Is NASCAR Console Gaming IMPROVING? Or Just More Of the SAME 

What do you think of the new NASCAR Heat DLC and news of the NASCAR kart racing game?

I'm honestly just hoping the Gen 7's appear in the New Forza Motorsport.

As a dirt oval race fan/sim race driver/modder, I know the greatness of fan-developed/modded content. Long live rFactor 1 & 2, Automobilista 1 & 2, NR2003, and Heat!!

I’ll just wait for the new Forza Motorsport release and create NASCAR schemes on the Fords and Chevys.

I just said fuck it now I’m playing NASCAR Legends (1999) on pc but I’m gonna check out the DLC Tomorrow hopefully it modifies the physics for the next gen car tho I’m not holding my breath

I wouldn’t be excited about the new game. The same company created Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing. The “You’re Winner!” game.

At this point I have no hope for NASCAR Gaming which is sad. At least we have the Heat 5 update and the modding community.

the one thing I can equate this to is when WWE 2k20 was released as an awful awful mess. Now idk/can't remember if people just played 2k19 but 2k skipped the 2021 release as they worked on a better overall game for the 2k22 later games. Just something I'd bring up. It sure sounds like something needs to be done for NASCAR games going forward

It's still better than nascar 21, which I still refuse to buy. I've genuinely enjoyed nascar heat 5. I'm glad console is getting something. Not all of us are RU-vidrs and can afford a gaming PC. That's part of the argument you failed to mention

At this point, anything new NASCAR related is a positive. That being said, I feel companies like Polyphany Digital (the makers of the Grand Turismo series), 2K Sports, the makers of Forza Motorsport (sorry, forgot the name of the company), iRacing would all be great choices for new NASCAR console games in the future, certainly better than what we have now!

My big question is "does Motorsport Games have a SIMULATION RACING exclusivity like EA does for football simulation for the NFL?" That clause stops developers like 2K from making a "Sunday Football" style game and they would be forced to make "arcade" style games for football like the cart racer you mention here in the NASCAR space. If there isn't anything in the contract about being the sole "simulated stock car racing developer", then the market is free and clear to release a stock car racing game that the NASCAR fan would enjoy with all fictional tracks and cars. Then they allow it to be highly moddable, and all of a sudden you have a 2K3 situation where your physics is on point, and fans can freely keep the game close to real life by adding what the game couldn't legally have. NASCAR could see sales figures for the amazing platform and evaluate signing that team up when the contract for MSG expires or is pulled for not meeting the conditions of the contract. The made up game could feature a My Team similar to F1 and show NASCAR what a good game should look like. Exclusive developers can get way too comfortable when they know that no one can make anything to compete with them.

Don’t buy this shit guys. Go spend your $10 on something that’s actually worth spending it on. The next GEN mod might not be fully detailed but at least you’re not being charged by some fraudulent company for it. And at least it’s not going to break the game like this DLC most likely is. You got a love how they magically have this ready midway through 2023 right after the drop of this mod. Just pathetic.

WWE 2k20 was so bad that the 2021 game was canceled and it was like NASCAR saw that and said “I bet we can top that” It’s really sad too because Heat 2-5 made strides and were okay games at least. It sometimes feel like Motorsport games picked up the rights just to give their other series less competition and have been bombing it on purpose.

I wish so badly these mods worked for console! That 2010 Jr Wrangler car is one of my favorites & it looked great on the current Xfinity car. The AC Delco scheme looked pretty tight too! I also like some arcade racers. I loved the EA arcade NASCAR games. If they do it right, it could be fun, but no sponsors, just plain cars?! Come on, even Nascar Rumble had sponsors, but if they make it fun, maybe like an updated Daytona USA or the NASCAR arcade machines i mentioned before, they might pull of something fun to play. I’m not optimistic, but hopeful anyway. If it’s a money grab, not working to get sponsors & real cars & drivers seems like a strange way to cash in on the name!

Trust me, Madden ain't far off from Ignition 21. It's unplayable to anyone looking for sim football but it has such a massive hype machine around it and a gamer community (economy) that boosts it that EA is allowed to keep profiting off of trash and no effort.

