@@thebabypixel4035 I just suggested this and now I've seen you already did, guess It wasn't as original as I thought 😂 but yeah thats what I'd go with
I was just about to comment the same thing. Like wtf. They were already hitting the correct target. How do you accidentally retarget your own unit at that point?
The second blink was kind of epic. He blinked around the lurkers so they were just shooting in every direction and only hitting one stalker each. Probably accidental.
Jesus is Truth, your Creator and He loves you. So, love yourself. It is written in the Bible that if you seek Jesus with all of your heart, you will find Him, which means that you will have a supernatural encounter with God. Pray and read the Bible.
Hello, I did, in fact, submit this replay because I felt so many emotions and just flabbergasted at the result. I am happy with my rating, but let me provide some extra Easter eggs in this romantic comedy: When I made my 3rd oracle and was trying to shoot the overlord on top of the pervert pillar, I almost accidentally killed my own oracle with stalkers because I right clicked on top of the oracle. Another one would be that when I was retaking my 3rd base, I misplaced it by one hex. Thanks for looking over the game, I hope the people enjoy it and I will try to become better and take notes of the tips you gave me :D
man the game was a real gem! harstem was so busy roasting you and coming up with movie analogies that he missed half the action :D loved the reusable green soap, good content
I sent a replay to, but then was like fair enough. Cause was just a 7 min replay of just getting stomped by terran. Not much content or much to say about it pmsl .
One of the reasons I enjoy watching "lower level" games is I think you can learn more from them as a player than watching pros. Pros make so few mistakes that are often not relatable, while masters players and such make so many more mistakes I think you learn more. Watching pros may be more "entertaining" in a way, and are fun to watch on their own without much learning value. Just appreciation of mastery.
This series should be called 'The Captain's Call'. In the Navy, the ship captains get their crews together and answer questions or give out BZ's (Bravo Zulu's) for high performing sailors. Could also be Captain's Mast if you feel it is more of a punishment...
Harstem Humiliates Hopeful Heroes I think the occasional lower level replay gives a good vehicle for Harstem's patented idioms and analogies that we all love. Too many would get boring and have to make sure to pick games with constant action like this one had.
So about these kinds of games: The only way they can be entertaining is if there's comedy involved, like your comment about "he smelled another god awful fight." The reason why these fall short isn't because the player is bad or the player has a bad sense of entertainment, it's that we, as an audience, have more entertaining things to watch than someone in... I assume high plat diamond playing a standard game. Many of us remember day9 and his dailies regarding funday monday. it always worked because day9 was a comedian at heart. He could make any game fun, so it just worked when people sent in content like that. It would have to be that Harstem could provide us with some kind of comedy to your lukewarm regular games, otherwise why watch unless it's like a stream where you're watching the player progress through ranks or something. If it's some random game from some random person we have no clue about, then it's not nearly as good as someone who everyone knows playing concurrent games. If you have value to your games, host them yourself, provide streams of yourself. Include your own comedy. Fail some, learn what people like, make a name, and become something.
I had fun watching this. If you did this again, I think more commentary on what the expected times of steps in a build order would make it educational in addition to already entertaining
isn't it the same for ranked roulette that 98% of games are wins? i remember joining in when my ex watched a rom-com with her friend, and it was like the third part in the trilogy, making it even worse in terms of predictability because you know the people that are together in the beginning will stay together until the end. shortly before the end it was like "hey, main character girl didn't get allowed to as , so now they have to split up and will only see each other occasionally. which i thought was a really powerful and cool message, maybe your life is more important than your high school sweetheart and if they're worth it, you'll find away even while you're not around as much (although unlikely). except he then decided to downgrade and go to a college closer to her. i was furious what bullshit message they send to teenagers, give up your whole life for a person. you know every time they get into a fight now, he's gonna complain about what he gave up for her. and if it doesn't work out because people change in college, he gave up quality of life for 40+ years for the high school sweetheart that was a part of 3-5 years of his life.
I did literally the same thing in my life 15 years ago and regret it daily. We broke up like 3 years later and I'm left holding the mostly useless degree from a no name community college
i found this content very educational thanks to captain commenting what was good and what was bad. I'm too much of a noob to learn much from perfect high-level games.
