That’s how it works in the Star Wars. Even the Kaminoan themselves watched multiple clones being born and growing up. You only find it weird because it’s different from our own reality. I don’t think it’s weird because it’s natural in a fictional story setting.
I agree, there's a lot of hate and dislike towards Omega. The people feel this way because their excuse is that she is a naïve child, she’s too intelligent or something other weak excuses and reasons.
@@spyrofrost9158you ask me, I’d wager Ahsoka’s early, annoying personality was intentional. It put her in a prime position to learn some character-building lessons throughout the rest of the show.
@@GGBlaster I agree. Ahsoka just makes sense as a snide 13-year-old with no experience beyond the Jedi Temple only to receive lessons in humility in the field. For as smart as Omega is, I'd like to think her naivety is again due in large part to how she's only ever seen the sterile walls of Tipoca City throughout the bulk of her life.
Another difference with Omega is that she's not treated with the aging agent (presumably) that the rest of the Bad Batch were treated with - so she has actually lived all of those years, and got to have much more normal neurological development, while watching the Kaminoans do their science and politics. I would say that she only could be described as manipulative in that being physically smaller, she needs to get her needs met through persuasion, rather than breaking heads or harsh threats. She's just a great character.
Omega is one of those characters who is genuinely good. You don’t get that often, most characters have some sort of important flaw that holds them back, and that is what makes their story interesting. What makes Omega’s story engaging and interesting is seeing how a genuinely good person interacts in an evil world. Great video Allen!
@@CreestofOfficial Omega isn’t even essential using manipulation more like “charisma.” But yes Omega is basically the opposite of Palpatine. At least in the case of mind sets and morals.
Agree with your statement. Honestly I see Omega as an intelligent and innocent person. She knows the difference between what’s good and evil. Along with reading her surroundings and understanding people, thus building connections to help herself and others in the process.
The S1 premiere also gives a brief dark glimpse into Omega's life on Kamino, when Echo wakes up in the infirmary she tells him "I know, I know, I don't like being hooked up to their machines either."
Explosive Ordnance Disposal is a significantly underrated training field for Omega. She has those tiny fingers; perfect for fine manipulation. Having been an EOD tech the fact that Wrecker is the squads EOD Tech definitely fits in with a decent portion of the EOD population.
@@babombermanthe reason landmines are such a human rights problem is that the same people whining about it also cry when the most effective people to do untrained EOD - children - are allowed to do it! Like what do they even want?!
Great analysis as always. She's an empath- and I'm sure its related to her high m count. It's how she manifests force ability. I do feel she is truly compassionate, and her "manipulation" does not contain any ill intent whatsoever :)
I don't know if would make a difference to the plot but Omega's concern for the Bad Batch might make more sense if she is their genetic "mother". She's old enough to have been the donor for their creation. Nala Se likely created Clone Force 99 as an off-shoot of experimenting with Omega's DNA; I imagine that the primary Fett DNA was guarded closely for Republic Army production but Omega's DNA was freely available for Nala Se's experimentation. Omega hasn't explicitly said so but she probably knows all about the Bad Batch, from the time of their engineering, birth, training and maturation. She doesn't have the opportunity for a lot of "normal" kid hobbies but she could easily follow the exploits of her "kids" and would definitely care enough to do so. She cares like a mom; the Empire is in for a bad day if she "moms" like Sarah Connor. The day that Omega snaps and chooses violence to protect her family is going to be frightening.
In other words, Omega was designed to be a high-level officer. Yeah, bet ya she becomes a major force in the Rebellion that never tips her hand, so that she never has to be shown, 'til maybe Andor? Or maybe in the Mandalorian movie!
Omega isnt a manipulator. She is just very intelligent. When you think of people with high IQ you might think of someone like tech but he has an enhanced memory. People with high IQ tend to present traits such as empathy, the ability to easily understand others (which can be used to manipulate people) and quick problem solving skills. These are all traits presented in omega, so no she is not a manipulative psychopath, she is just very intelligent.
If Omega ages normally and she schooled for 12 years, watched the Bad Batch grow up for 9 years and add 3 years of their missions after that, she would then be 24. If she ages at half the normal rate she would look to be only 12.
Explains her older sister. Here's a theory. Maybe Omega is indeed 24-25 years old and her older looking sisters are the ones that was given normal aging. Likely controlled experiments to see how normal versions of Omega would work. Omega herself was slow aged for experimentation and preservation. Her brothers of course given the standard clone aging with only her brother Boba Fett being the only real clone that was a true Clone of Jango.