Keep in mind, NASCAR Arcade Rush is made by the same company that made Big Rigs: Off Road Racing. *I think enough has been said.*

I like Nascar heat ultimate edition + a lot on Nintendo Switch, this is my favorite game on this support actually. I also have Nascar Rivals, it has its good sides but the problem is that it crashes all the time when you’re in carrier mode. Hope there will be an update to fix that. Concerning the new Nascar game to come on switch, I will preorder it as I’ve done for Rivals, because this is my job, (I run a NASCAR channel too) but I’m not as much enthusiastic as that. Kinda Hotwheels Unleashed… Yeah, but no real pilots… Don’t know. Time will tell.

I'll pay $10 for this. 1) $10 is not much money. I spend 4x that every time I play golf 2) I still play NASCAR Heat 5 (never bought Ignition b/c of negative reviews) 3) 2022 schemes means Kurt Busch will be in the game

If you can still get a NASCAR license, but not have the license to teams and drivers and all that, why doesnt someone else make a simulator type game instead of an arcade one, that's actually playable? Even if the drivers are fictional or whatever, they can still get licensed tracks, and even if that's impossible, they can put realistic fantasy tracks based on real ones. I'd be fine with that, especially if theres good customization with it too

I got into NASCAR Heat 5 for the first time in like a decade and I was suprised that they kept all the series for career mode in it since I’ve been so numb to how slim madden is.

21 years ago, a Nascar game came out that, to this day, is the best console Nascar game. Dirt to Daytona had the physics. It had the graphics. It had everything that apparently Nascar games today can't have. It boggles my mind that a 21 year old PS2 Nascar game is superior to PS5 Nascar games. Surely they can do the things D2D did on today's consoles. Right?

Honestly it feels like IRacing is the only way to go at this point.

I'm not a big fan of the new game that's gonna be released this year to be fair but at least we have something for NH5.

I just want a game that makes a better career mode. Let me run a race team with multiple cars. Have free agency a thing so you can build a super team with all your favorite drivers. The next thing I want is to have tracks in game not from that year. Why can’t we race on all the different Sonoma configurations? Why can’t the Daytona road course be in there? Also, bring back EA’s created street tracks and fantasy tracks.

My view is that we know Heat 5 actually works. If they can update it to have the new car and the 2022 lineup, so be it. I didn't waste any money on Ignition, and I'm not going to, even if it's $20. I'd rather spend half that, since it's more validation that the old game is better than the new one.

I’ve played so many fun racing games, I just don’t get it

The new DLC looks great, hopefully it plays well and Heat 5 is so much better than Ignition. The new kart racing game does look fun but I hope it plays well as well, at least it’s made by a company other than MSG. But the best thing I wish would happen is that if iRacing would buy Motorsport Games and under iRacings leadership, would make better games and since they acquired Monster Games, it could work. That would be fantastic. All I hope is that later on, the games get better.

if i was a game developer and and other coders and programmers started making their own mods to my games i'd get off my high horse and get to working its really sad when other geeks remake your games because the original creator is to lazy to update but dont get me wrong coding and programming to update any software is not a fun ride.

All their showing is that they cant handle a simulation game and step down to something easier motorsports games really has work to do for the years they have

I know the company is stupid and they won't do this but I say replace cody in this game You can still have the 51 car but Put in the driver who replaced him last season because remember last year He missed 1 race Whoever drove the car that day should replace him in this DLC

HEAT 5 IS NOT BETTER THAN IGNITION! Ignition has really good physics and that’s all you need for a good game, 2 person races are even fun, that’s how good the physics. You know it’s a good game when you can race with one other person and have fun. All the haters only play career mode, but that’s their mistake you need to play online in order to have fun. Also I would like you to try being a drag racing fan.

I TOTALLY agree! Console gaming, even this arcade Mario Kart-like title is important! Kids, the younger generation, is crucial to keep the sport alive. Young fans become older fans. And a title like this will reach some younger fans and draw them in. Heck, I love they seemingly are using different generation stock cars as the different cars you can drive since we can't get official manufacturers. It actually really reminds me of this idea I've had brewing FOR YEARS of a fan game that would include different generations of NASCAR in one title. And THAT. We NEED more fan-made content! If ANYONE is interested in making a NASCAR or... Stock-car sandbox fan-game... I have a legit bible of information I'd love to share and get a team together to see what we could do. If ANYONE is interested, especially those with knowledge of game development or just a love of the history of NASCAR? Feel free to reply to this thread!

Agree with you 100%. If people buy this dlc that is a year late they are only validating the devs and publishers lazy behaviour