Thinking of romantic tragedies reminds me of this one manga, girl and dude are gonna get married, he gets hit by a drunk driver, dies, ends up their daughter ends up getting married instead like 10 chapters later. Didn't see that one coming for sure.
I think this would be an amazing series if you could explain in more detail what the correct moves are in addition to flaming them for the wrong thing, would provide so much learning value! You flamed him a lot for blinking into the Lurkers, you did mention spreading out the stalkers into a bit more of a concave and blinking back. Is that enough? Is there more that could be done? How would YOU handle that attack in that moment? You did mention getting storm and immortals, which he eventually did, but then still flamed those flights. It would be incredible if you could actually show how you would handle these fights, as it isn't obvious to players like myself.
26:00 Watch Broadcast News, The Graduate, or Remember Me. All romcoms that don't have the classic happy ending!!! Remember Me is probably the closest to what you described (it is NOT what you expect it to end with)
@Harstem you missed the part where GuitarKing almost took out his own oracle on accident. He was already targeting the overlord and somehow retargeted to the oracle at 5:32
I enjoyed the game, your casting and your analogies about it! I was quite impressed with Guitarkings play. Sure, the mechanics were not great and the fights against the lurkers, let's say questionable. But his constant runbys, his splitting of the armies and stuff like that was very very good. I have seen pro gamers who did a worse job regarding this aspect. That made the game fun to watch, because a lot was happening. And despite a lot of stuff happening, the macro was fine too. Yeah, not GM level, but it was good. Upgrades as well. IMO his biggest weakpoint and the only thing preventing him from climbing even higher on the ladder are his subpar fights. Personally I'd like to see more viewer games cast.
Harstem, you could find the cartoon "Gigi" very interesting! It's about a little girl going about her business everyday, then one day she gets run over by a truck on her way to school and that's the end of the show.
I will forever lament losing the replay of my most epic game. I didn't win. It was a tie, as I killed the zerg's last hidden extractor at the exact moment that he shot down my last flying building on the other side of the map, after a 40-minute absolute banger of a game. This was yeeears ago and I still think about it.
In warmer climate you have forest roaches. They have an amber shield, and they don't really hide in the dark and don't run away in the light. So they are not good for harassment of terrans indoor. Entirely harmless. They are moving up into southern Germany, where I live, with the climate.
I like it. I feel like what's epic about my type of game (this) is how much someone throws away for free, there should be a count of free units thrown away or something.
Call it: Harstems's Heroes In reference to McNamaras Misfits, when during the Vietnam war the US recruited less than eligible soldiers to fill out the ranks
Came for the epic content, stayed for the sarcasm "blinking stalkers forward to maximize the damage from the lurkers" rofl. If we have to watch amateur gameplay, at least we have roasty fire in the commentary =)
I prefer replays that suck and the person submitting gets absolutely roasted, IODIS goes straight to my veins. Or, failing that, bronze replays where even the pros have no idea what's going to happen.
Hey Harstem am i worthless, am i worthless, or am i okay harstem? Hey Harstem am i worthless, am i worthless or am I okay Harstem? Youve been hit by, youve been struck by, a smooth ca-aptain!
It's always such a climactic moment when the attractive, non glasses-wearing ex gets his fourth hatchery sniped and realizes she deserved better all along
Maybe you should institute a No Winners Wednesday or something where people are only allowed to submit replays where they lost, and then pick replays at random so you don't know whether the player is gonna win or lose.
I always think phoenix is a very good late game unit. it can pick tank or lurker up for the main army to engage. In reality my APM is just lacking and what happens is phoenix just go in first and dies my stalker didn't brink cuz it's in the same group as phoenix. everything is a mess. Now I know why Pro don't do it. (I see some Pro does one or two and fail miserably) but when it works it feel cool as hell.
This game is actually balls. There's no intrigue whatsoever, there wasn't a single moment where I thought, that protoss is going to lose(just in case, I'm main protoss). And I know DeinTsu, he's been helping me once, he's a very nice dude. Anyway, it's not Harstem being too picky about the games, it's just this game sucks.
