Some people will still say Giannis, but Giannis' shooting is a real weakness in the playoffs. Jokic has no weaknesses. Obviously the best all-around offensive player, passing shooting, leadership. And he defends at a high level. He doesn't block many shots, but he's always in the right place, gets a ton of deflections, and is a key cog for a very solid Denver defense. Jokic is in a tier of his own.

@@KnoxWheelerJr I mean Giannis has been probably a top 15 or even top 10 player since the '16-'17 season, but the Bucks didn't start getting a lot of nationally televised games until just recently. Same for the Warriors, they didn't get much coverage until after their first chip because nobody expected them to win in 2015. It just goes back to what RJ said, you have to get it done first. Nobody thought a jumpshooting / run & gun team could win a chip until GSW finally did it.

When you talk about the complete package, he can score in the low post, shoot the mid range, shoot the three, shoot free throws, make just about any pass you can think of, rebound and he’s been playing great defense in the finals getting steals and blocks. And is the very definition of “making your teammates better.”
He hasn't proven he can carry a team deep into the playoffs with injuries and an average supporting cast. Giannis has. Lebron has. Kobe has. He's a great player but he hasn't dominated both ends of the floor like previous superstars.

Perk saying "the best player in the world" has to at least have a 5-year run or more like LeBron did, I mean Giannis kind of did that. He was arguably the best player in the NBA over the past 5 years, from the end of 2018 to now. Just within the past 5 years, he has 2 MVPs, 5 Allstar appearances, 5 straight unanimous All-NBA 1st team selections (which is a record btw, nobody else in NBA history has done that unanimously more than 3 times in a row), 1 DPOY, 4 All Defensive 1st Team selections, youngest player named to the NBA top 75 team, 1 Championship, 1 FMVP, and the first player in NBA history to average 30+ PPG, 10+ RPG, and 5+ APG on 55%+ shooting in a season. Giannis' accolades just within the past 5 years is a HOF career in itself. His resume thus far already takes him into being arguably a top 20 player of all time already. Jokic's past 3-year run is pretty impressive too, once he gets a chip, the only thing that he doesn't match Giannis in are basically all the defensive awards. The crazy thing is, both of these guys are still young & within the prime of their careers. The only reason people switch up their "best player in the world" opinion all the time is because they think you have to win or be in the Finals to have that title. The best player in the NBA doesn't necessarily win a chip or get to the Finals every year. Guys like MJ, Kobe, & LeBron were the best players in the world multiple years, that didn't mean they won every single year. Lol

If I told you just a couple a years ago just one player who would eliminate Bron, AD, KD, Booker, CP3 and Jimmy butlers Heat while averaging 30pts triple double , taking the Franchise to their 1st NBA finals, breaking multiple NBA records in the process you prob would have not believed me because that sounds like one of the greatest runs in the NBA history. Giannis was hurt this year and last 2 years Jokic did not get help. Both are the best in the NBA right now. Embiid is great and deserving of the MVP. People get too caught up in the moment and narratives. Right now is Jokic's time to shine and I support him and the Nuggets 100% but some of his fans are going way over board and are doing him disservice by exaggerating.
