for as long as she wants and you can't catch her because they reworked guardian angel, so now even the most braindead player can use it with pure ease.

I dropped from plat 3 to bronze 1 in season 9 playing mercy only :( never have been this low rank before in all my years of playing, i'm not sure what happened, i don't feel like i've been playing any differently, part of me wants to just give up on mercy, because she seems so bad now, but at the same time she's the only reason i play OW

The answer is yes mercy is not better in season 10 than she was in season 9. She got zero buffs and is still nerfed to the ground. That doesn’t stop us mercy mains from coping with the changes tho 🩷