You do understand that at the latest, Omega would've been created in 31 BBY, right? That mean by 18-17 BBY (which is right around the time Season 3 takes place) she'd be about 13-14 years old. And because she's unaltered, she grows like a normal human. So that pans out.
Remember guys, manipulative doesn't = evil. Being manipulative just means you know how to control others through their emotions, motivations, etc. Manipulation is just portrayed with villains mostly in media so it's associated with that as well. You can manipulate people for a morally good cause.
I think Omega might have slowed aging on top of the m-count stuff. It takes 10 years of rapid aging for a clone to reach maturity. She was a lab assistant 12 years ago when The Bad Batch was being grown.
im betting shes likely around 12, since the bad batch is atleast a few years younger than echo, and possibly even younger than the war itself, since theyre clone force 99, a number that only had significance only about a third into the war and if, hypothetically, the bad batch was made after 99s death (which is highly unlikely, as they all look like theyre in their 30s, but likely early 20s) then she was definitely old enough to see them born
@@Mast3rKK Clone Wars ended 2 years ago. Bad Batch was active for around 1 year during the war and 10 years to grow a clone. 13 years ago, Omega was old enough to be a lab assistant not an infant. Omega isn't rapid aged which means she would have been at least 5 or 6 to have basic communication and motor function 13 years ago. Omega should be like 22 or 23 years old.
I think now that it's confirmed that Omega has a high M-count, we're going to find out this is what has made her seem so lucky. I doubt she's outright Force-sensitive, but she clearly has a heightened empathy and intuition. She's not aware of this, and she doesn't intentionally manipulate people, but she can't help it. It's natural to try and persuade others, and her sensitivity gives her a huge advantage in doing so. She's a good person at heart, and really would be happy if everyone was just nice to each other.
I don’t think Omega is a Jedi, Sith or force-sensitive. Just intelligence altered clone, possibly with high IQ. Due to her being created and raised by the Kaminoan and later the Bad Batch. She displayed great understanding, empathy, compassion, courage, and charisma.
I do wonder whether she is a lot more than Force-compatible. The way she can reach out and engage with animals really leans towards a certain aptitude. However, she's no Jedi. I don't think Sith, either. Bendu is established and think of the power he displayed, and I have a feeling Omega's going to turn out to be a lot more capable than expected in a future confrontation. This would also mean that Necromancer can continue without needing her, as the ability to create a Force User was already perfected (which is also where I think Ventress is coming from).
My wild theory is that she's not a clone of Jango at all, it was a cover up. She's actually a clone of the a night sister and Palpatine is looking for the ability to resurrect himself, not clone himself. Hence project "necromancer". Plus, she uses energy bows and arrows like them and isn't force sensitive in the same way the Jedi are.
Maybe that's the real reason Ventress is in this season - maybe she's a Ventress clone and not a Jango clone. Ventress (when she grew it back) is also blonde. You may be on to something here.
@@BrentStewart Although, the night sisters are not actually human but Dahomirian Zabraks. Maybe she's still a Fett clone but mixed with their genes, her older sister being a previous failed attempt.
Omega has a tan complexion, Dathomirians are literally pale white, and the males are tattooed, the other non Dathomirian zabrak are tan tho so a far off maybe?
I see Omega as an intelligent and innocent person. She knows the difference between what’s good and evil. Along with reading her surroundings and understanding people, thus building connections to help herself and others in the process.
So lets see. Hunter : Natural Leader, Tracker, Cross Hair: Sharp Shooter by the book. Wrecker : Demolition and EOD, Also heavy lifter Tech: Data hacker, Technician, Information gatherer. Here's what I think Omega actually is. Omega: Anyalst, Negotiator, Command & Control. She was meant to be the actual leader of the squad. Its commanding leader that overseas a situation sees who the players are and decides the best course of action. Whether its the squad going into a fight knowing the weaknesses and strengths of a enemy due to her observation. Or herself personally negotiating or interacting with opponents. HOLY CRAP She's Thrawn!! Well not really him, but she has some traits that makes her comparable due to her ability to read people and thus come to decisions that can directly go in her favor. Only other people that can pull off such abilities are Force users.
I really like how they're fleshing out Omega's character. She's a kid who lived most of her life around mostly adults and it shows alot in her mannerisms. Her enhanced tactical skills are handy for more than just winning at Sabaac and Dejeric. Without them she'd still be on Tantiss or at one of the other testing facilities. I do hope that these characters stick around in some way. Omega and Boba would be the same age if she's still alive and isn't the reason they were able to create Snoke.
