Could this New Obi-Wan Kenobi Legacy Lightsaber... be THE BEST lightsaber Galaxy's Edge has made so far??

I think any oxidation on the inside of the saber would be immediately burned away when the saber activates, so that part of the lightsaber would only look weathered if it'd not been used in years. I think it was a design choice to show it's still in use despite being old.

After a few years of buying legacy sabers, I bit the bullet and bought an artsabers Obi wan… and I can not praise neo pixel sabers enough, they make the legacy sabers look so bad

That's Disney for you. They already have the pre-orders lined up, so apparently not a priority for Disney. Coming from China is likely why it's in the west coast park first. The prices are escalating on the Galaxy's Edge sabers. Originally they were $100, they sold so fast they were marked up to $120. Now I think most in the glass case are $160, and they even marked up the box sets, those were $200 when I went in March. People are starting to realize you can get a quality, non character specific xenopixel saber from LGT for $150 or less. The weathering does look good though.

Hi Obi-Dad Kenobi!!! Nice channel man! So I went to D23 Expo last Sunday. Later that night after dinner at Downtown Disney I went into the Star Wars store. I saw the new Obi-Wan lightsaber and omg I wasn’t even aware of it’s release 😅 but was immediately in love. I bought it. It’s my third legacy lightsaber. Sorry for writing so much. Love your review on it. I’m happy I was able to get it! 👍

I love this saber too!! It's the Revenge of the Sith lightsaber that's halfway weathered from Revenge of the Sith to A New Hope. Disney did a great job showing the weathering on this saber hilt to be about half way between Episode III and IV!

The Series was awesome. I love that they were able to bring Hayden back. I love this saber. I still like my Anakin one a little more, I mean because it's Anakin, but its really more like 1A - 1B. That emitter though... 😅 It's like a pelican choking on a fish NICE TOUCH!

The lightsaber design overall as a display piece looks really good & the sound effect sound very clean. Loving the weathered age look. Fantastic review. Obi-wan is my favorite Jedi. The saber looks amazing, but I really, really, really like that stunt Obi-wan saber. I know it might be very expensive but it is everything that you want in the Obi-wan lightsaber. You really set the bar high with saber, at least in my eyes.

This is honestly giving me better opinions on the Obi-Wan lightsaber design. I'm still a huge fan of the Anakin hilt, though. But I now think more of the Obi-Wan hilt.

Hey! Great video! I just wanted to know if there is a difference between those big black containers that that one came in vs those cargo crates in Dok ondars. Are the hilts made differently? Are these ones and the crate ones sold in the same place? Can you buy these online?

Hey Owen, those are great questions and thank you for watching. The Sabres are the exact same, the large cargo crates are either sold on shopDisney.com or usually in star traders store in Disneyland. Their light sabers go on sale sometimes online but usually sell out within minutes.

If I got this saber, Id probably put a grip on the thick neck so itd look more natural with the blade attached. I've never been a fan of Kenobi's or Luke's (I loved curved hilts) but this one looks very nice!

Make sure to keep that receipt handy for when you want to return it. The Hasbro sabers have been awful products in my opinion lately. But I’ll keep hoping for the best for the both of us.

@@FindingTheForce going to be honest I haven't had an issue with my hasbro Lightsabers. If I had minor complaints it would be that it's almost impossible to swing the sabers without turning off the saber or pressing the blaster switch. The second complaint is the blades are not replaceable. Other than that I've enjoyed my hasbro sabers

Obi-Dad this is the saber I want but I really want the A New Hope version with the bubble activation switch. If you can point me in the right direction to get a great Obi-Wan Kenobi saber with all the sound fx already added into the hilt that would be greatly appreciated if possible somewhere that excepts payment arrangements. And I love that double clash like in The Empire Strikes Back on Bespin when luke Strikes at Darth Vader and the weathering is awesome but I really want a smooth swing like the other Obi-Wan Kenobi saber you have.

I think they're cool souvenirs if you're at the park, but if you're paying scalper prices, your money can go further with an LGT like saber. Luke's lightsaber in a base lit saber is like $140 shipped. That being said my first saber was a Galaxy's Edge saber and it did it's job of getting me into the hobby well.

I noticed that the top of the attachment comes off on mine with a removable sleeve inside. Is that to possibly support third party blades???

Uhhhh.... I can only assume that you're talking about the upper half that holds the blade? There should be a blade plug, but the sleeve inside I don't think it supposed to come out. You might want to call Disney about that, probably want to have them send you a replacement.

Man…you did not mention an enormous blunder… The saber ONLY works with blade on…without you can’t turn it on…no sound. 90% will put that on a stand without blade. That means that if you want to turn the sound on you need to mount the blade ant the terrible adapter… Do you know if the saber without saber only available at the Disney park is exactly the same or you can turn it on without the blade?

I really enjoyed the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, I even watched each episode twice. One of my karate classmates and I thought it was the best Star Wars series.

That’s a good point. I would get just the hilt, I already have a Disney legacy blade. Since it’s sold as a bundle I just preordered the Hasbro one.

Hey Finding the Force, just out of curiosity, what were your thoughts on Obi Wan’s appearance in the series? I was a little disappointed because the concept art showed an Obi Wan that looked halfway between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with gray hair/beard. The Kenobi here looks maybe 3 years past Revenge of the Sith, with grown out hair and a shorter beard. I hope a Season 2 will show an Obi Wan closer in appearance to Alec Guinness’ version!

Hey JK, thanks for the question. I guess I thought his appearance looked OK, I can't stop staring at his shirt that is all baggy in the front. I understand the designers needed to find a new style, but I he just looks so dirty and unkept. 🤷🏼‍♂️

i wish they made a gyroscope based light saber.... this way its lore accurate and it probably feels great doing the obi ani spin...... since i found out they work with gyroscopes and Momentum, normal lightsabers just seem so basic to me unpopular opinion, i know

hilt looks gorgeous, but the double clash effect turns me away from this one, makes it more toy like than replica like. you could argue the legacy sabers are an in-between between toy and replica, regardless, think i'll pass on this one, holding out for the qui gon one

The main thing thatll keep me from getting a saber like this from them is the lack of thin neck with the blade. I mean i could pay maybe $100 more from saberforge and the thin neck works with their blade and its pretty battle ready. I have the Luke ROTJ from them and never had any issues with the neck. Im sure theyll do it eventually but im like you im one of those fans that thinks it looks ugly and i need it to be screen accurate 🤣 but at least its many steps up from that dumpster fire leia saber

@@FindingTheForce yeah i agree but luckily u can split em into 4 payments which helps. My main issue with saberforge is availability and the 3-6 month wait time. Luckily they have prebuilt sabers that take less than 3 weeks for shipping now but all the good stuff is sold out

I have a saberforge obi-wan redeemer. It took a long time to recieve ( a little over a year). The electronics crapped out after a year. Now I'm struggling to get saberforge to fix it. I have galaxy's edge sabers that I haven't changed the batteries in since 2019 that at least still work without issue.
