If you spend 10k on the device, in 2 years you made the 10k back. If you buy 10k BTC it could be worth 30k+ in two years. So it could take 6 years to break even?

Ask one specific question about what PDU to use for S19j 90Th miner. The S19j has a capacity of 3.25kw, I modified breaker in my basement to have a 240 v outlet, the miner needs 15 amps input, to be on the safe side, I think I may need 20 amps input, any suggestions for what PDU I should buy?

Great video I learned a lot. I am an old fart and I am kind of techie though. I've been a welder most of my life and decided to get into something I could do in my old age so I started reading and learning from a book how to build computers and troubleshoot them. Heard about bitcoin years ago and just didn't understand it and wasn't sure it was going to be a thing and of course wish I bought some back then just for the hell of it.. I don't really see myself mining bitcoin but was curious about people doing it. Will be subscribing and can't wait to see your solar set up.

Hey Vosk, if an Asic miner mining bitcoin and a GPU setup eg 6x 3080s mining bitcoin on nicehash cost the same to buy and made similar profits every day would you be OK to buy the GPU setup or not. Thanks..
The gpu setup has a few distinct advantages. First important one is you can change what you are mining. This gives flexibility at any time. The other advantage is you can sell off a card or 2 quite easily. ASICs are hard to sell except in a red hot market when you dont want to sell. Just remember both run fans which can be loud and both produce a ton of heat. Asics being the louder one unless u use a server case.

Only thing is that the miners become obsolete as difficulty increases. So you have to keep buying the newest miners at higher prices pushing out your break even.

Considering the cost of the purchase price of a miner and the cost of electricity and the lost earning potential on the investment while waiting for the roi….. just using the money to buy bitcoin and put in an interest account could be a better option, especially if bitcoin was to hit new all time highs during the roi period. Unless you already have alot of money then just buy a bitcoin miner because it’s fun.

My question is every place I look into mining into Bitcoin, it seems like I have to go mine with a pool.. I want to mine the way Satoshi ment for me to mine.. what do I do to mine that way. I don't wanna give my hash out to some organization that skims off the top.. I just want to mine my own Bitcoin with my computer.

If you buy an asset like a miner with resale value, how are your very first coins not counted as ROI? Even if the asset is depreciating, it still has value in the ROI equation.
The assets liquidation value at any point in time plus capital earned minus expenses should be used to calculate ROI. Even if the liquidation value of the miner changes daily, ypu use the value of the day.

If you invested $10,000 into BTC 1 year ago and just hodled, your would have nearly 5x'd your money. If you spent $6000 on a Bitcoin miner and got $500/month earnings, you would have just broken even if you don't value your time. It doesn't seem worth it to mine.

My understanding is with POW the stronger your mining capability the more chance you have of being chosen to solve / mine a block; so how does a person in a house with one or two small miners ever even make a cent when there's huge industrial set ups out there. I found out about bitcoin in 2016 when i was in highschool and was instantly hooked. I begged my parents to buy me a miner for christmas. Told all my friends that it was the future. Nobody listened to me and here we are. Obtaining a miner never materialized as id be a millionaire now if i did, but i am here now mining using your channels advice and great videos. asic miners ussually have a 6 months warranty so they are expected to die young now with a 10k price its just to much unless you have below 15 cents kwh energy cost!!! where i live energy costs around 35 cents kwh which is way to high it will take 2 year to pay back the miner in that time it will be dead already