A good leader acknowledges the strengths and shortfalls of their team as equally important and knows how to use both to the advantage of a mission. Teams do know who is the better person at something and help each other out as best they can, although in the bad batch we can see the specialities of each however when it comes to imperial command, that style of leader only focusses on results and can be at risk of "Flogging a dead horse" with such a highly specialised team. Omega see's them more than just the sum of their designated specialities and is something that she can do very well with everyone around her. She can pick out what an individual has been lacking or wanting from others and can provide that, it fills in the gap which ends up being a great motivator and encouragement to people (and driods). To bring the best out of people sometimes it takes taking care of the little things for them so they can have more energy in giving their best.
I really like Omega because she had some really good character growth while still keeping her values and her optimism in her heart, the prison arc especially showed what she is capable of without making her some completely OP character.
As a group we watch you and our weekly star wars media- for me the being able to count on a thought provoking moment nearly every day That’s as been reliable as our family Thank you dude.
I think people are wanting her to be evil in some kind of way because they can't except that she really has a good heart and doesn't like hurting others unless absolutely necessary.
Considering the most recent episode revealed she had a high midiclorian count, it’s possible that her ability to connect with people is due to force sensitivity letting her sense the emotions of those around her
Omega likely has some sort of connection to the "Living Force", which would explain her ability to read people so easily and know how to manipulate the situation at hand so quickly.
Being someone with a lot of people knowledge, I can relate to Omega. Growing up, I never really had much stability. Combine that with manipulative family members and I quickly had to learn how to read people. I always hated being used by them. Now I'm at a point where I sometimes think I might know how people work better than a psychologist. I could use this knowledge I have for selfish reasons. I might occasionally do that when there is no harm involved. Say, watching a movie that I like instead or getting a good friend to speak about something they're not too comfortable sharing. Of course, I do keep secrets. though I never wanna use that to hurt others. So I decided to use my people knowledge to help people. Push others to go beyond their comfort zone to better themselves. To admit their love to someone when they would be too shy otherwise. It's manipulative in a way. But it's hard to call it that when I'm doing it for a positive outcome. I mean, a few days ago I pushed a friend of one of my best friends to admit how much she likes him. She got out of a relationship recently and was unsure if she ever wanted to date someone again. That relationship was over a month before they broke up though. But I knew how she felt about him. So I started talking and slowly I hit every nail on the head regarding her feelings, her experiences with dating. Over the course of an hour she went from being afraid of falling in love again to admitting that she likes him to his face. It's four days later now and I'm pretty sure they're head over heels for each other. I heard from my boyfriend that he's really happy I talked to her about it. I can relate to Omega on a level that I don't think a lot of people can. At least, not without it being pointed out. I feel like Omega can teach a lot of us that we can use people-skills for good. That if you're heart and your intentions are in the right place, a little bit of manipulation can go a long way. Although, we probably shouldn't call it 'manipulation'. How about 'a push in the right direction'? Sorry for this 5,000 word count essay. Omega is a character that really resonates with me. And this video also struck a note for me.
Nice to hear a well thought out explanation of something I've wondered from the start of her introduction! But how she is somehow force sensitive with midichlorians concerns me. Because even from her introduction, aside from having Jango's darker skin, the only other character in the SW universe she happened to resemble is Palpatine. The shade of blonde hair and particular cut/style always reminded me of the Senator's hair early in the prequels. But how they potentially acquired his DNA perplexes me. And if it's not him then it makes an argument for having Obi-wan DNA, depending on the timing of her creation. The few I've mentioned all that it to thought I was stretching, but here we are with the conformation of the M-count. So I won't be surprised if she turns out to be connected that way, and possibly Rey's mother, since the series is connecting the gaps between movies.
Omega isn't necessarily Force-sensitive. All that's been confirmed so far is that her DNA (and by extension, Jango and Boba Fett's DNA) is accepting of foreign midi-chlorians. Which is strange in and of itself, but it doesn't mean she can actually use the Force.
growing up I loved the clone wars and never thought there would be any other star wars media that would capture my heart and mind in the same capacity but dang bad batch does that
I wasn't sure about Omega at first, but I've grown to like her a lot. She's very smart sure, but she has her flaws as well. Crosshair was right, she is too trusting of people, especially other clones. But her compassion for others is the only reason he was freed from his cell, and many of his problems could have also been avoided had he been more trusting. I think every member of the bad batch has their place, except tech. I never felt like he had much of a role in the group that other clones couldn't fill, but at least he went out like a bad ass.
