Is Minimal Facts argument for the resurrection reliable? | Minimal Facts #1 

Absolutely nothing you've said here is any kind of minimal fact. It all hinges on the pure assumption that every word of the Bible is literal fact, and that's where the entire argument shatters. The Bible is not an objective historical document which can be taken at face value. Scholars DO agree on several things, but NOT the way you've falsely presented it here.

@@amypetty5013 I never said everything in the bible is a fact , in this video i just showed 5 facts which are accepted by the majority of scholars , so yes everything in this specific video is a fact according to historical scholars , even skeptical ones , they just come to different conclusions.

​@@SanctusApologetics I can see how the Eastern tradition of Joseph being an old widower with other children might seem quite convincing, but to me, the Western view of Joseph being young and not previously married and the brethren being cousins makes more sense. First, them being stepbrothers would call into question why John had to be adopted by Mary, as she supposedly had four stepsons who could have taken care of her. One argument I've heard is that the brethren were non-believers (John 7:5), but that is unlikely. First, John's adoption is clearly permanent (John 19:27), but James, even if he was not an Apostle, saw the resurrected Jesus in a private meeting (1 Corinthians 15:7), so John taking care of Mary would have only taken 43 days at most, not the rest of Mary's life. This means that Jesus had to have been the only child of Mary and John 7:5 most likely refers to other, more distantly related members of the family, as James was likely an Apostle (Clopas and Alphaeus are the same name, both have a brother named Jude, and the title "the Lesser" highly suggests the existence of only two very important people by the name of James in Jesus' life).

It is both faith and evidence. Because if it was just faith then islam , hinduism and any other religion would be just as valid. But the evidence suggests Christianity is the truth.