WHATEVER Omega is, she IS more than she is letting on! As I commented to my friend as we have been watching Series 3, 'I think the Kaminoans made her just a little bit TOO good, & she would BE their undoing!'
Emerie: Nala Se never told you about your true origins. Omega: She told me enough! And you can't lock me up here! My brothers will come get me! Emerie: No, Omega, they aren't your brothers. *I* am your sister. Omega: No. No. That's not true! It's impossible! Emerie: Search your feelings. And, ah... the rest of yourself. You KNOW it to be true.
Ngl I don't want Omega to be force sensitive. I think she's just a talented, smart kid. At the same time, her abilities are well-earned since she had education and training from her brothers
I believe that Omega, especially after learning about the galaxy with her brothers, knows she has the ability to be able to trick and manipulate people, but she really doesn’t want to do that so she tries her best to make sure her power of manipulation is used for a win win situation for both sides. I don’t think she thinks about manipulating people that she knows and loves, but more like shows them what she knows they need to see. This is a very well done video that I felt was very entertaining and made me think hard about this subject.
Omega is truly a unique character in a universe where everyone seems to be "for themselves" and the infighting Palpatine's Sith empire and ideology has created.
I'm certain Nala Se was the exception and always would have tried her best for Omega. That being said you do need more than one person and a medical droid in your life.
I agree. Although I think the writers implemented that so she could have a connection with someone when she was imprisoned by the Empire at that specific time.
I find this video overly cynical. 😮 I hope it isn't that Omega has a much darker aim to her motives. Like Cid. Can't she just find wonder in the smallest things? 🤔
Season 4, Omega starts to show signs of the force and hears the voice of a Darth........... Season 5, Omega somehow dreams of korriban and learns of the dark side Season 6, she becomes a Sith by the end of the season and kills her clone family!
Yes, Omega is definitely manipulating everyone. The first time I watched the Bad Batch, I thought "Oh great, a female clone variant. Lemme guess, she's Force sensitive right? Because why not??" My initial judgements were both confirmed and denied as the first season progressed until I realized that no, Omega was not Force sensitive... she's just unnaturally intuitive. And now (back then) I've just angry-watched the first season of a show, and I all but ignored most of the rest of the crew because I was trying to spot Omega doing something Jedi-ish, and therefore had to watch it again online to catch up with the rest of the story. And that's when I watched the first season the second time... curse that child lol
Omega has had very little time to play with other kids, or to have any 'normal' family life. ITtis not surprising she can't catch a ball, and it is not surprising she has moments of depression.
She is force sensitive, they have literally said multiple times in season three she is the first clone to have a positive M-count transfer, M count means medichlorian count, and since they are working on force sensitive palpatine clones she is important for being the only successful force sensitive clone yet
I saw this thumbnail right before I was going to sleep last night and I had a dream that the experiment they did on her blood sample, allowed Palpatine to control her. Either to make her do dark side things or to possess her to communicate to his allies.
Remember what Omaga tells Crosshair when there all in detention " Yes you will and it's not your fault, and I forgive you." Your also leaving out a very important thing as well. Omaga is force sensitive .
Given that she is the product of scientific experimentation with the goal of say creating the perfect super soldier it's no wonder she possesses so many intellectual and sociological talents and attributes. Manipulating other beings? If so, and as you suggested, probably only for the greater good and unselfishly. Omega is a lot like the character I created in my own super hero universe. She is endowed with an exponentially high level of insight and intuition, empathy and broad ranging comprehension of pretty much anything and everything around her. Omega is in fact probably what all real life human beings would strive for or be without the interference of our own world powers of the elite rich and wealthy. In the military sense and in just basic human sense she is the epitome of what a nearly perfect human being would look like. Initially in the series I was a little annoyed with her but I quickly caught on to all her positive traits and saw how she's the Nightwing, Cyclops, Batman or Captain America of the Bat Batch. She's the perfect leader. She inspires she motivates, she's loyal and generates loyalty within her troops. She's selfless, generous and giving. she's courageous, bold and brave and she's always willing to do what it takes to accomplish the mission and keep her men alive and she would never ask either one of them to do something that she wouldn't be willing to do herself. I aspire to be as good a person as Omega is.
“Who doesn’t know how to play a simple game of catch” Also omega: probably has been on kamino without actually ‘playing’ because she was a test subject
